  1. I've just "applied" for the video consultation option. Have you had the notification about it? I'm assuming it will be something that can be activated on gigs rather than a new gig that needs creating.
  2. I got through my first five years here on 'ja'. I'd just vary the tone a bit, sometimes pop a chuckle in. Now I can even use Genitiv and that's basically transcending reality. 🙂
  3. And now the British and American people who work the bars in Berlin roll their eyes when they have to speak German.
  4. True, I know some of you and you're alright. My German pals were pleasantly surprised that I didn't beat someone up every time a football match happened somewhere and that I have good teeth. 🙂
  5. I'm gonna stick to the BBC for a while. There's only one story dominating those pages at the moment. I'll have a few sleeps without nightmares.
  6. 'Der Klügere gibt nach' as they say in DE.
  7. Kaaay.... When I think nuclear war, I definitely think limited. Man, man, man.

    RIP

A cultural icon. That strange feeling of mourning the passing of someone personally unknown and living in wildly different circumstances. But a constant my entire life. On TV, money, stamps, at Christmas. I don't feel the same affection for any of the other family members or the royals as an institution, but she was something else. RIP Liz.
  9. It isn't just down to private reviews or the algorithm in every case. Summer, particularly August, is known to be quiet because of the summer holiday. There's also a war, recession and the soaring cost of living in everyone's face every day, unless you go on a very beneficial news diet. People are likely tightening their belts a bit. It usually passes as people do have to get back to business and life has a tendency to go on. The best thing to do in a time like this is to see if there are any improvements to be made on your existing gigs and offers and evaluate yourself service up to now. No point in worrying too much or trying to figure out what's going on. An SM could possibly give you more specifics.
  10. I procrastinate a lot. It's fear based. I've realised that accepting fear and procrastination as my regular companions tends to soften them a bit. They're not going away. Humour helps too, not taking everything too seriously, trusting that things always work out well.
  11. Everyone has their own take on this. It's absolutely right that you don't want to work for free. I often get requests for free VO demos before they decide to buy, but I've become quite adept at sniffing out scammers. I check out a buyers profile and reviews and if they're a regular then I'll do it if they have a budget worth the time. If they come across well in their messages but haven't ordered on Fiverr before, I'll offer 2-3 lines of their script ( if it's interesting and well paid) and I'll add an audible watermark in there. It has landed me plenty of work. If they want the whole script recording then I won't do it. And I always refuse the cheeky requests to revise a demo. I mean... honestly.
  12. I just headed in there to see if anything has changed as the drought of rational clients continues. Nothing's changed. 🙂
  13. Dear God... how is it that you could create this grand and exquisite mystery containing all that ever was, is and will be, yet you don't seem to be able to take a joke?
  14. None. I don't use Facebook anymore and the platform I do use is private and for friends and creative contacts only. They already know I do VO so if they wanted it they could come to me directly. I've seen ads promoting Fiverr pop up on social media and the comments are never favourable. Unfortunately, It appears to still have somewhat of a reputation for being a cheapo site that destroys real industry, another reason I allow the buyers to come to me instead of plugging on social media.
  15. I wasn't aware that Fiverr accepted crypto. I'm not how how that would work considering how volatile it is from one moment to the next. I'm really sorry that you're going through this.
  16. I got my first brief yesterday for a service I don't even offer. Probably the furthest away from my Fiverr skill set as you could get.
  17. Hilarious! It's so true. They're genuinely entitled and unprofessional.
  18. I can live with the 20% taken from my tips. What I do think is a bit of a cheek is charging the buyer yet another service fee for leaving a tip.
  19. @enunciator has already mentioned the many grammatical errors. This will not inspire confidence in potential buyers.
  20. OK, I wonder why this option isn't there for everyone. It's definitely a hit exchanging from dollars. I try not to think about it too much.
  21. Or at least direct to bank account payments like other platforms have. In my experience, that results in better exchange rates and cutting out fees for Paypal and Payoneer.
  22. I probably can't make the live stream because I'm rammed this week, but it's a great idea. Plenty of people here could use it 🙂 And congrats on your new upcoming gigs!
  23. Just put yourself in the position of a buyer looking for your service. The simplest, most obvious tags relating to your service.
  24. I personally can't wait for the communication to end. It means a job well done. Or done at least 🙂
