  1. Well, in that case, I hope that at least we still have a few occasional congas and conga rats! 🏆 That's definitely a new one. I'm glad to hear that the reporting system is working as intended though.
  2. Some things never change, that's for certain. After creating this post I've received 50 notifications from members spam-liking different posts I've made. 😄 I see what you're saying. With a lot of good this forum has to offer comes a lot of the same problems that we've sort of gotten used to. I guess, now that I think about it, my main issue is that the "scroll past 'em" solution works, but also wastes time and energy, which could be used more productively. I have tried filtering out the categories on the forum SEO page, which helps a bit, but spam posts still manage to get in there. However, it's nice to see familiar faces on this post! I'll have to check it out, thank you!
  3. Hey everyone, long time no see! I must admit that I sort of left Fiverr forum or at least became inactive mostly due to constant mind-numbing, idiotic spam that has been overwhelming this forum for quite some time. Of course, it's not the only reason, other reasons are personal and have nothing to do with the forum itself. My question - Is it any better now? I find a lot of joy and meaning in occasional intellectually stimulating conversations with interesting people that can be had here, but the flood of meaningless ignorant posts just made it a bit too hard to search for conversations worth having.
  4. I love the fact that in the gig image your glasses match the color scheme of the main typographic design. The gig looks to be quite fleshed-out, but maybe adding more gig images, a presentation or a video could improve it.
  5. Maximum is not enough. About 26-27 hours a day is reqiuered.
  6. I noticed that as well, messages seem to be lagging a bit. Also, earlier today whenever I would go to my inbox, my interface would turn to a buyer's interface with all the seller tools at the top disappearing 😄 At least that seems to be fixed now.
  7. I'm glad to hear you're doing okay. That is definitely one of the biggest strengths of freelancing. There may be exceptions if you can find work at a great company, but for the most part, freelancing does feel more meaningful. The responsibility is solely on your own shoulders, which makes success that much more satisfying. Just recently I had to leave a party early, because I had an order with extra delivery. I think this sort of thing needs a bit of getting used to. I do find strict deadlines motivating though. This is probably my favorite one 😄 I also enjoy cooking at home, which is a lot healthier and cheaper than say, a takeout at a lunch brake. I know many people like to bring their own food to work, but I am yet to reach this level of planning 😄
  8. I agree with this, I can see the incentive behind this system, but it feels forced and rushed. I only have 5 posts per day, I'm not sure if it's because of my forum rank badge or reputation, but I can say it's not enough to have a continuous conversation. Also, this post limit seems to extend to personal messages on the forum, so once you reach your post limit, you're not even able to reply to private messages for the next 24 hours. 🤷‍♂️
  9. I can relate to this as well. You get to chose exactly what type of service you want to provide and improve your skills in that particular area at the same time. For example, if you're a graphic designer and you get hired by a company, you might be assigned to design social media posts, posters and brochures, but if you're really into book cover or music album cover designs, you might not even get the chance to exercise your skills in these particular niches. Of course, a graphic designer should be versatile, but it might hinder your true potential if you're really passionate about a specific field of work.
  10. Communicating in proper sentences might be a good start. There is plenty of helpful information on the forum if you took the time to look it up.
  11. While it is true for paid holidays, there is compensation for sick leave, at least here in Lithuania. Although the first two days are not compensated and it does involve some paper work. This is true, but I also pay less taxes than I would when working a regular job, which almost fully cover those expenses. inconsistent income is definitely a part of it. But for me personally, the absence of income ceiling is part of what makes freelancing exciting. It can be quite stressful at times, but I think it becomes less of an issue once one gets more established.
  12. Hey guys, Recently I have been thinking about freelancing in general and comparing it to regular jobs. As with most things, it doesn't seem to be only black and white and I would like to discuss the differences and subtle nuances between these two types of career paths and hear your opinion. To me, freelancing is more of a business model than a job. You've got branding, marketing, service, customer support, and all the things required to run a successful business. I've realized early on that if I wanted to earn money doing what I enjoy, I have to exercise and understand these different elements of business. And while this journey is seemingly daunting at first, it can also be really fun and exciting. While there are many pros and cons of freelancing, I picked the ones that stood out to me: Pro: Mobility. This one might not be universal for everyone, as I know many of you have studios and dedicated workspaces. But for me personally, it has been one of the biggest pros as I can travel and work at the same time. Con: No set work hours. While there are semi-effective ways around it, I've had plenty of orders come in at 2 AM on the weekend, which makes it a con for me personally. I might want to utilize the availability function more in the future, but at least for now it seems wise to be available on the weekends. What are your biggest pros and cons of freelancing? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
  13. @vickiespencer Thank you for the link! I appreciate it. Now I just need to wait out my sentence😄

Why do you have a sentence?

I was being jailed by the forum. Could not post or even reply to private messages due to daily post limit 😄 Still found a way to reply to you, although the post limit sure does make communication a bit difficult. Thank you once again for your time and the link, I'm already putting it to good use. 😊

  14. What?! Actual helpful tips for sellers on this forum?! I must be dreaming 😄 Congratulations on your 700th order and thank you for your great insights, which I'm sure we can all learn something from. Best of luck and looking forward to your 800th order post 🏆
  15. Here is a post that might help you diagnose the problem: I would suggest analyzing your profile as well as your gigs and see how you're able to improve it.
  16. Starting your own business is never easy, glad to hear you're making good progress. Best of luck on your business! The longest brake I have taken from Fiverr was probably 4 days. I haven't noticed a big difference once I got back to being available, but I imagine that taking long brakes (for example a month or half a year) can make it difficult to get back on track. I'm not sure how the level system works in this case, as I've seen level 2 sellers who had their last delivery 6 or more months ago, but I think the biggest issue would be that your returning clients would have found another seller for their projects by the time you return.
  17. Here is a post that will probably answer most questions you may have about the poor performance of your gig.
  18. @frank_d I saw your post a bit earlier, but left it as a treat for later 😄 I really appreciate your posts as they not only contain invaluable insights for sellers of all sizes, but they also inspire us to push further that much more, no matter where we are at in our journey. Without getting too much into the metrics of seller's performance, it's reassuring to know that if we deliver top-quality service as well as make sure our clients have a great experience, we are good to go. I hope you had a fantastic birthday and looking forward to your new posts!🥳🎂
  19. As an intelligent individual you still could not refrain from threatening me, I see. Keep it. I have learned that this thread is not a place to have a civil discussion and thus I won't be participating in it going forward. You have made some great points in your reply and I appreciate your input. However, the arguments on both sides are redundant at this point and to me it seems wise to leave it there. I have offered a different perspective which you can take it as you will. I naively hope that these sanctions are only temporary and everything can get back to normal soon. Best of luck.
  20. @bradmitzelfelt Hey, if personally insulting me helps you better sleep at night, whatever floats your boat. I can only point out that the insults start flying once the arguments run out. Best of luck to you. 👍
  21. Are you sure? It seems to me like you are quite certain which side you're on and now that your "no, you" argument has not garnered sympathy, you're virtue signaling and pretending to be apathetic on both sides. That's very honorable of you. I took a screenshot of your posts because I knew they would be deleted quickly. I'll upload them here so people can see what you're really about when they read your posts.
  22. No one here is having an outrage, ******* post is full of confident statements without any substantial follow-ups or arguments whatsoever. I'm going to leave it there. I see your point. However, I would like to point out that Twitch and Youtube are very different to Fiverr. They belong in the internet video hosting and video livestreaming industries respectively, while Fiverr is an online freelance service provider. On Fiverr, every order is monetized, while on Twitch and Youtube it is not the case for every stream and video. For example, it is estimated that only 0.25% of channels on Youtube are actually monetized. I accept the fact that Russian freelancers pay less taxes than regular Russian workers or in many cases generally avoid paying taxes. I have looked into it and it seems to be true. In Lithuania I pay less taxes while freelancing than working a regular job as well. However, it seems clear to me that these sanctions were enforced to have an economical impact as well as disassociate Fiverr from Russia's invasion of an independent sovereign country. They clearly made a decision to stand with Ukraine as most rest of the world also did. I will not accept that these sanctions were enforced for the sole purpose of virtue signaling. Anyone who has at least some understanding of the concept of sanctions will know that this decision can be very costly for Fiverr itself and such decisions are not made easily. It is a common tactic in war to use dead bodies to deter and demoralize the opposing force. Ukrainians are not even the most creative nation in this matter. My best guess would be that you're probably talking about Russian separatists and saboteurs without even knowing it. That's incorrect. What they do is they tie them up to street signs in freezing cold to make an example out of them. You see, it would not be very helpful for Ukrainian populace if everyone took advantage of an ongoing war and started looting. But what do I know, you probably live there and know what's best for them. By saying "we", who are you referring to, exactly? Exactly right. You answered your own question. 🤷‍♂️ You know, when most people from outside of Russia think of Russia, they think *****.*********.
  23. It's interesting seeing how all of the sudden not a single Russian freelancer is apparently paying taxes in this forum. However, on Quora Russian freelancers are helping each other calculate and pay their taxes. My grandfather amongst thousands of Lithuanians was exiled to Syberia during the Soviet era, where he used to use garlic instead of a toothbrush. I know that the freedom I have today required a lot of suffering and pain of my people and I understand it very well. There are thousands of brave Russians who are fighting for peace even though they might face severe consequences. There are thousands of Ukrainians who are standing unarmed in front of Russian tanks shouting for them to go home. They understand how important their role is and they take responsibility for themselves and their country. If you think that complaining about your lost privilege to use Fiverr is the most you can do in your situation, you do you.
  24. My goal with these posts is to have a discussion about a topic that is deeply important to me and to every Lithuanian and hopefully offer a different perspective. Sanctions are very complicated political and economical tools. Saying that they do not seem to work because you heard Russian "president" say so is ridiculous. Sanctions can be very costly to the entity enforcing them, and if Fiverr enforced these sanctions, they have an important reason to do so. Russian population is suffering and it seems that it will get worse, especially if this war evolves into a cold war. I will repeat, sanctions are one of the few ways to interfere with the invasion without causing escalation and many huge businesses have already acted on it despite the potential losses they may incur. It's by no means a perfect tool, but it's the tool we have at the moment. I would love this conflict to end without more human suffering, but any sane person can look at the situation and realize it is not going to happen. Russians who direct their anger towards Fiverr, or Ikea, or any other business enforcing sanctions on their country should really think if they're directing their anger towards the right entity. It's an unfortunate situation for Russian citizens, but not as unfortunate as for Ukrainian citizens who either died, lost their homes or had to flee their country in fear of not waking up the next time they close their eyes.
