  1. That's horrible! I too would like to know how to determine what kind of files are being sent.
  2. I received the tip to look at the fiverr profiles of high ranking people who work in the same profession as you. (This doesn't mean you should copy what they wrote, but it can give you good examples for gig descriptions and pricing.) And read through the forum, there are many tips to be found here.
  3. I think sharing your gig on social media also helps.
  4. You can tell him that it's against Terms Of Service to discuss work anywhere else but through the Fiverr message or order system. Fiverr will not see this as your mistake, because you didn't ask the buyer for his number.
  5. I'm glad he failed! Unfortunately this seems to be happening to all new people 😨
  6. Now with the stories of killer whales attacking ships, more than ever. But back to topic: I watched Surburbicon, it was a bit odd, but I loved the retro setting.
  7. I'm new to fiverr, so I unfortunately can't give you any advice, however I would strongely advise against making a new account. From what I gathered if you already had orders and positive ratings you are more likely to be booked again, whereas it is said to be the greatest obstacle for new members without any rankings to get orders.
  8. Beware those people asking to communicate on telegram, they are bad scammers. They will pretend to be a company with job oppotunities and then they will start asking you to pay them for not meeting deadlines etc. (even though it seems quite obvious to most people) some people fell for the telegram scam and have lost a lot of money.
  9. As someone who is new to fiverr and has gotten a ton of scam messages I am surprised and saddened that fiverr does not seem to tackle this problem?! Every day my inbox is full of "contact me on telegram" and I have reported them all, but it's an ongoing phenomenon. The other day I read on a facebook thread that someone fell victim to the scammers, paid them and altogether lost 7000$. (I know one could argue, how could they have been that naive when fiverr clearly states to never take business off the platform, but that person was not from an English speaking contry and the scammers had convinced them by saying the project was really urgent and the possibilities of working together with them on future projects were endless. So they paid the scammers and then started receiving threats from what they thought was a large and legit company which was on the brink of suing them and they paid some more to settle the issue.) Long story short, can't anything be done about this, maybe limit the amounts of messages that new users can send or only allow profiles that have been completely filled out to message others? The way things are going right now, I'm even too concerned to upload my certificates, because I wouldn't want personal information in the hands of these scammers. Sorry for the long rant.
  10. Thanks so much for your suggestions, I will follow your advice!
  11. Hello, I'm new to fiverr and so far I have only received scam requests of people asking me to message them on telegram, via e-mail and today someone even asked me to pay a fee before I started working on a project for them. Needless to say I reported all those messages, but I don't know what to do to reach serious buyers. Any advice? Thanks in advance
