Fiverr auto-questions after delivery; anyone else?

s***e will inevitably become an option on Fiverr, because…

  1. Fiverr prides itself on being an innovative company.
  2. Fiverr can’t lag behind technically and survive the competition.
  3. Communication is the number one complaint among both Buyers and Sellers.
  4. Non-verbal language is a large part of business communication, s***e provides that.

Nobody will put a gun to your head to use s***e. Although, I suspect that Sellers that use it will get higher ranking than those that don’t because that’s the best way for Fiverr to track ROI.

I’m flattered that Fiverr chose to question me. I consider myself a “do’er” and “do’ers” like reasons to “do” better!

I don’t mind s***e calls. Outside of Fiverr I have daily meetings with my clients and it’s definitely more effective than sending messages back and forth. Making design changes and teaching clients how to use their Wordpress site is definitely easier through a screen sharing session.

That being said, s***e calls aren’t necessary for every service so I do hope it won’t become mandatory and it shouldn’t impact rankings.

My only concern with s***e calls is that there should be a scheduling option so that I wouldn’t get random calls when I’m working on a project. I should also be able to accept, decline and even block callers.

  1. Fiverr prides itself on being an innovative company.
  2. Fiverr can’t lag behind technically and survive the competition.

They are already falling behind because other platforms such as UpWork already provide video calls and screen sharing.

Fiverr started the “Do’er” campaign to combat negativity. I’ve found the best way to combat the negativity is to stay off the Forum.

It’s not a case of being negative - different people have different talents etc. You’re an actress, so you’re used to being in front of the camera etc., and I’m sure you’re very good at it.

Some of us aren’t so confident, and are quite happy to hide behind our monitors. I won’t even have a photo taken if I can avoid it. I also have a Scottish accent, which many English people struggle with, never mind anyone from further afield. Therefore, using s***e would cause me more problems than text based communication.

I do hope you can see my point.

Hell, I’m no supermodel, in fact what I offer has everything to do with the fact I’m not!!!

Take the advice of a 60 year old actress and turn your lemons into lemonade by having a positive outlook on everything. I could have retreated into reclusiveness because I don’t have the youthful good-looks of my competition. Instead, I found Fiverr and discovered there was a demand for unusual services, like that of an older actress.

If you think you’re going to fail by using s***e on Fiverr, you’re right. If you think you’re going to succeed by using s***e on Fiverr, you’re right. Either way you’re right.

Fiverr has shown me the power of positivite thinking, especially where self-esteem is concerned … I hope YOU can see my point!

Is ignoring all reasonable criticism of a platform (e.g. the fact that video isn’t that innovative, and other issue bought up). For example, how does this change TOS? Will Fiverr be using a third-party solution like this forum? How will it monitor whether people are abusing it (plain old abuse, or shifting business of site, the usual)? How will they pay for this? Who gets the squeeze when something invariably goes wrong?

Criticism is important, as is debate. I don’t think making one side “positive” (making the other “negative” by default) really works. The introduction of video chat is a fairly neutral point–the reason Fiverr is asking questions is because they want they information. So, you know, I think saying “it might be a shit idea because…” is just as valid as “doing” and being psyched for a possible new feature that may or may not materialize.

I do hate the sexist, ageist, and look-ist (I think that I just invented that word but that’s fine) nature of the entertainment/acting industry.

I saw a trailer for Beauty & The Beast today and couldn’t believe that they had given Emma what’s her face from Harry Potter the lead. She’s got about as much adult acting charisma as an ingrown toenail. - But needless to say, she’s got it because she’s young,

Personally, I’ve always thought it would be a good idea for someone to make a non-professional Youtube spoof series of one of the main UK soaps. i.e Westenders or the like.

You’d start it just being a spoof to get your audience but then start wowing people with real acting talent. That said, I’d be an awful actor.

I saw the article on daily mail and thought the exact same thing.

They could have used someone MUCH better to this iconic role.

Honestly, only on this forum would anyone try to argue that a company considering offering options to it’s users is a bad thing. Or, read about fear that Fiverr will make them do something against their will.

Just like the people who once opposed the use of electricity, they can choose to use it, or sit in the dark. Nobody will force them to sit in the dark, they will do that all by themselves.

That’s rather negative of you to say 😉

It’s just a questionnaire, and tbh, we’re all talking about your assumption rather than an option, so…

lol, I can relate to that! However, you can choose not to be visible when you s***e.

Skyping would help people improve their English speaking skills, and I would certainly enjoy picking up some of their languages too!

Fiverr would become more than a marketplace. It would become a cyber-world of cultural understanding using creative types like us!!!

Skyping would help people improve their English speaking skills

That opens up a can of worms if people can’t speak English in an understandable way.

I can’t see fiverr allowing s***e routinely. There is too much at stake that makes having communications in writing so important. In some categories it may be more appropriate than others.

It’s not really about winning, though. The conversation’s all about the implications of what introducing a s***e-like service to Fiverr would mean for users. You were the one who started with the negative/positive stuff. Anyway…

Other sites that have tried video chat have quickly abandoned it when it was found that it became a mode of pornographic transmissions, whether mutually agreed upon or not.

Sellers might see more than they wanted to see.

You look so different on video, Miss Crystal. Is this you casting a spell? Or were you just feeling a bit giggly.

Also, not to be rude, but now I’ve seen you in person could you please promise not to ever ever attempt to contact me in any way.

Thanks 😉

It won´t necessarily be s***e though.

from that January Twitter session:

What can @Fiverr improve on or create in 2017 to help you do?

@michakaufman @fiverr a platform for real time conversation like s***e / voice , many clients want to talk about there projects

@nomansalehzada @fiverr we are aware of this need and plan to introduce something for real time chatting soon

I agree, they’ll do something, s***e or otherwise. Perhaps an in-house platform that they can monitor, I don’t know. I wouldn’t want to be required to use voice or video chat. Some people would be unable to use them due to equipment, disabilities or language problems. I also wouldn’t want to be forced to use any real-time text chat because that could kill hours very easily.

Just because I don’t want to be forced doesn’t mean I’m against those things being available. I have no issue with Fiverr offering solutions for real time conversations as long as they keep it optional. I do think they’ll have to lighten up to do it, I’m getting flagged in my inbox for just using the word “contact” nowadays.
