We cannot normalize cyberbullying, hate, racism and abuse on this forum 🚫

First & foremost. I’ll start by saying I hope everyone is doing well, staying safe and healthy. 🙂

I haven’t been active on this forum for a long time. But coming back to check out the newness of the forum. Then reading some of the posts/commentary was disheartening. I’ve been seeing people, especially women getting called awful and unimaginable things. Users subjected to racial epithets. People are being harassed on the forum and on the main Fiverr website. But yet the perpetrator(s) still get to have free reign to continue to abuse users?

What kind of message is this really sending?

As a melanin and proud woman. It was appalling reading the message that user sent to another melanin user @words_to_wow. I’m sorry this happened to you. You are an amazing woman, and you deserve to be treated with decency and respect.

Racism, xenophobia, homophobia, cyberbullying, and misogyny are disgusting. Many social media platforms are taking the necessary actions to stop this madness. What is Fiverr doing?

This is a work-related environment.

@frank_d made an executive decision to ban a user for cyberbullying and hatred towards others. Pretty much a user breaking forum rules/community guidelines. I understand that Frank was told not to ban a user, but he had to put a stop to the madness, and I commend him for doing so. Even if his decision was overturned. If I was in Frank's position; I would’ve done the same thing without thinking twice.👏🏽

How many free passes does one get?!

In the world we live in. Hate crimes are on the rise.

People should never be harassed because of their skin color; race, or religious beliefs, etc.

Okay, I’ve written a novel. But you get my point. I had to get this off my chest. I’ll stop here with these parting words. We cannot allow ourselves to become desensitized to hate crimes. This is not about, you but US.

I want to hear how the Fiverr Forum Moderation and as a Platform will protect users from these types of abuses.

Hi @nikavoice. I appreciate your post and I'm sure many others do as well.

This entire experience has been upsetting and ridiculous to say the least. If we all worked together physically, I'm sure this behavior would not be tolerated, as there are policies put in place to protect employees. There is even training to educate and try to prevent this type of thing from happening. That way, when or if it does occur, the perpetrator would be punished. I guess online employment platforms are different.

Since my first message from this person, I reported the incident. He messaged me six more times after that with even more revolting language. CS told me that it would be handled. I have confidence that it will be. Not sure how long it will take, though. Of course, I could block him, but that would be like running away or hiding from the bully.

As long as this person remains on this platform, he will continue to harass and insult others.

I'm quite disappointed that I did not get any threatening or abusive private messages from that character. Although I must say I'm not that surprised - he appears to mainly target women with that kind of bs. Which I guess makes sense to his warped mind, I would tear him a new one. Oh, it would be so fun.

Hi, @words_to_wow,

Oh no, I'm sorry you're still being harassed. 😡

People are angry and upset about this despicable behavior.  Some are too scared to say anything in fear. Which is understandable.  I'm sorry, but where I'm from I speak up for what I believe in. Being quiet and mum is not an option. If we remain silent, it emboldens people.

Imagine how other people feel, outsiders reading through these comments who don't sell/buy. They wouldn't feel inclined to be a part of this community.

Sending virtual hugs your way. 🤗

Actually, he sent a threatening message to @frank_das well, so women aren't his only targets. Trust me, you don't want to hear from him. He is repulsive and out of control. Sorry to say, but people like him get fired then go back and shoot everyone up.

Well, that's the advantage of not working together, then. And of not living in a country with easy access to firearms, that's also a thing. He is invited to come to Portugal whenever he wants, and if he starts sh*t up he'll be put in his place reeaaaal fast. No weapons needed.

If Fiverr doesn't deal with this appalling sort of behaviour, then UK law soon won't allow it. It'll be up to the service provider to stop hateful stuff being sent in the first place.

Got a feeling that many forums, social media websites etc. will soon not be allowing UK users, otherwise it'll be more than their business is worth to allow bad behaviour to continue.

@visualstudios It was anticlimactic to be honest. I’d give his threats a 3/10. Would not recommend.

his “yo momma” game was weak and his legalese/lawyer threats left me wanting.

Jokes aside this person was dealing with issues no one on this platform can help him with.

He was making an extra effort to attack women which is what lead me to ban him immediately and without consultation.

I am sure the forum’s admin and customer support agents now have all the evidence to see that was the right call.

Yes, I recently read an article about this law passing. I believe it got 82 votes from MSPs.  Things are going to get real hairy. 😬

I didn't visit the forum for one day and so much goes down.... dang.

I got the apology message like most did when he returned after the first ban, but based on his actions I decided to ignore both him and his future posts. To me, he was looking for attention and when he didn't get the exact answer he was seeking, he became aggressive. Also, in one of his apologies he used the term 'we' and 'us' instead of me, which made me question if he was a troll.

We'll never know what his true problem was, but the forum is better without him. I do hope he isn't reinstated after a couple of days.

You made me laugh out loud, literally! It's been a long day!!

Glad I was able to make you laugh after all this ordeal.

It seems we have an official announcement from the administration on this matter:

P.S. I have been keeping an eye on this user’s profile and for the past hour or so I get the “user not found” message.

So “kill confirmed” 🪖

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? That first message was bad enough already but SIX!?
Daaang that dude has way to much free time. I guess he seriously has nothing better to do, shouldn't he be grieving for his grandmother? ( and I do not mean this in a mocking way)
Looks like that dude is acting more aggressively towards women....hey, I feel left out!!
I guess he thinks I'm a dude because of my name. 😅
My hair is quite long now because I'm growing it for donation in the near future, maybe I should change my icon to something more obviously girl-like and
he'll message me too.

Jokes aside, I thought I had seen/read everything on the forum, but there is always someone that shows up and takes everything to a whole new level.
Amazing.

The six that followed were actually worse than the first one. But it's all good. It's over. He has been removed and hopefully we can all go back to typical conversation topics like "Help me get orders" and "My gig has low impressions." However, I would not be surprised if he opens a new account somehow.

And I thought you were a guy, too before you clarified your gender in another post 🙂

A quick heads up people:

The user in question started creating alt accounts and already messaged me on Fiverr, calling me names and fantasizing about my mother.

Because of the amount of swearing in his message, his account was automatically disabled by Fiverr, so he didn’t have a chance to post on the forum.

But there’s a chance his next attempt won’t be filtered out as fast and so he may end up on the forum again.

If that happens, please don’t engage him and mention me so I can deal with it.

He is banned on Fiverr, right? Not just the forum? I hope the company takes a strong stand against sellers like that, too, even if they can't actively harass people on here.
