  1. Which makes all the sense in the world. Alternatively, OP, you can shut down too many questions by someone you're sure is trying to "spy" on you by telling them them that you're successfully doing your job since x years, and know the workflow, and that there's no reason to worry and they can simply order and leave the troublesome details to you. An actual question you should first ask and answer yourself, though, is if you'd want to work with them if they'd turn around and want to order, after all. It's not necessarily the case, but if someone acts like that, there might be a chance that they'd still try to get the work out of you for free, once you delivered, by means of unjustified revisions, willfully pestering you in the hope you'll cancel, chargeback, or such. When you're sure you don't want to work with someone who's acting dubiously and also want to avoid any kind of discussion or other trouble, a briefly polite "I'm sorry, I can't help you." (no "if you don't want to order from me" or anything), and then blocking them, might be the best course of action.
  2. This is my actual concern with all the AI content, not so much that serious people in writing or other businesses lose their jobs, at least not if they find together with the customers who still didn't get infected by the zombies, but what it's going to do to "our" brains in the big picture. Oh, and the giant time waste, already bad now - like you have to click away bazillions of inconsequential and or uninteresting web pages when leisurely reading or seriously researching, or every second YT page you open, as it's yet just another abhorrently amateurish attempt at generating views for potential monetisation, totally AI, from script to "choice" of clips to VO - which is exponentially multiplying now, with the waves that ChatGPT makes, or that people make with around ChatGPT. It's like parents let their toddlers loose with those super annoying "instrument" plastic toys, whose only point in favour is that you could use them to draw attention in an emergency, wearing top-notch noise-cancelling earphones, listening to actual music themselves, in a formerly somewhat awesome library full of youth and adults who just want to peacefully learn or entertain themselves, probably even other toddlers who want to quietly read their picture book. 😉 🎣 Virtual earphones coder and seller might be among the new exciting opportunities that this wave supposedly is creating for the artists of all colours whose jobs are getting taken over by the zombies...
  3. I almost forgot about the getting paid part!😅 I'm glad you're here to remind me about monetizing things! Looks like I should get this set up Yes, thanks for those reminders. This "prove that you won't deliver ChatGPT cr...stuff like that other seller we hired" thing isn't as easy for sellers operating with other languages, though, in my case, it would usually be useless, as I could only prove my fluency in English, but not in the target language, which the content that the buyer will receive is in, and the buyer typically doesn't speak the target language, which is why they are looking to hire me. Like Vicky, I also had a "verify yourself, because we got AI stuff from another seller" request recently, and it would have required breaking Fiverr ToS, so, nope. I'd really appreciate it if Fiverr would do something to make buyers acutely aware of the "community only on Fiverr" policy. I wouldn't go as far as asking Fiverr to tell buyers also that they shouldn't expect sellers to send them a scan of their ID, though, as that really should be a given and I probably don't want to work with people who get the idea to ask me for that anyway, but, yeah, a super short version of the most important ToS while signing up or ad banners when people start their account, "communication only on Fiverr" would save both sellers and buyers time and awkwardness.
  4. Maybe a moderator could open one of those "clubs" for the topic and move this thread there, to have it off the general forum and only visible for people who actually actively work on Fiverr, as some might be uncomfortable writing so "hyper-publicly". On the other hand, it might be more difficult to find as a club, so I'm not sure which would be better. It's certainly an important topic, in any case, and probably will only become more important, with more and more people working from home and in the Gig economy environment, with "only" other freelancers as colleagues, only online.
  5. Don't sell babies! I'm sure it's against some or other policy! Jokes apart, your question is like the famous "How long is a piece of string?" one, or let's reword it to "Is a piece of string long enough?" for a better match. Too imprecise, and there are too many factors that play a role to give an answer other than "competition is low enough for you if you can manage to get enough orders despite the competition." Focus on the really important things, like offering something you're good at, ideally better than the competition.
  6. When I learned about haiku, they were supposed to have 5-7-5 syllables. I guess one could argue wether "AI" is 1 or 2, kind of, but I wouldn't accept "In the digital age" as 5 if I was a client for sure.
  7. Yes, not that anyone claims they couldn't join forces with the AI because the algorithm sneakily left them out of it. At least any Grand Master who's worth their forum salt should know now 😉 May the AI force be with you. Or may the event bring you insights and ideas if you're part of the rebellion. Either side has cookies, I'm sure, so nothing much to fear.
  8. Leaving this webinar link here, for anyone reading and interested, who didn't see it in "Events": https://events.fiverr.com/joiningforceswithai Joining Forces With Generative AI Feb 22, 2023 8:00AM - 9:00AM PST
  9. I get plenty of briefs that state "flexible" as budget, so there must be an option (perhaps it's a bit "hidden") to not choose a number somewhere, or maybe you can leave it blank, or skip the step. If you have a rough idea about how much it should cost, you could set that as budget, and add in your brief that you just added a tentative number, as you don't know how much it might cost; like that, you'll probably not miss out on offers by higher-qualified sellers who might not react to briefs with too low budgets for the work involved. On seller side, we can either send a quote or just a message, to let the writer of the brief know we're interested and they can contact us for further discussion, or a custom offer based on the work required, or whatever other factors.
  10. Was going to say, I hope the definition of 'relevant' is not about the same as for briefs, or many buyers might not be amused, haha. To *a* conversation, and *a* relevant Gig, when they click *your* Contact Card? Not to a conversation window with *you*/relevant Gig *of yours*? Do I need more coffee, or is this somewhat weird? Or maybe it only sounds somewhat weird? It's not another version of like when your Gig made people interested enough to click and scroll down your Gig description page, they'll get shown similar Gigs by other sellers, is it?
  11. No! No, you'll certainly get through this, but it's really annoying, mean people out there. I hope none of your customers clicked that link, and if any did, or even if not, that they won't lose their trust in the platform due to this happening. Hope you'll get full access to your account again very soon!
  12. Probably. I thought that the clubs might give people who don't know enough English to not resort to copying and pasting someone else's comment instead of writing at least a very basic post themselves, a place to discuss in their own language. Well, yes, if I read on a forum and don't have anything to say, typically, I just say nothing, in any case, I don't copy and paste other people's comments. Well, I am a spoilt brat.
  13. No no, you didn't 🙂 Since mandyzines wrote about denying low-paying offers, my thinking was that she'd have a higher average selling price than people who pick up low-paying offers, and that higher average selling price should be a + in the algorithm's eyes, so it might counter the potential - of denying low-paying offers. Blue-Eyes White Dragon is a rare and valuable card = HIGH average selling price 🙂
  14. I don't know, esteemed moderators, but if this kind of thing keeps getting worse, many actual forum users who don't just copy and re-post others' posts, or post bot-generated posts, might trickle away. I mean, it's always been a not too rare occurrence to see 1 such post in a topic, but 3 in a row...? , indeed!
  15. Hello Hikari, Welcome to the forum! You can add 2 or so PDFs to your Gig in addition to the 3 Gig images, so you could show some more of your art, which surely would be helpful. This forum category is one of the only two (My Fiverr Gig being the other one), where it's allowed to post a link to one's Gig, so, maybe that would help with getting more replies, if people don't have to look you up on the main site.
  16. Maybe you can counter the effects of the Low-Paying Offer card by summoning your Blue-Eyes White Dragon card, sorry... whatsitcalled on Fiverr, let me check Analytics... Avg. Selling Price card!
  17. It's a new menu entry, "Translations Beta", on the actual Gig editing page per Gig. You can enter a title and description, even upload separate Gig images, apparently, but I haven't edited my images yet for this, just done the "translations" and saved them, after getting the notification today. A pop-up says it might take a while to review, so I guess they'll check the translations manually, thus, probably, it's just a feature for perhaps the languages that have a "local Fiverr", so far. I'll add edited image sets, when I'll find the time to edit my images. I'm writing "translations", as I had to shorten/re-write a lot, to make the translation fit the character limit... I hope that won't be an issue, and they told the reviewers about the character limit, so they won't be like "Yeah, nice, but this isn't a translation! Does this person even know what they wrote in their English description?!" 😅 It isn't as easy as just dropping the last two paragraphs of the description, after all. The new 💠SHINY💠
  18. The topic title says it. THANK YOU for the beta feature for adding a manual Gig title and description translation, it's a fantastic option, and, indeed, should be a basic, at least for Gigs dealing in language services. I really hope that this feature will get out of the beta phase, and also understand that it may take a while to review the added manual translations, of course, it's a lot of work, just as manual translations are, compared to AI ones. Alas, when following the prompt to add a manual translation to the Gig description, I got to see my Gig, including tagline and bio, in the auto-translated version, and... let's just say it's subpar, so, pretty please, add the option to translate our tagline and bio manually. Also, please can you revisit your decision or coding that doesn't allow upper-case in Gig titles? I get that you don't want SELLErZ to WRITE thEir TItlES lIKE ThIS, but it's super embarrassing for translators and other people offering language service, when the system changes their English, etc., to english. It's surely possible to make exceptions for language and country names somehow? 🙂
  19. Definitely try what Vickie says, just to add that your success with "training the AI" probably is highly dependent on which category your Gigs are in, and how the Brief feature works so far, as I'm "training the AI" since months, and still get mostly totally off-topic briefs, like...98-99%?, not sure, I don't want to waste even more time with it by keeping stats, I just keep "training it", by telling it either "I don't offer this service" (not in the slightest, brief system, and I have no idea why you send this my way after crawling my Gigs!, or maybe it's just buyers being too vague or stopping in the middle, when choosing from drop-downs, no idea)), or "buyer not credible/spam". Looking forward to getting, let's say, 50% on-topic briefs one day. Or at least 5. 😉
  20. I'd definitely not do it in case of people who didn't even buy from you, they might consider it as spam and even report it as such, it's not much work to press that button. I'd not do it on Fiverr, anyway, no matter if they bought or not, once upon a time, the jurisdiction seems to be too fleeting and volatile for unnecessary risks. Offline or "own" past customers or interested people, yes, why not, however, I'd come up with a fun or standing-out way, so it wouldn't be immediately perceived as just another spam mail, nobody needs more of that.
  21. Hi there. I've only seen this topic now, after your update, thanks for posting, that's interesting. If it is indeed as you concluded, that would very obviously be bad planning, application, or whatever, by Fiverr. I'm hoping that some other people who use and get subscriptions, will notice the thread and add their experience. Myself, I've added the subscription option to one but not my other Gigs, as I've had no good experience with the milestones feature, and thought that subscriptions might lead to the same issues. Nobody ordered a subscription Gig so far, however, so I can't really contribute my own data or conclusions.
  22. I suppose that many of you know what I'm talking about, if you're here long enough to have withdrawn revenue a few times. For some reason, sometimes, but not always, after you've withdrawn, you'll see a balance of not $0, as you'd expect, but $0.01. Not that I'm too concerned about this wayward cent, but I'm curious. Why does it happen? I know there are some people here who offer bookkeeping services, they might have an idea? Or was anyone brave enough to even bother support about it, and demand proper justification and documentation about the as seemingly randomly occurring as stray US$0.01? I'd also tag Tommy, aka Forum King Mooch the One and Only, in case Swifty has his hands in this somehow, but I'm a bit averse to tagging, so I'll just hope that if Swifty is indeed involved with this, he'll surely monitor the forum, and will provide Tommy with some elaborate window dressing of an explanation, that we can cherry-pick the actual reason out of, some of us, or not, but that's besides the point, it's about the story. Anyway. US$0.01 in our balance. How, why? And is there a way to avoid it, like only withdrawing in the small hours of full-moon nights?
  23. Something along the lines of "Phew, good, so this is a real thing, and wasn't just some sophisticatedly elaborate and skilled scheme to get my email address." Yes, I'm a natural sceptic. However, Fiverr has been nothing but stellar, a 5-star discovery. Person who placed the first order on my Gig back then, Thank You! (Just on the probably very off chance that you're reading this, and remember, too, been some years, I hope life's been good to you!) PS Fiverr, There's a missed chance in there, a badge and nice title for buyers who place the first order for a new seller, "Adventurer", or "Discoverer", or "Start-up Accelerator", or something.
  24. Sounds as if someone should code a browser plugin that slaps a "FANCY LORE IPSUM" banner over such articles; click-awayable, of course, so people who want to read something without much meaning, can do. Maybe there'll also be services like those, where you can read someone's summary of books about productivity, so you won't have to read a whole book, that will filter out the "not much meaning" content (that's not as easy as just identify artificial versus human, though ;)) and let's you read summaries of the "more meaning" and "much meaning" articles, condensed into "hyper-meaningful"... Or humankind, that is, the few specimen left who can focus long enough to read anything longer than a typical ad (actual ad, not advertorials or ads disguised as articles, that is, those do take some serious reading stamina to get through, of course), will stop reading and writing completely, leave the internet in the capable virtual hands of AIs which will monologue with each other, and spend their days 🎣.
  25. Yes, give the King what belongs to the King, i.e., espresso, of course. But now, with this song stuck in my head, thank you very much, I wonder whether Turn 'em on, turn 'em on Turn on those sad songs When all hope is gone Why don't you tune in and turn them on? was a prophetical pre-emption of the sad singers turning to ChatGPT to make the song even sadder by robbing them of the only thing they probably have going for them, their authenticity, and will have us soon wade knee-deep in sad songs on the forum, instead of only ankle-deep. But I'll do the right thing and turn to an espresso macchiato doppio, that will solve my wondering and send me back to work.
