  1. There are other platforms that you bid on. I left those platforms because it's not a game I'm willing to play, and I would be very disappointed if Fiverr went the same way.

    Help

I get it through the briefs a lot now. That and an awful lot of requests for disgusting material. Plenty of people/bots posing as buyers too and sending messages to follow links, etc.
  3. Stoned AI doesn't sound so ominous. That would slow things down.
  4. Oh, I'm sure it will all be fine. *shudder*
  5. Hello! It only took me a couple of months to be approved for Pro, I also had support from a manager as part of Seller Plus, which has also been worth the investment. It's absolutely worth going for and, as far as I can tell, the decision is based on skills, time keeping and client satisfaction and customer service. So a good all-rounder has a better chance than someone who is very skilled but not so great with their customers. I was told that there are some clients who only filter out the Pro verified sellers. That's not to say that there aren't fantastic freelancers outside of the pro category, but it is that extra seal of approval that can get decent clients in.
  6. Clients who expect work for peanuts and only offer peanuts can tend to be some of the most difficult and unreasonable people to work with.
  7. Yep. I've added a note about not consenting to this in my gig requirements as I don't have any more available FAQs space to add. Gotta keep on truckin' but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about the implications of AI, and not just in the world of the freelancer. My partner is a uni lecturer and AI is a new problem for the education system too. How to make sure students write their own papers...
  8. Here's something I read today about a voice-artist discovering her voice was being used without her consent. https://www.voquent.com/blog/whose-voice-is-it-anyway/
  9. This is a very good idea, Mike, and if you don't mind I'll add something similar to my own gigs. Have you also set up the paid consultations feature? I haven't as yet because I'm not very comfortable with a giving a third party access to my calendar and personal information.
  10. I'm happy to see that paid consultations are finally here. I'm not so happy about this: "By connecting your calendar, you acknowledge and agree to Fiverr accessing and collecting data in your calendar and sharing it with Nylas. See our Privacy Policy for more information about how Fiverr processes personal data." Thoughts?
  11. I like this analogy. That could also speak to the new sellers who create the maximum number of gigs regardless (I'm not painting every new seller with the same brush). I never buy food from "restaurants" that serve pizza, pasta, Chinese AND traditional German food from the same kitchen. I'm betting whatever I order will result in me being disappointed at best, or sat on the bog for two days worst case. Jack of all trades, master of none.
  12. I've experienced inappropriate messaging and behaviour many times, but not for a while on Fiverr. I get some harsh messages about my pricing, but that's just cheapskates trying to batter me into a $5 submission. Some NSFW requests are getting through on buyer briefs. I wouldn't touch those with a barge pole. These situations can crop up anywhere, and the experiences range from someone having a crush but respecting your boundaries to outright abusive behaviour and tantrums. In all cases, I nip it in the bud immediately, and I couldn't care less if I bruise someone's ego in the process.
  13. Payment is made when they order from your directly or accept a custom offer from you. You can create custom offers in the message thread with a client. There are no payment requests.
  14. Once should be the limit. Especially to avoid excuses for drawn out review periods like 'My boss is trekking through a jungle for a month', 'My colleague is off sick and I'm not sure when he's going to be back', 'My dog ate your file'. OK, I am being slightly facetious, but I think allowing the possibility for endless extensions is going to cause problems.
  15. I've found it beneficial. I'm not sure how many orders it brings in as I don't think every buyer decides immediately on the first click, but I got two big orders last week through the promoted gig ad.
  16. I'm not confident this feature won't get abused by some buyers. At least if a client requests a revision without any notes attached, we have a right to send the work again after a certain amount of time. I give my clients 48 hours to provide me with revision notes before I send the original file again, and I communicate this to them. I will give it an extra day if we've hit the weekend, but it's my choice. If they can endlessly extend their review time, what can a seller do about it? I'm fortunate to have good clients who rarely take the p**s, and I don't see it being a big problem for me unless there are constant delays with payment. But you don't need to scroll through the forum for long before you find sellers who have been taken advantage of and treated unfairly by dodgy, unscrupulous buyers. Completed orders getting cancelled and refunded is one example. Buyers could leave orders open for review for weeks and then decide they don't want the work and get a refund. If this feature is going to be a thing from now on, it should come with limitations. OK, that's all from Negative Nelly today. 🙂
  17. No one here will be able to tell, especially as there's no profile too look at and feedback on. You can ask customer service.
  18. I don't think Fiverr has any rules against offering demos. It's really up to you. I would avoid offering it as part of your service because if a free demo comes as part of the package, then most people will take advantage of it. Leave it for them to ask. You can deal with it client by client. I provide voice-over, and I have plenty of demos available on my gigs, but if a potential client still requests a sample demo of their script, I will provide 3-4 lines with an audible watermark if it's a job that I'd be happy to secure. Should a potential client ask me to record their entire script, they have to pay for it. I do refuse anyone who has a bad attitude and a bad budget. It is okay to say no if your A-Hole radar starts going off. Providing a demo doesn't guarantee you'll get the job, but I've secured plenty of business by offering that extra. As an afterthought - never start working on a job without confirming the order.
  19. The briefs I'm getting have really improved over the past couple of weeks. It seems to have ironed itself out. I always made sure to report spam and people using the briefs to ask for work, and to be very specific about why a brief wasn't a match in the 'other' section of 'not interested'. I'm not Spanish or a man, for example.
  20. The briefs I'm receiving now are much more relevant. It did take a while. I much prefer this to the absurd buyer requests. But I will miss the laughs.
  21. I travelled to Warsaw this summer by train and ate pierogi in the dining carriage, they were delicious. As was the beer that I washed them down with.
  22. Ramen is my four seasons comfort food. As we move into Autumn/Fall/Herbst, I start to crave German Klöße, potato dumplings. half a day on the sofa is required after eating in order to aid digestion.
