  1. Putin also calls his invasion of an independent sovereign country a "special operation", spreads massive amounts of propaganda on national TV, calls Ukrainian government a bunch of n*zis while his troops are marching on Ukrainian soil plastered with "Z" symbols and shelling civilian targets. He is also rapidly implementing laws in his country which prohibit Russian citizens from freely expressing their mind and criticize their government. I hope you are smarter than to believe anything Putin says. This is war, people will suffer and they will suffer massively, unfortunately. If you're the expert on foreign affairs and diplomatic solutions, please tell us, what has to be done, so the efforts don't seem to be "minimal". So far, it has not been the approach. We're on the verge of a nuclear war and world leaders are doing everything to avoid escalation. I commend every Russian brave enough to oppose their government and protest against the war. I have nothing but respect for those people as they are risking their freedom to speak their mind. It has always been the case in autocratic governments. The kleptocrats are filling their pockets at the expense of the populace. I can only hope there will be serious changes in Russian government. I understand. It is not my goal to aggravate the situation further, but rather rationalize the decision made by Fiverr. None of us know the full truth behind this decision, the best we can do is have an informed opinion about it. I really do hope this war ends soon and all Russian freelancers can get back working on the platform. Most regular open-minded people know this. In terms of politics, though, Putin and his oligarch friends is Russia, unfortunately.
  2. I try not wish ill to anyone, even Russians, believe me or not. As far as I know, while restricted, the Russia's borders are not yet closed for its citizens if they have a valid visa. I live in Lithuania - a Post-Soviet country near the Russian border. On March 11, 1990, our country declared that it was an independent nation, the first of the Soviet republics to do so. I will never get to experience what you're experiencing, because if Russia decides to invade our country once again, I will have to take up arms and fight for my country and my freedom. Our country has never been more united for the one and only goal - help Ukraine in any way possible. Our MFA has already deported 4 employees of the Russian embassy for illegal activity in our country. I root for Ukrainians every day and wish them to win this war, because they are fighting not only for themselves, but for the whole Europe and and the principles of democracy. Sanctions are not supposed to be felt instantly. They are supposed to slow down the economy of the country slowly. They also seem to be one of the few ways to interfere into this invasion without causing escalation. The answer is, yes, they did. From Belarus too. Not all the countries, but a lot of them, Lithuania included. Not yet, and hopefully never, because that would not end up well for anyone. Sadly, in this situation, it seems to be the answer. I would like to have as much optimism as you do, but the reality is different. If you would have taken at least a tiny glimpse at what Putin was talking about in the last decade, you would not even write this comment.
  3. Let me offer you some perspective. 115 children have been killed, 140 have been injured since the start of the invasion. Overall, 636 civilians have been killed, 1125 have been injured and over 3 million have fled their country as of 15th of March according to Kyiv Independent. These are only the recorded numbers, the real number is bound to be higher. Fiverr amongst other businesses took a stand and made a decision to not contribute to those numbers. It doesn't matter how much you pay in taxes, the fact that you do is enough. I understand your point. I don't know enough about tax laws in Russia so I cannot comment on the percentage of taxes a freelancer has to pay in your country, but what I do know is that everyone has to pay taxes. If you avoid paying taxes, that doesn't mean that every Russian freelancer does the same. Your personal decision to avoid paying taxes is not an excuse for Fiverr to continue indirectly contributing to Russia's invasion of a sovereign country and slaughtering its people. Fiverr doesn't, you do. And you pay taxes from the income Fiverr provides.
  4. My heart goes out to both Ukrainian and Russian people. It's a cruel war and as in every war, civilians are the victims. While Russian freelancers are getting sanctioned, Ukrainian freelancers are unable to work because they either have to flee their country or join the fighting force. To all the people saying that these sanctions don't make sense, because they are targeting regular working people, you have to understand one thing - Every ruble you pay in taxes is directly financing Putin's army and his invasion of Ukraine. You cannot blame Fiverr or any other business for deciding to cut ties with your country, you can only blame your "president". It's horrible seeing how much the whole population of Russia is suffering because of one delusional kleptocrat in power, but such is life and such is war. These sanctions are only the beginning and everything indicates it will get worse. There is a saying - “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Today, you are not allowed to call this war by it's true name, tomorrow you will be on the frontlines of the "special operation", "liberating" Ukrainian children and women. There's always a choice you can make.
  5. I would agree, as with everything, consistency tends to be key. I am experiencing some turbulence at the moment, but that has also something to do with the fact that I only have one gig which is bringing in clients. Still need some time to build a stronger foundation with additional gigs, but focusing a lot on one gig doesn't seem to be a bad idea in the beginning. Best of luck on your journey! Thank you. I've checked your seller profile, you have some beautiful art going on there! Best of luck on your journey.
  6. Like Don Quixote fighting against windmills. I commend your efforts 😄
  7. I apologize for hijacking the post, but it's very important for anyone abroad wanting to help, to know how. Every Ukrainian needs our help and we can help here and now. You can donate to Ukraine's support funds and help Ukrainian soldiers and civiliands directly. Donate to Ukrainian support funds: • Come Back Alive (Повернись живим) - a Ukrainian NGO that has been assisting Ukrainian troops with essential military equipment since 2014: https://savelife.in.ua/en/donate/ • Ukrainian Red Cross: https://redcross.org.ua/en/donate/ Before donating, please research all support funds on your own and donate at your own discretion. Here are some more funds that would benefit from our support and trusted media sources from: https://help-ukraine.crd.co/
  8. Fiverr platform has at least three ways to report users for inappropriate behaviour. Fiver forum has one - message the mod. I would really appreciate an option to report users efficiently and without the hassle. I'm getting really tired of spammers, who litter all over the forum every day with their nonsense replies and reactions on every single post ever made, which also messes with forum notifications. Not to mention, the "experts", who are spreading misinformation which can be downright harmful. An option to report users easily and efficiently would be very much appreciated and I'm a bit baffled it does not exist yet.
  9. @elementor_ Hey buddy, would you mind not spamming reactions on every single post I've ever made? You have given 11.5 k reactions in three weeks, which is roughly 547 reactions per day. I'm not sure if anyone told you yet, but having an undeserved forum badge does not increase sales on your seller profile. Why don't you find something better to do instead of being a nuisance, yeah?

Have you even read my message? If you love fiverr community so much, why not stop the spamming and actually engage with the community?

  10. Thank you, you're very kind. Honestly, I don't think you can spend too much time on your gig 😄 seems like there's always something to optimize or improve. Be patient, but be proactive, you'll get there. 👍 Thank you. I'm sure an established seller such as yourself could tell a great story. If you decide to do a post like this, I would be interested. Thank you for your kind words, Nik. I wrote this post for everyone as much as for myself. It's helpful to look back, remember my own struggles and understand my own strengths and weaknesses. If new sellers can take one thing away from this is that that you have to put in work. Doesn't matter what service you provide, where you start or what your circumstances are, you have to put in work. It seems elementary, but I see countless new sellers who would rather refresh their Fiverr profile twenty four hours a day and pray to their favorite God than put any real effort into their skills and knowledge. Hi Tia, I will have to disappoint you, but I don't have any tips. After receiving those reviews, I analyzed my own mistakes and tried to fix them (which included overhauling my gigs and working on my communication). While the Fiverr's choice badge does take seller's metrics into consideration, I also got lucky. It definitely was a bumpy ride, can't argue with that 😄
  11. For anyone abroad wanting to give direct and immediate support to Ukraine in the time of conflict, you may donate to their official funds: Come Back Alive (Повернись живим) is a Ukrainian non-governmental organization that has been helping Ukrainian soldiers since 2014 by supplying essential military equipment: https://savelife.in.ua/en/donate/ Ukrainian Red Cross society provides first aid in areas where access to medical services are limited, establishes сommunication and raises awareness of health risks: https://redcross.org.ua/en/ After doing some research I found that those two funds seem to be the most trust-worthy, transparent and proactive. Before donating, please make sure to do your own research and donate at your own risk. Ukraine needs our help and while prayers are nice, a direct financial support is much more vital.
  12. Getting straight to the point, I see. First off, this topic is not about getting your first order. There is plenty of information on the forum about what to focus on when you first start out on the platform. Secondly, I've checked your posts and saw that @imagination7413 has replied to you with some useful information, which you don't seem to even have bothered to read. Something tells me that whatever answer I 'd give you would be of no use. Thank you, I'm glad you found it useful. 😊 I always enjoy reading stories of other sellers as well. I find a lot of inspiration there and also feel better prepared for the inevitable hiccups that await along the way. Best of luck on your journey as well! While there are many sellers who are wildly more successful than me, I do take pride in my progress. I think it's really important to take a step back and evaluate your own situation as accurately as possible. I found a bit of success on the platform and I think the course of action is to only build on that. Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful 😊
  13. Today is the 25th of February and it marks exactly one year since I created my seller account on Fiverr. I thought it would be a good opportunity to reflect on this journey and share my experience with you. ✍️ After setting up my profile and my first gig, it took me about two weeks to receive my first order. To my surprise, the client wasn‘t exactly asking for what I was offering, but after some researching and trying different things, I managed to find a solution and deliver what they needed. This order as well as a few others made me realize that there‘s demand for a service that I could provide but wasn‘t focusing on. I changed my gig entirely, started learning additional software, and polished my profile regularly. 👷‍♂️ As you can see from my analytics, in the first three months (starting on February) I was barely getting any orders or making money. In fact, I was at a loss, since I invested in different software which would enable me to deliver my orders to a higher standard. ⬆️ In June, orders seemed to pick up a bit and in August I earned more than a minimum wage in Lithuania while working on Fiverr part-time. This was a great achievement for me and proof that Fiverr has the potential to be a substantial income stream if utilized correctly. 💼 In the same month, I received my first negative review, followed by a second negative review on the same day. I was distraught. I turned to the forum and found great advice from experienced sellers on how to act in this situation. My overall review score dropped to 4.7 and for the next two months, I felt the consequences of that day. 📉 Needless to say, it was a learning experience. In October, I managed to climb back to a 4.9 review score, in November my gig was chosen for a Fiverr's choice badge and in December I reached level 2 and had the most successful month up to this day. 🚀 In early January I uploaded a video to my gig. I felt confident that I can offer a better quality service than most of my competitors and raised my prices. I let my returning clients know that their next order would be discounted to make the transition a bit smoother. 🧈 Right now I‘m finishing up my main gig (designing a portfolio PDF for the gig gallery) and slowly working on additional gigs. My plan for this year is to further develop my skills, do lots and lots of market research, and have at least 3 fully fleshed-out gigs by the end. ✔️ Throughout this journey, I was an active member of the forum and it has been an invaluable experience for me. From dealing with difficult clients to mental health issues, I knew that there would be people here who are willing to help and give advice. For that, I am very grateful and I hope we can continue the meaningful conversation going despite the problems this forum has been facing. 💖 Overall, Fiverr has been a great experience so far and I get excited thinking of ways I can and will improve. I still have lots to learn, but for some reason, I feel calm about the future. 😎 Do you guys have interesting stories from your own time on the platform? I would be very curious to learn how you got started, grew, and achieved the goals you set out for yourselves. 😉 Here‘s to our future goals and achievements! 🏆
  14. I have received 3 briefs so far and had to decline all of them simply because I did not have enough information. The lack of the ability to communicate with a potential client is plain foolish. Everyone knows it should be there, seems to me like a conscious choice not to include this option for whatever reason. I guess if you'd want to get any value from this feature, you would have to encourage the client not to accept your offer and to discuss the project further. 🤦‍♂️ In BRs you are also unable to directly message the clients, but at least the descriptions of their requests are more elaborate for the most part.
  15. Your portraits are quite skillfully drawn, well done! My favorite would also have to be the “Girl in the Shadows”. The inverted drawing technique is quite difficult to get the hang of and I think you managed to control the shading really well. The strong contrast gives your drawing depth and the dramatic gaze tells us a story that we can interpret in our own way. No joke, it looks amazing! You should be proud. Some of the most beautiful people are a bit crazy, nothing wrong with that. 😄
  16. This topic is such a breath of fresh air. Love seeing people expressing themselves in different mediums, keep 'em comming!
  17. Skill tests give you more credibility, they do not influence your SERP ranking as far as I know.
  18. ⬆️ Achieving a fiverr level is an opportunity to reach a wider audience, in no way, shape, or form does it guarantee you more orders. You have to put in work, don't expect fiverr to babysit you.
  19. That was a wonderful interpretation, thank you! It has a political connotation as well, but it's quite subtle. You got the strength and calmness combination perfectly. Your piece is lovely! The gold coating gives it this luxurious feeling, and the texture makes the painting dynamic and interesting. I bet it looks great on your walls 😊 Great illustration! Reminds me of some illustrations of my coursemate, her works are very delicate and detail-oriented and she also loves to draw various scenes with cartoon characters or characters that she thinks of herself.
  20. This was the case for me as well. People do tend to spend more in holiday season, but your earnings in said season also depend on the service one offers.
  21. Great topic! Hope to see more creations here 😊 Here's a painting I did in 2020, titled "river flows in you"
  22. Tattoos has always been an interesting subject to me. I have a few myself and I love seeing beautiful tattoos made by professional artists. However, more often than not, people tend to cheap out on tattoos. They wake up one day, decide they want huge angel wings on their back and go to the cheapest tattoo artist they can find, who has no license, no qualifications and no regards for sterile instruments. I always tell people that they should think about their tattoos for some time and save up before they decide to get it. Tattoos are not cheap and if they are, they will probably get a lot more expensive when one decides to remove or cover them up after looking in the mirror. I remember, when I got my first tattoo, I was waiting in the waiting room and a woman came to reception asking to book an appointment with. After a lengthy conversation, the tattoo artist did not agree to book an appointment as he deemed the tattoo idea to be unprofessional. I was pleasantly surprised, and at that point I knew for sure that I was in good hands with my tattoo. I think that's how it should be. Yes, you can argue that it's client's money and they can do whatever they want with it, but I think that as a professional tattoo artist, one has certain responsibilities when it comes to modifying other people's bodies.
  23. ⬆️ You increase your forum rank by being a productive member on the forum. But since you're asking this question, I doubt it's on your list.
  24. You're not 12 hours active. You're wasting 12+ hours a day doing nothing and expecting clients to flock to your profile. Your gig images go against almost every suggestion fiverr has for creating a professional gig image. This article is a good place to start: https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/4410883326481-Gig-image-guidelines-Making-the-most-of-your-Gig-image?segment=seller
  25. Hi @frank_d, thank you for updating us. This makes sense. For me personally, the seller+ program is not worth it just yet. Not because the benefits do not justify the price, but because I know I would not be able to use my success manager to full potential at this moment. I have gig videos and additional gigs in production and I think it makes sense to ask for guidance once I have a strong foundation. However, if joining the program will separate me from fake sellers who shill reviews, falsify their identity and clutter the market with low-quality gigs from multiple accounts, I might consider joining.
