  1. That's getting philosophical. There's a saying in English, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree", meaning children very often grow up to be just like their parents, even if in different ways. I do not believe everyone is good, because being 'good' is takes work and effort, and frequently a crazy amount of self-control and self-awareness. I do think everyone has the potential to do good, but humans (both individuals and as species) are notorious for making bad decisions, lazy decisions, apathetic decisions, and self-centered decisions. I've seen faked location before, here on Fiverr. VPNs are a thing.
  2. Did you even read the post? The point isn't about the algorithm nor skill or qualifications. It's about knowing how the platform works, the ins and outs and quirks of Fiverr, about how working with individual freelancers online is different than buying from a store in-person, about avoiding common pitfalls by (for their first purchase) working with people who are most likely able to guide the buyer through the entire process.
  3. You missed a word. New buyers, not all buyers. This point is discussed later in the topic. ("Against the law of humanity" ... what? I think you might have mixed up some words.)
  4. There are not-good people everywhere. A single person is not a good sample size to represent the population of a nation. Beware of cognitive baises. You had a good opinion of the country before the incident. What was that based on? (How do you know the person was actually from there?)
  5. Maybe don't offer the lowest prices. Consumer behavior is weird, and perception of value holds. I glanced at your linked gig. Your images have red and blue underlines. Now, I'm fully aware that poetry is less strict with grammar and structure, but you can dismiss those correction suggestions in most writing programs. Leaving them in just looks sloppy. Also, the first poem has some line-break issues.
  6. Adding to the above comment: Most Fiverr statistics are based on 60 days. (Which is exacly 2 months.) https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360010750318-Viewing-Gig-Statistics
  7. The simple answer is 'add a margin'. But, just in case something is behaving oddly, could you provide some screenshots of what you're seeing?
  8. Hmm. This is all I could find in the Fiverr Help Center. https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/10940676626193-Photography-and-related-services So, you don't edit/enhance the photos after you take them? Or analyze, in the case of the roof inspection gig? Because that would/could be their own milestones. Do you schedule to take the photos while the owner/agency are on-site? Because, if so, the first milestone might be the 'showing up' stage, that would deliver a quick selfie with the building to-be photographed as your backdrop. Then the owner/agency would have to approve the first milestone before you begin. If the owner/agency are not on-site, though, then the risk of not being paid is just a part of doing business, no matter the industry, online or offline. In the case of Fiverr, specifically, there are a few reports here on the forums of people being reimbursed for being skunked, but ONLY if the gig is exceptionally clear, the order contract is airtight in wording about what IS and what is NOT included, and you deliver exactly what you promised with equivalent or better quality as what is in your gig samples.
  9. Shhhh... As one of his highness's council, I must remind his non-merciful Grace that: Rule number one of Fight Club.... Oh, you're not talking about That Place? I beg you find pity in your caffinated heart; forgive my egregious assumption, your great excellence of refrigerator stickers.
  10. Look into Milestones. https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360010560178-Working-with-Milestones-Milestone-workflow
  11. Whups. My brain is a bit addled at the moment, for some reason I interpreted the question as pertaining to my day-job, and not my freelance work, where we have a tiny bit of wiggle room baked into the price. Even then, as a service-industry job, we only discount if we've made a mistake. (And the time is usually already gone, so it's more of an apology, than a discount.)
  12. Keep reading. The very next post questions that number, too, and the one after has an addendum.
  13. That's a very... lazy mindset. It did post as it's own topic, but this is a business forum, not a journal/blog. At the bottom of every forum page, you will see "Powered by Invision Community". I'll admit I have no clue what 'xenoforo' is, but the 5-messages-per day limit is to prevent spam.
  14. That's risky. If you're dealing with a dishonest user, they can try to cancel before you make the final delivery.
  15. What kind of audio? Who is your target buyer persona? Different generations and industries associate 'sound' with different colors.
  16. Seconding this. Beta readers can be found on a sliding scale of simple first-impression feedback to full-on critique-partner. Though, there is also a third door in a co-writer. Someone who writes alongside you. Good ones are far, far trickier to find. A good critique-partner at least leaves you with full veto power.
  17. No easy way, no. $0.05 per word would be 100 words for $5, so that's what you would need to set as your base package. Unless things have changed since I last built a custom offer, you can make custom offers any dollar value after the $5 minimum.
  18. The reason is because things change. This topic is nearly a year old. SEO Title was removed back in June. https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/284431-seo-title-feature-removed/
  19. Figureskating. Very original in the "can't be copied" sense.
  20. That is exactly the mindset that can lead to people getting hurt.
  21. ... seriously? I am very tempted to hide the post I just made. Don't give advice that hasn't worked for you. That is exactly why it didn't work.
  22. Firstly, those "Sellers like you", how many orders have they earned through that method? Just like you should never take financial advice from a broke person, and you should never take dietary advice from a heavy person, you should not take sales advice from people who haven't "walked the walk". Second, you shouldn't message people directly. It's basically like gesturing people to a dark alley and asking if they want to buy a Rolex. "Promote on social media" is not the same thing as 'establish a social media presence'. Lay a foundation before you build a house. https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360010490438-The-How-Tos-Of-Advertising-Off-The-Fiverr-Platform https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/292755-how-to-grow-a-network-and-promote-yourself/
  23. More proof that "stay online" alone doesn't work. As for the sharing, that can't affect your statistics. https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360010750318-Viewing-Gig-Statistics In the past, how mamy of your orders came from outside Fiverr? I glanced at your profile, and while it's good, it could be better. Your profile description, especially. https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/4410883326481-Gig-image-guidelines-Making-the-most-of-your-Gig-image?segment=seller For your consideration: https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/148025-level-1-hell-pass-the-test-new-sellers/
