I don't think the problem is the badges themselves, but they way the system works. Reddit has karma, so a lot of people want to farm it as well, but given the way it works you can't farm it by simply commenting "thank you for valuable information" again and again.

I have never stayed online 24 hours in the 4 years that I have been here. Neither have I ever promoted on Social Media. Yet today I am a TRS.

What I do is pretty simple. 

1. I offer a quality product.

2. I provide excellent customer service.

3. I keep my gig images simple and clutter free.

4. I neverr offer unlimited revisions because my time is valuable.

6. I never stay online 24/7, because sleep is imprortant to do number 2 on my list.

My advice would be to listen before you speak.

Also, you can find a lot of advice on the forum. So, my second piece of advice is to do your own research. Remember to check the credentials of those giving the advice. Have they actually made more than a couple of sales?

You should just skip the whole "post in groups" thing right away. Just sharing your gig on social media will have no effect. 

You should start by having a strategy. Work with professionals to develop your business strategy, marketing strategy, messaging and so on. If you're not a professional, don't try to do it yourself. It seems you're a designer, so maybe you could work on your own marketing materials, but in order for you to do that, you first need to know a few things: 

• WHo are your buyers/clients. 
• What do they need? 
• What is your value proposition and what differentiates you?

When you have a clear strategy and a businessplan ready, you can consider investing in marketing on social media (i.e. creating landing pages, funnels and so on) that will lead to your Fiverr gig. 

Remember to never put your contact info on any landing pages, since that's against the Fiverr terms. Make sure your landing page only leads to your Fiverr gig and nowhere else. 

To do this, you'll need: 

1. A business plan
2. A marketing strategy
3. Market research
4. A web designer
5. A specialist in ad campaigns on social media

That's how you market your gig on social media. Not by spamming Facebook groups, as many new sellers with no success will suggest.

The only people that will see your post in Facebook groups where people spam their Gig links, is other people who also spam their Gig links and have no interest in your service.

Personally, I have a business Facebook page that I am the admin of. I try to create engaging content and interact with other people who also specialize in my niche. I also pay for Facebook Ads. The great thing with Facebook Ads is that you can target the specific demographic that you think will be likely to click your Ad link and make a purchase, which is really useful. For example, there is no point in my advertising my content creation service to an 80 year old Russian Lady. I don't think anyway. However, if I select to show my Ads to people who have entered data into Facebook that they own YouTube channels, that would be my exact target market.

Facebook will also provide you with Ad Credits the first time you use thier services to try them out for free, so you can see how effective they are for you.

Yeah, having a Facebook page is not a bad idea if you want to market yourself as a brand. I use Facebook ads every now and then, and it can work if you're doing it right. I prefer to spend a few hours writing some "ultimate guide" and then have that at the top of Google. Free marketing, forever. And it took a few hours. I consistently get business because of it.

I am not sure if it allowed to advertise your gig on facebook? I did read in some post that it was not allowed to advertise on google adword so i guess same goes for facebook.? Correct me if i am wrong.

Fiverr only specifically forbids Google Adwords (this is most likely because Fiverr actively uses Adwords themselves), but you can promote your gig on Facebook using their paid ads. However, Facebook has a tendency of blocking gig links from their ads, so that's why I recommend getting a landing page and market that on Facebook, and have the landing page lead your visitors to your Fiverr gig.
