    Probably 80% just say, let's proceed, and forget the discount. Some disappear, or say, no thanks.

    I am glad that you are realizing some additional success with higher rates. The people who ask for discounts are funny. It makes sense if you are buying goods, like a 24 pack of toothbrushes that you get a discount, but not when you are paying for someone's time. It's like, "You get $25 per hour to paint walls, buy I'll pay you $10 per hour if you paint 5 of them for me." I have never set a QR for that, I usually play confused and say, "I don't understand, why are you asking me to work for less than my standard wages." Works great.

    So the people who give discounts, or toss in usage rights, etc for free to get the sale, will actually be slowing their progress as opposed to those who hold the line. Can you have a discount?

    @frank_d So we get a gift on your birthday!. Another great set of insights. The ASP part is very interesting. Maybe we all need to work harder to ask "Do you want fries with that?" in order to move the needle with gig extra upsells. I hope you have the best birthday ever.

    OK, just got my first brief, and remembered this thread that @frank_d started. It came in as flexible/flexible and I can't understand how in the world I should have been able to help him. I just sent a standard offer for a VO of 150 words at $125, and he cancelled it right away. Appears that it was another VO actor trying to get work from me. This feature is really poorly thought out.

    Punishing powerless citizens of countries for the actions of their leaders is a new and very scary trend in the world.

    So while politicians wage war, Fiverr restricts the earning potential of powerless citizens to provide for their families? Punishing a graphic artist in Moscow means nothing to Putin and is merely virtue signaling. Starving the citizens of warring countries is immoral on either side. Families need to eat. That's what Fiverr should be concerned about.

    #1 is an epidemic all over the English speaking world. It seems no one can say "Button" any longer, it is almost always "Buh-inn."

    Accents can be fun to fool around with. I just find it amazing that anyone would buy a VO from someone faking it, when they could for example get a great American accent from an actual American, or hire an actual Brit instead of someone doing their Daphne impression from Frasier.

    You can always tell. My category is full of people who claim to be able to do either UK or American Voice Overs, and they are generally terrible at both. Either their fake American sounds like a surfer dude, or their fake UK sounds like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Authenticity is rare indeed.

    Yabla is very good for immersion, and to practice, I'd recommend iTalki for live practice once you get rolling.

    Actually, samples are usually discouraged here. It is a sure fire way to get ripped off as a seller. Asking for samples is the sign of an amateur or dishonest buyer and providing them is the sign of a noob seller who will regret it. Better to save yourself the trouble and just hire a L2, TRS or PRO seller. Simple.

    Only about 5 red flags on that scammer. Funny pitch, "Let me underpay you now so you can prove your skills, and then I will reward you by underpaying you on an ongoing basis." Morons.

    I understand why you want to make that claim, but please tell us about how you surveyed the millions of new sellers and determined their work quality and honesty. Or is this simply extracted from your nether region for the sake of making a sale?

    You really need to learn how Fiverr works. The forum is for fun, it has NOTHING to do with "ranking" your gig, or making sales. So you can relax and spam less.
