  1. @stevebatesvo Thank you very much for your reply! I'm very sorry for my late feedback. Soon after I learned that my voiceover wasn't going to be used in a Youtube channel, but in a "closed plattform" which "doesn't monetize from revenue share like Youtube". After that explanation, I said to him that he didn't have to pay for commercial rights. I did some upselling however, since he also wanted the audio edited (or free from errors or bad/second takes).
  2. Hi. I've received an order for recording a 1000-word voiceover (aprox. 7 minutes) for a "gaming-specialized plattform". I don't know if it's a Youtube channel, a social media fanpage or both, or how big it is. The buyer hasn't paid for commercial or broadcast rights. The text doesn't promote any product or service in particular, it just tells stories, kind of "value content" stuff, like the one you find on famous Youtube channels or influencer accounts. I don't know how big this plattform is in terms of commercial potential. After all, content creators aim to make money like anyone of us here. Should I ask him to pay for commercial rights? He could monetize with this content. Are there some questions I should ask him? Thank you so much!

I think there's an invonvenience about the clock ticking during the weekend. Is there a way to manage that? I could've delivered if just the clock just stopped during the weekend. Thank you.
  4. Hi everyone. I received an order on the verge of a weekend trip, so I told the buyer that I couldn't deliver on time and asked him what was his deadline. He didn't answer. Then I asked for a delivery time extension. He didn't answer to it so it was automatically rejected. The time was completed and my order appeared as LATE. Then I asked to cancel the order because of all of the above. Then came evaluation time and my delivery time average is already lowered. Afer that, he cancelled the order and he messaged me apologizing for not responding my messages and request. I told him that because of my apparently lowered rating, it would cost him a little extra if he ordered again, and I asked him when did he need this job done. I considered leaving him a low rating because of this, but two days later (one hour ago) he has messaged me again apologizing for the delay, he told me we have time for this and asked me if he shall re-send the order again. My questions are: 1. Has this already affected me negatively? 2. If so, is it ok to send him a custom order for a higher price than the original order, honoring my promise of an extra cost? I don't think it's fair to simply forget it and tell him to re-order. 3. Obviously I don't want to lose this job and this buyer (this is a new buyer), so I've discarded the idea of a leaving a low rating on him. What do you think? Thank you!

What if the client returns for another job in the future? Should I still stick to this price if I don't change my gig rate? I feel increasing my gig rates would affect my gig performance in respect to small buyers. Or should I first get to the next level after a few more orders?
  7. Hi. Last friday I got a quote request from a new potential buyer. I sent her a custom offer based on my gig rates, and based on the fact that my 3 buyers were agencies/intermediaries, not the client himself/herself. Then, after a little research, I realized that I was approached by the very client, which is a company that operates in 2 countries across the Atlantic and is expanding to a 3rd country. I feel I billed her too little. Is it ok to withdraw my offer and raise my quote almost by 100%? That is, from $100 to $190. She hasn't accepted it nor replied to my offer yet. I've already withdrawn my first offer only for a change in delivery time. Now I'm thinking of withdrawing it again for a raise in price. Is it ok or would it give her a bad first impression? What would you recommed? I don't want to lose this client, buy I don't want to be underpaid for this and potential further jobs with her. I'm not that experienced here, just a new seller.
