  1. Maybe tell them you didn't receive the email after you check your spam folders and everything, of course. Re-read the TOS and figure out what you did wrong though it might be too late to help you.
  2. This is one thing I have to get better at. Time to schedule one more 'respond to Fiverr messages' time in my day.
  3. That is a problem that many of us have complained about for a long time and Fiverr hasn't done anything about it. Click on the Resolution Center in your order and request additional time by explaining the multiple packages take more time. That's the only option right now. Hopefully, the buyer will understand!
  4. I'm with you there! I graduated high school in 1992. I didn't start freelancing for a while afterward, however. In the beginning, things were quite different than they are now.
  5. I report quite a few monthly for copying my gig descriptions. I don't bother to look back to see if they're gone. I'm not sure I could handle the frustration if Fiverr failed to act on my reports.
  6. About two years ago, I had to have emergency surgery. I had ten or so orders in queue. I requested cancellation on them all, and then requested more time on those who didn't honor my cancellation. Two people didn't agree, so I had to get those orders done while lounging in a hospital bed. This isn't at all a "look how dedicated to Fiverr I am!" post. Not at all. My point is that yes, this has negatively affected your account. There is unfortunately no system in place for actually taking days off for whatever reason or handling emergent situations. I absolutely agree with Sabinepoems about the idea of charging extra because you made a mistake. There is no call for that at all. The buyer ordered from you per Fiverr's TOS and should expect delivery on time. In fact, a discount as an apology makes more sense to me if you want to do anything.
  7. Since the seller admitted that they did not do the work, you might have a case. I'd contact Fiverr support about this. They'll probably respond automatically with the usual 'can't remove feedback' thing, but I'd push the issue... very gently and professionally, of course. Send a screen shot of the seller admitting they did not do the work themselves, as I'm sure that was what the gig description indicated.
  8. It's not considered spam to send Seller Plus coupons to these people even if they haven't contacted you recently, is it? That may be a possibility. It's interesting that they have a message button right on that list since we're not allowed to randomly contact them.
  9. They really do have no idea how long things take, I believe. I did have one request for writing 60,000 words in four days once. I told the person that was physically impossible and moved on. I do understand the interest in haggling or trying to get a discount. It's only natural to want to pay less for a product or service. However, there's a big difference between a reasonable offer and an insulting one.
  10. I had an interesting one last week. (Not verbatim) "Your reviews are impressive. I think you'd be the perfect fit or my project and I know I'll get outstanding work!" General professional inquiry about what they want. (Goes on for a while...) "Since I have no clue if you can actually write or not, I'll make a trial order. 40,000 for $300! I'll pay your price for future projects if you do this one well." (I go scream in a corner for a while). I'm sorry, but your budget doesn't align with my prices.
  11. It was removed now because they finally caught you breaking the rules. There is no free pass on rule-breaking just because you got away with it for four years.
  12. Well, when I read this, I admit I thought, "Damn!" but I wouldn't just type that. Fiverr rewards success because they want more of it. Maybe it's time for the OP to upgrade their skills or try a different one.
  13. I've been a freelancer for about 22 years now. I've been on Fiverr since 2010, the same year it launched. My freelance career was born from necessity, both financial and personal. I needed something I could do at home. Flexibility and interrupt-ability were two of the most important considerations. Those are also the two greatest benefits. I have a disabled son and an elderly mother to care for these days, and I simply cannot carve out specific chunks of time for work and nothing else. Another benefit is the ability to follow new interests to hopefully profitable ends. I do a lot of different things these days and am very happy I have the opportunity. The disadvantages of freelancing for me include most of the things other people mentioned. There is no paid time off work, no employee matching for retirement funds, no provided healthcare insurance. I get incredibly jealous sometimes of people who have salary jobs and share that they often do other things at work and still get paid. For example, I am a novelist and frequently chat with other fiction writers. So many of them talk about getting in a few hundred words while they're at work and still get paid their regular wage. Obviously, I cannot get paid for freelance jobs at the same time I'm working on my novels. In the end, I am extremely grateful that I could create multiple streams of income for myself that I can do from home and while taking care of everything else I'm responsible for.
  14. Yes. If you break the rules, why shouldn't they disable your account? It is not their responsibility to explain the rules to you repeatedly. It is our job to know and understand them.
  15. I'm not on the list, but I have been a TRS for a while now. I do agree with many comments others made, but wanted to add a few details from my perspective. I became a TRS when my basic gig package was at the lower-mid range of sellers who did not charge five dollars anymore. Of course, I have no way of knowing if I would have become one earlier if my price was higher. One thing that could be a factor is the percentage of repeat customers a person gets. It could be an indicator of quality and professionalism.
  16. As this is directly against their TOS, I doubt they will create a way to effectively circumvent the rule or system.
  17. Yes. I'm as helpful as possible, but I do not offer business consultation services. People do not chat about non-business/writing related topics (Most of the time. I had one just a few weeks ago who decided I needed to know about their upcoming surgery in detail.) but quite a few want me to come up with complete content marketing or website creation strategies for them through the Inbox. Over the years, I've learned to become quite protective of my non-billable hours.
  18. The ability to have total project cost and delivery time increased based on multiple gigs ordered. Right now, people could order 100 of my basic gig and at the delivery time stays the same as if they had ordered one of my basic gigs. This needs to change. For services that charge per unit (per word for writing, per minute for voiceovers maybe?), It would be amazing to have an ordering system where the buyer can plug in exactly how many units they want and have the price and delivery time adjusted automatically based on our settings.
  19. Are there websites that do not stay active 24/7? I have never heard of such a thing, but maybe this happens in other countries.
  20. An individual subscription is locked at the previous price that existed when the subscription started. I have two active ones like that right now.
  21. Oh, absolutely. I'm not at all fond of the negative reputation. It would help all of us for Fiverr to be the shining beacon of excellence we all know it can be.
  22. Thanks for the information as always, Frank. I actually wasn't aware Fiverr ever had in-person events on a regular basis. I do think it's great to offer such things to people. I have to figure out how to stay informed about the news of the site other than chancing across information on the forum.
  23. I'm an incredibly unsocial person, so I'm quite confused about these separate location-specific groups. What is the point of in-person meetups specifically? Is this just for people who enjoy getting out and doing in-person things or will there be some other benefit that we recluses will miss out on? It doesn't seem like many Fiverr services offered have anything to do with geographic location: i.e., no one's offering plumbing services here.
  24. Absolutely. 100% agree. Any action to expunge these types of sellers from the system will go a long way to boost Fiverr's reputation. I see so very many people elsewhere tell others to avoid Fiverr at all costs because it is full of scammers, liars, and unskilled people. To add to the OP, copying someone else's gig description will not make you a skilled professional either. In fact, it makes you a thief. I find 10+ plagiarists every time I search for my gig descriptions here.
