  1. I'm sorry this happened to you and it completely sucks. In my mind, there's absolutely no reason for a reputable professional with years of outstanding delivery to be demoted from TRS to level 0, unless they started running an obvious scam, but even then, they should be removed from the platform in that case, not demoted. Fiverr doesn't seem to care about quality and professionalism, because if they did, they would promote your gigs instead of unjustifiably punishing their standing (and your profile as a whole). I have one gig with around 450 reviews, 4.9 rating average. When I research SEO page for my niche, and filter by both "relevance" and "best selling", most gigs shown right at the top are : 1. ads 2. Gigs with barely any reviews or no reviews at all (also, gigs with 4.1-4.8 rating average) 3. Numerous gigs which blatantly copy my gig photos or description word for word, something which I stopped paying attention and taking action against some time ago. Right now, my gig shows up on the first page, but it keeps regularly cycling between the first and fourth pages for seemingly no reason at all. And it stays on the fourth page for weeks at a time, while the first page is populated with new gigs with no track record at all. I wouldn't jump to put the blame on yourself, Fiverr algorithms have been notorious for prioritizing low quality and low effort gigs instead of the ones which have a proven track record and trust from buyers. Even if Fiverr values profit above everything else (which it seems that it does), it doesn't make any sense to me.
  2. I'm so confused by this post. Where are the actual tips for creating a successful Fiverr gig? So far I've learned I have to create a Fiverr profile, add visual media, click on the "publish" button and "earning extra income". How is this useful to anyone?
  3. Well, in that case, I hope that at least we still have a few occasional congas and conga rats! 🏆 That's definitely a new one. I'm glad to hear that the reporting system is working as intended though.
  4. Some things never change, that's for certain. After creating this post I've received 50 notifications from members spam-liking different posts I've made. 😄 I see what you're saying. With a lot of good this forum has to offer comes a lot of the same problems that we've sort of gotten used to. I guess, now that I think about it, my main issue is that the "scroll past 'em" solution works, but also wastes time and energy, which could be used more productively. I have tried filtering out the categories on the forum SEO page, which helps a bit, but spam posts still manage to get in there. However, it's nice to see familiar faces on this post! I'll have to check it out, thank you!
  5. Hey everyone, long time no see! I must admit that I sort of left Fiverr forum or at least became inactive mostly due to constant mind-numbing, idiotic spam that has been overwhelming this forum for quite some time. Of course, it's not the only reason, other reasons are personal and have nothing to do with the forum itself. My question - Is it any better now? I find a lot of joy and meaning in occasional intellectually stimulating conversations with interesting people that can be had here, but the flood of meaningless ignorant posts just made it a bit too hard to search for conversations worth having.
  6. I love the fact that in the gig image your glasses match the color scheme of the main typographic design. The gig looks to be quite fleshed-out, but maybe adding more gig images, a presentation or a video could improve it.
  7. I noticed that as well, messages seem to be lagging a bit. Also, earlier today whenever I would go to my inbox, my interface would turn to a buyer's interface with all the seller tools at the top disappearing 😄 At least that seems to be fixed now.
  8. I agree with this, I can see the incentive behind this system, but it feels forced and rushed. I only have 5 posts per day, I'm not sure if it's because of my forum rank badge or reputation, but I can say it's not enough to have a continuous conversation. Also, this post limit seems to extend to personal messages on the forum, so once you reach your post limit, you're not even able to reply to private messages for the next 24 hours. 🤷‍♂️
  9. @vickiespencer Thank you for the link! I appreciate it. Now I just need to wait out my sentence😄

Why do you have a sentence?

I was being jailed by the forum. Could not post or even reply to private messages due to daily post limit 😄 Still found a way to reply to you, although the post limit sure does make communication a bit difficult. Thank you once again for your time and the link, I'm already putting it to good use. 😊

  10. Starting your own business is never easy, glad to hear you're making good progress. Best of luck on your business! The longest brake I have taken from Fiverr was probably 4 days. I haven't noticed a big difference once I got back to being available, but I imagine that taking long brakes (for example a month or half a year) can make it difficult to get back on track. I'm not sure how the level system works in this case, as I've seen level 2 sellers who had their last delivery 6 or more months ago, but I think the biggest issue would be that your returning clients would have found another seller for their projects by the time you return.
  11. @frank_d I saw your post a bit earlier, but left it as a treat for later 😄 I really appreciate your posts as they not only contain invaluable insights for sellers of all sizes, but they also inspire us to push further that much more, no matter where we are at in our journey. Without getting too much into the metrics of seller's performance, it's reassuring to know that if we deliver top-quality service as well as make sure our clients have a great experience, we are good to go. I hope you had a fantastic birthday and looking forward to your new posts!🥳🎂
  12. As an intelligent individual you still could not refrain from threatening me, I see. Keep it. I have learned that this thread is not a place to have a civil discussion and thus I won't be participating in it going forward. You have made some great points in your reply and I appreciate your input. However, the arguments on both sides are redundant at this point and to me it seems wise to leave it there. I have offered a different perspective which you can take it as you will. I naively hope that these sanctions are only temporary and everything can get back to normal soon. Best of luck.
  13. @bradmitzelfelt Hey, if personally insulting me helps you better sleep at night, whatever floats your boat. I can only point out that the insults start flying once the arguments run out. Best of luck to you. 👍
  14. Are you sure? It seems to me like you are quite certain which side you're on and now that your "no, you" argument has not garnered sympathy, you're virtue signaling and pretending to be apathetic on both sides. That's very honorable of you. I took a screenshot of your posts because I knew they would be deleted quickly. I'll upload them here so people can see what you're really about when they read your posts.
  15. No one here is having an outrage, ******* post is full of confident statements without any substantial follow-ups or arguments whatsoever. I'm going to leave it there. I see your point. However, I would like to point out that Twitch and Youtube are very different to Fiverr. They belong in the internet video hosting and video livestreaming industries respectively, while Fiverr is an online freelance service provider. On Fiverr, every order is monetized, while on Twitch and Youtube it is not the case for every stream and video. For example, it is estimated that only 0.25% of channels on Youtube are actually monetized. I accept the fact that Russian freelancers pay less taxes than regular Russian workers or in many cases generally avoid paying taxes. I have looked into it and it seems to be true. In Lithuania I pay less taxes while freelancing than working a regular job as well. However, it seems clear to me that these sanctions were enforced to have an economical impact as well as disassociate Fiverr from Russia's invasion of an independent sovereign country. They clearly made a decision to stand with Ukraine as most rest of the world also did. I will not accept that these sanctions were enforced for the sole purpose of virtue signaling. Anyone who has at least some understanding of the concept of sanctions will know that this decision can be very costly for Fiverr itself and such decisions are not made easily. It is a common tactic in war to use dead bodies to deter and demoralize the opposing force. Ukrainians are not even the most creative nation in this matter. My best guess would be that you're probably talking about Russian separatists and saboteurs without even knowing it. That's incorrect. What they do is they tie them up to street signs in freezing cold to make an example out of them. You see, it would not be very helpful for Ukrainian populace if everyone took advantage of an ongoing war and started looting. But what do I know, you probably live there and know what's best for them. By saying "we", who are you referring to, exactly? Exactly right. You answered your own question. 🤷‍♂️ You know, when most people from outside of Russia think of Russia, they think *****.*********.
  16. It's interesting seeing how all of the sudden not a single Russian freelancer is apparently paying taxes in this forum. However, on Quora Russian freelancers are helping each other calculate and pay their taxes. My grandfather amongst thousands of Lithuanians was exiled to Syberia during the Soviet era, where he used to use garlic instead of a toothbrush. I know that the freedom I have today required a lot of suffering and pain of my people and I understand it very well. There are thousands of brave Russians who are fighting for peace even though they might face severe consequences. There are thousands of Ukrainians who are standing unarmed in front of Russian tanks shouting for them to go home. They understand how important their role is and they take responsibility for themselves and their country. If you think that complaining about your lost privilege to use Fiverr is the most you can do in your situation, you do you.
  17. My goal with these posts is to have a discussion about a topic that is deeply important to me and to every Lithuanian and hopefully offer a different perspective. Sanctions are very complicated political and economical tools. Saying that they do not seem to work because you heard Russian "president" say so is ridiculous. Sanctions can be very costly to the entity enforcing them, and if Fiverr enforced these sanctions, they have an important reason to do so. Russian population is suffering and it seems that it will get worse, especially if this war evolves into a cold war. I will repeat, sanctions are one of the few ways to interfere with the invasion without causing escalation and many huge businesses have already acted on it despite the potential losses they may incur. It's by no means a perfect tool, but it's the tool we have at the moment. I would love this conflict to end without more human suffering, but any sane person can look at the situation and realize it is not going to happen. Russians who direct their anger towards Fiverr, or Ikea, or any other business enforcing sanctions on their country should really think if they're directing their anger towards the right entity. It's an unfortunate situation for Russian citizens, but not as unfortunate as for Ukrainian citizens who either died, lost their homes or had to flee their country in fear of not waking up the next time they close their eyes.
  18. Putin also calls his invasion of an independent sovereign country a "special operation", spreads massive amounts of propaganda on national TV, calls Ukrainian government a bunch of n*zis while his troops are marching on Ukrainian soil plastered with "Z" symbols and shelling civilian targets. He is also rapidly implementing laws in his country which prohibit Russian citizens from freely expressing their mind and criticize their government. I hope you are smarter than to believe anything Putin says. This is war, people will suffer and they will suffer massively, unfortunately. If you're the expert on foreign affairs and diplomatic solutions, please tell us, what has to be done, so the efforts don't seem to be "minimal". So far, it has not been the approach. We're on the verge of a nuclear war and world leaders are doing everything to avoid escalation. I commend every Russian brave enough to oppose their government and protest against the war. I have nothing but respect for those people as they are risking their freedom to speak their mind. It has always been the case in autocratic governments. The kleptocrats are filling their pockets at the expense of the populace. I can only hope there will be serious changes in Russian government. I understand. It is not my goal to aggravate the situation further, but rather rationalize the decision made by Fiverr. None of us know the full truth behind this decision, the best we can do is have an informed opinion about it. I really do hope this war ends soon and all Russian freelancers can get back working on the platform. Most regular open-minded people know this. In terms of politics, though, Putin and his oligarch friends is Russia, unfortunately.
  19. I try not wish ill to anyone, even Russians, believe me or not. As far as I know, while restricted, the Russia's borders are not yet closed for its citizens if they have a valid visa. I live in Lithuania - a Post-Soviet country near the Russian border. On March 11, 1990, our country declared that it was an independent nation, the first of the Soviet republics to do so. I will never get to experience what you're experiencing, because if Russia decides to invade our country once again, I will have to take up arms and fight for my country and my freedom. Our country has never been more united for the one and only goal - help Ukraine in any way possible. Our MFA has already deported 4 employees of the Russian embassy for illegal activity in our country. I root for Ukrainians every day and wish them to win this war, because they are fighting not only for themselves, but for the whole Europe and and the principles of democracy. Sanctions are not supposed to be felt instantly. They are supposed to slow down the economy of the country slowly. They also seem to be one of the few ways to interfere into this invasion without causing escalation. The answer is, yes, they did. From Belarus too. Not all the countries, but a lot of them, Lithuania included. Not yet, and hopefully never, because that would not end up well for anyone. Sadly, in this situation, it seems to be the answer. I would like to have as much optimism as you do, but the reality is different. If you would have taken at least a tiny glimpse at what Putin was talking about in the last decade, you would not even write this comment.
  20. Let me offer you some perspective. 115 children have been killed, 140 have been injured since the start of the invasion. Overall, 636 civilians have been killed, 1125 have been injured and over 3 million have fled their country as of 15th of March according to Kyiv Independent. These are only the recorded numbers, the real number is bound to be higher. Fiverr amongst other businesses took a stand and made a decision to not contribute to those numbers. It doesn't matter how much you pay in taxes, the fact that you do is enough. I understand your point. I don't know enough about tax laws in Russia so I cannot comment on the percentage of taxes a freelancer has to pay in your country, but what I do know is that everyone has to pay taxes. If you avoid paying taxes, that doesn't mean that every Russian freelancer does the same. Your personal decision to avoid paying taxes is not an excuse for Fiverr to continue indirectly contributing to Russia's invasion of a sovereign country and slaughtering its people. Fiverr doesn't, you do. And you pay taxes from the income Fiverr provides.
  21. My heart goes out to both Ukrainian and Russian people. It's a cruel war and as in every war, civilians are the victims. While Russian freelancers are getting sanctioned, Ukrainian freelancers are unable to work because they either have to flee their country or join the fighting force. To all the people saying that these sanctions don't make sense, because they are targeting regular working people, you have to understand one thing - Every ruble you pay in taxes is directly financing Putin's army and his invasion of Ukraine. You cannot blame Fiverr or any other business for deciding to cut ties with your country, you can only blame your "president". It's horrible seeing how much the whole population of Russia is suffering because of one delusional kleptocrat in power, but such is life and such is war. These sanctions are only the beginning and everything indicates it will get worse. There is a saying - “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Today, you are not allowed to call this war by it's true name, tomorrow you will be on the frontlines of the "special operation", "liberating" Ukrainian children and women. There's always a choice you can make.
  22. I would agree, as with everything, consistency tends to be key. I am experiencing some turbulence at the moment, but that has also something to do with the fact that I only have one gig which is bringing in clients. Still need some time to build a stronger foundation with additional gigs, but focusing a lot on one gig doesn't seem to be a bad idea in the beginning. Best of luck on your journey! Thank you. I've checked your seller profile, you have some beautiful art going on there! Best of luck on your journey.
  23. Like Don Quixote fighting against windmills. I commend your efforts 😄
