  1. Have they given some reason why they don't want to have the interview via the messaging system?
  2. That's a very good one, if a tad old. Glanced at your profile and gigs. (I like all the images but the glass cup.) A lot of art gigs in general are having trouble due to the recent advancements in AI. So, a lot of Sellers are in the same situation. The general advice that's being tossed around right now is "be better than the AI, and convince people it's worth it" which is good, but basic. At this time, though, that's all I can really offer.
  3. Welcome to the forums. I would suggest starting here: https://community.fiverr.com/forum_rules/ https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/278683-new-to-the-forum-welcome-here-are-5-tips-for-efficient-forum-use-–-how-to-make-the-forum-work-better-for-yourself-and-for-everyone/ https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/282146-how-to-be-successful-on-fiverr-common-questions-answered-and-a-collection-of-great-posts-that-helped-me-achieve-trs/
  4. May I ask which forum posts you went through? There's a lot of great advice that can be found on the forums, but also just as much bad advice.
  5. Two main reasons: Payment processing/security, and centralized location. Obviously, if you have your own website, you would direct marketing traffic there, but Fiverr does offer some protection when it comes to a structured order process.
  6. This might be why you are being blocked, if it's the Sellers and not the Fiverr system doing the blocking. A lot of Sellers see "promise of future work" as a big red flag, depending on other factors. If you are not ready to purchase, then be upfront about it, in your initial message. If you are copy/pasting the same message, that might also be the reason. Asking about a Sellers prices, if the Seller states their prices outright on their Gig, implies that you did not read the Gig, which is another red flag to Sellers. Edit: Okay, I just read your post in another thead, and wanted to add: yes, Sellers will sometimes block Buyers once they know the Buyer are not going to order from them. It's rude on their part, unless you are persistently messaging them. We all have only the same 24 hours in the day.
  7. Fiverr ToS: It would be a good idea to read the contract you've already agreed to. I will admit: one thing it doesn't mention but is a general good idea, is to redeliver the entirety of the revised order, including what you're already delivered.
  8. Fiverr URLs are always fiverr.com/username so you can finds the Seller profiles that the Buyer used with some copy/paste and URL editing, then looking for the Buyer's username on that Seller's profile page. (When I'm investigating a Buyer's reviews I usually use an incognito window.) If the Seller has a lot of reviews, it can be trickier, but if you sort the reviews by date rather than relevance they can be easier to find, as long as the review is not over a year old.

  10. You might want to look into adjusting your notification settings. https://community.fiverr.com/notifications/options/
  11. Do not go for anyone that promises a number. Do not go for anyone who only offers impressions or clicks. https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/73962-impressions-arent-all-that-important-heres-why/ https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/104901-getting-through-the-sales-slump-upyour/ https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/104668-marketing-yourself-just-do-it-heres-how-upyour/
  12. I apologize for the confusion, you basically asked me to summarize hours of college classes. Yes, USA labor law is stringent. There are laws regarding wages, workplace safety, labor hours, medical leave, nondiscrimination, etc. Most businesses don't need the type of labor, the type of services that can be found on Fiverr. Burgers can't be flipped remotely. Cashiers/stockers, mechanics, cooks, nurses, construction workers, cleaners, etc. all need to be bodies-in-the-building. No. Unless someone owns their house and property, that $600 (pre-tax) paycheck I mentioned usually doesn't cover their monthly house payment. As for the 'high' rate, yes and no. Yes, Americans get paid high wages in comparison to many places internationally. And many places in the States are quite affordable for cost-of-living, but there are many places that are very expensive to live. My apartment's rent is currently $600. Water, sewer, trash is about $100. There's also electricity. I'll admit, I do like having a phone, so that is an extraneous expense, but that alone is about $35 (and that's the minimum data-package plan). I also like having a car, but that needs insurance, gas, oil, registration (it's older and paid off, fortunately). And then there's food. I am a very frugal person compared to the average American, but that just means that the average household expenses are much higher than what I've mentioned above. There's one more aspect that's not been mentioned yet, though. Debt. Debt is actually a VERY big problem in the USA right now. There's a big lie, a trap, that many Americans have fallen into, and so their expenses are even higher because they have to pay back what they borrowed. That is why most Americans work for others, be it a small company or a corporation. Most Americans can't afford to not work. --- I'm pretty sure I've not fully answered your question, but I have work tomorrow, so I'll have to check back later.
  13. Because of this: The terminology that's missing is "opportunity cost" and "minimum wage" and "unemployment" and "inflation". Disclaimer 1: US wage and labor law is complicated, so this is an oversimplification... Disclaimer 2: I agree with the perspective in the videos, so I'm admittedly a bit bias. Back to your question: As a producer of goods and/or services, or as a consumer of goods and/or services? (Seller or Buyer?) I suppose a quick 'Introduction to Business 101' might help. Accounting 201: sales minus expenses equals profit. Accounting 201: The goal of a business is to make money for the owner(s). (This is as true for sole-proprietors as it is for corporations with shareholder owners.) Management 201: Labor is almost always the biggest single expense of a business. Economics 201: Supply and Demand equilibrium. I also think there's laws about a minimum work shift, and I know there's laws about work breaks. Current US law is $7.25/hr minimum wage. Most places right now hire at $9-$10 starting, and easily $15-$20 if experienced. This means for Fiverr to attract US Sellers, the $5 minimum Gig price usually equates about a half-hour of work. (Again, oversimplification.) Opportunity cost. A person could work a steady (if tedious) minimum wage job for eight hours a day, for five days a week, and every two weeks get compensation for his/her labor with a paycheck for $600 (pre-tax). Freelancing (not just on Fiverr) is inconsistent work, and competition means bidding low enough to get the job while still making a profit. As much as Americans love the idea of being their own boss, many are disillusioned very quickly when the lights or water are being shut off. I respect entrepreneurs. I don't respect people who don't think and plan for the future (especially the ones who have dependents who rely on them for the basic necessity of food). Life 101: Just because you put a price tag on something doesn't mean people will buy it.
  14. That's a good starting point, I think. You can always adjust it later, if you find it's not working out the way you thought. Also, for general Fiverr advice, I would recommend reading this (except the 'Buyer Request' section, that's out of date): https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/282146-how-to-be-successful-on-fiverr-common-questions-answered-and-a-collection-of-great-posts-that-helped-me-achieve-trs/
  15. Welcome to the Fiverr forums. Have you looked into gigs that already exist, to see how they bundle? Personally, I use 'sketch', 'line art', and 'color', but my medium is colored pencils, so if a Buyer want's digital color, I craft them a custom order via the messaging system.
  16. Welcome to the Fiverr forums. In short, there are basically two main ways to find a service: the search function and the matching system (We Sellers call it 'briefs' from our end.) I'm not sure about editing, but I think this is the correct Help Center page for the matching system: https://business.fiverr.com/support/articles/4415608857745?segment=buyer There's a button at the bottom if you would like to contact Fiverr Customer Support. Specifically on the matter of internet resources talking about 'requests', if the source is older than last November (2022), then it is outdated information. As for 'Orders', that page only generates once you've paid for a service. It's a separate conversation page from the main messages.
  17. Just watched Super Mario Brothers The Movie. ALL THE REFERENCES! As a Mario-games fan, it was GREAT! (If you're not fan, then probably not the movie for you. Rotten Tomatoes didn't rank it well.)
  18. Actually, you did. There was a little box you ticked that stated something along the lines of "I have read and agree with the Terms of Service" which state: The part about the 20% is in that "Payment Terms" section. So, yes, you did agree to it.
  19. Fiverr keeps it's algorithm a secret. That said, Fiverr does offer this much: https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360011028318-Managing-your-Gigs
  20. Photo restoration isn't graphic design. Neither is retouching. I will agree that graphic design skills can help with those, and that they both utilize skills from both graphics and design (which, by the way, is the name of the Fiverr category; "Graphics & Design"). Scenic and landscape creation is design, yes, which can use graphics, yes, but can also be done in any media, not just digital photo manipulation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_design https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_designer
  21. Welcome to the Fiverr forums.
  22. Oh, for goodness sake and the love of capybara. I'm going to be blunt: Put on some clothes. If you want to be a fashion model, then model fashion, not pose-in-my-underwear.
  23. You have a contract. After the order is placed, it shouldn't be negotiated. That's what is known as a "change order". If the Buyer wants changes to what was already agreed on, you should be ready to notify them on the cost of the change, so that they can make an informed decision on if they really need the change and if so to be ready to pay for it. I agree with @newsmike, you are being taken advantage of. Unfortunately you've already compromised your contract, as you've already agreed to work outside the scope. You must set your own boundaries. It's up to you if you want to fight, but you should probably brace yourself to this resolving in a expensive lesson in management and customer service.
  24. I have two for my Beta gig. A mandatory-document-file upload and an option text field that's more of a prompt: "(Optional) Anything you specifically want me to look for, such as Out Of Character moments, moments of excessive time dilation, or cliché tropes." (My 'art' gigs all severely need updating, thanks for the reminder.) Now I'm curious: If I craft a custom order and select 'skip requirements', does it still prompt for the Fiverr ones? Do gigs that have no requirements have the Fiverr ones?
