  1. I don't have time to procrastinate. My non-work life is very unpredictable, so I'm unable to stick to a set schedule for the most part. I organize my work carefully with calendars and lists but leave time slots flexible. Of course, the urge to procrastinate still exists! I've heard some people use programs that block other websites (social media, YouTube, games) during work hours.
  2. I agree with the others saying it's a tactic used to get a discount. It shouldn't work. Perhaps it sounds egotistical, but I just assume people will hire me for more work in the future if they need it and they like my delivered content.
  3. I'll add my voice again! This is an important issue that deserves a solution by now. Oh no! I can't imagine how any buyer would think that's okay.
  4. I'm horribly allergic to wasps and bee stings, so I get quite tense when one buzzes by. The others don't bug me much (ha ha). I'd rather not have a spider jump on me, but I won't flail and scream. The only one that freaks me out is a preying mantis. They have necks and stare at you with those big, alien eyes. Ugh.

This is the kind of content this forum needs! Nice ba... No, I'm not saying it.
  6. I've been a full-time freelancer and small business owner for 20+ years. I suggest saving up at least six months of living expenses first, diversifying your income as much as possible, and always having a back up plan. Also, never stop learning how to master your marketable skills. Would I choose full-time freelancing reliant on Fiverr income alone? No way. Not even if you're making a living wage here now. Who knows what the future brings?
  7. According to the Fiverr TOS, you cannot have more than one account at all. It is against the rules to have two or more accounts no matter how many devices you use.
  8. Out of sheer curiosity, I peeked at Buyer's Requests for the first time in... oh, probably five years. I couldn't find one request that looked like an actual job. I'm very glad they're switching things.
  9. The former stock site Fiverr used was Getty Images, not Deposit Photos. You could never sell stock photo rights directly from Deposit Photos anywhere. It's against their licensing terms.
  10. Last time there was a cool kids' meeting, I snuck in the back and no one kicked me out. This time, I'm coming loaded with blueberry almond scones. I also have celery if anyone's not into scones.
  11. "Do or do not. There is no try." Yoda Nope. There's an awful lot of try in life, and there's nothing wrong with that. Since Fiverr is full of 'doers' maybe this isn't the best place to say that! I'll amend it to 'There is no trying in Fiverr!' (crying in baseball?) I need more coffee.
  12. I do not remember where I read this and it was quite a while ago, but I believe blocking someone only makes it so they cannot message you and they will not see your gig in search anymore. If they bookmarked your gig or remember the URL, they can still access it and place orders. It's absolutely not a fair way for blocks to work.
  13. I believe Jime_I wrote the letter. They mentioned sending a first draft in the original post. The 20 or so identical words, especially since #1 includes set phrases that you can't rewrite in other ways do not seem to merit plagiarism claims. Perhaps it had to do with the structure of the letter -- topical plagiarism? I'm absolutely not accusing you of doing this, but perhaps some sentences you wrote were close enough even if the automatic checkers didn't flag them. Or maybe it was considered plagiarism by the third party in question (the university) because they require the applicant to write all application/scholarship-related documents.
  14. The subscription column on my gigs page is not visible. However, I do have a subscription active on my actual gig. It's on the gig page, buyers can see it (I specifically asked one who wanted a custom sub order if he could see it). There are other sellers in my category with subs set up. I have active subscription orders right now, too.
  15. I pay my insurance fees to my insurance company, which has nothing at all to do with Fiverr. If someone is asking you on Fiverr to pay an insurance fee, it's a scam.
  16. Is anyone else having an issue with this, or is it just me? I could no longer send subscription custom offers to my repeat buyers as soon as this was announced. Customer Service isn't helping.
  17. Yes. The order remains active. The paused gig is taken out of search rotation.
  18. I've had this issue in the past. It seems there is a delay between you setting up the Unavailable option and it actually functioning. I've had Customer Service suggest I clear my browser cache to solve it, although I have no idea why that would make their system work incorrectly. Another option is to pause your gigs. However, people could still message you then.
  19. Just a note that there has been some copyright issues with Pixabay images in the past, so I'd steer away from that for commercial purposes. DepositPhotos offers very affordable stock.
  20. Excellent post! Sometimes I wonder if there is a Fiverr gig scraper program out there that automatically grabs lines from multiple gigs in the same category and splices them into something that is supposed to be an effective description. I find random sentences from my gigs copied sometimes, and I wonder if the other sentences are copied from elsewhere as the whole thing seems disjointed. Next time I think I'll check.
  21. "Its impossible to not feel like its a trap." This sums things up rather well. How odd. It's like they think Fiverr is some freelancers' personals page?
  22. This isn't specific to this gig, but has anyone noticed an amazing number of writers spamming every single one of their gigs in this section lately? They're all eerily similar, too.
  23. I haven't offered expedited delivery times for a few years now. I used to offer 48-hour turnaround for a rather ridiculously high extra charge. A few people ordered! However, I prefer more concrete scheduling these days. Due to circumstances not specific to my work life, shoving in even one extra hour of work on short notice is quite difficult for me.
  24. Update... I have contacted the Customer Support team and they they gave me two copy-paste answers that didn't pertain to my question. They also said (paraphrased) 'some features appear and disappear randomly.' Is there any additional information about the ability to send custom subscription offers to returning customers? That capability is gone for me now and I have some unhappy buyers.
  25. I have subscriptions still set up on my gigs. I do not have that option when creating a custom offer. I'll contact Customer Service. Something else I just noticed. On my gig list page, I no longer have a 'Subscription' column even though subscriptions are active on my gigs.
