leannelrivers
I watched Goodfellas again last night. I've easily seen it 100 times and it never, ever gets old. "I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers." 31
kendal1747
I watched "American Sniper". My brother left us 5 years ago. He was military. I just have to watch and know some of the horrible things that he went through. 31 2
mabelma
It's been a while since I've seen any movies. I think the last one I saw was Emily the Criminal, but tomorrow I will go watch the new Super Mario Movie so hopefully that'll be a blast. 29
kaneswriting
I recently watched an indie sci-fi film called 'Vesper', and it was really bad. The pacing was so slow that I genuinely felt pain from the amount of boredom I experienced, haha. I do not recommend watching it, and I wish I could have my £2.50 and 2 hours back! However, I also recently watched 'The Whale', which was really good despite being slightly heartbreaking at times. 26 1
imagination7413
Just watched Super Mario Brothers The Movie. ALL THE REFERENCES! As a Mario-games fan, it was GREAT! (If you're not fan, then probably not the movie for you. Rotten Tomatoes didn't rank it well.) 29

imagination7413
The other movie thread got bumped, so... On 1/21/2023 at 3:36 PM, vickieito said: The last movie I watched was "A Man Called Otto" with Tom Hanks. He does a great job playing a grumpy, old man and reminds me of my Dad. 😂 I watched it too! Made me cry in a few spots (happy and sad tears). Cute, and heartbreaking, and funny, and very slice-of-life. Did you watch on disk? We did and the extra content included how the director team adapted and translated it from a Swedish book. I'm a proponent of "read the book before you watch the movie", but I sadly only know English. From what was presented in the disk extra, it seemed they were faithful to the spirit of the story, even if localization had to adapt for its target audience (me included!). "...and you are not stupid." -Otto --- Also recently watched Little Shop of Horrors, and other than being very impressed with the puppetry, I'd like my hour back, please. 24

The title "A Man Called Otto" reminded me of another movie titled "The Man From Earth", do check it out if you haven't, it's interesting. But yes, "A Man Called Otto" was good too, Tom Hanks is a natural. 24

Sure it looks a little bit dated, but it still puts the frighteners up me and continues to give me a fear of deep water. Now with the stories of killer whales attacking ships, more than ever. But back to topic: I watched Surburbicon, it was a bit odd, but I loved the retro setting. Edited June 30, 2023 by xxjana_1234 25 1

They used to be something I'd either consume in bulk (think bing-watching horror movies for 3 days and then having nightmares for a week) OR just ignore completely, but lately, things have changed a bit. I like curling up in bed with some snacks (I do NOT like chili licorice though, it's not as good as I thought it would be) and just chilling with something fun or scary. Last night, I watched the Babysitter which was... interesting (but fun.) So I'm wondering, have you watched anything fun lately? (or maybe... you watched something awful... we've had bad luck with series these days ha.) Babysitter is such a good one. Currently seeing Succession (its a series). The acting is so damn good. You should check it out. 23
