  1. Remember that this is a community and we are all working in isolation, both due to the nature of freelancing and due to the pandemic. So in my opinion in-person meetups whether through clubs or otherwise, will help people connect and feel like a part of something. I speak with fellow forum members in private quite a bit and developing relationships is part of the human nature, not to mention what it does in terms of growth.
  2. Before Covid-19 Fiverr had a lot of in-person events across the globe. Remember all the webinars I did? Before Covid, most of them were actual in-person events. I am not saying that all webinars will stop and now everything will be in-person. But for example: I am trying for a couple of months now to organize an online workshop. The tools that Fiverr allows me to use, are not cutting it. If I were to fly out to let's say London and do the workshop in person, it would be much easier, as I need to interact with participants a lot. Just like you don't like social interactions, other people prefer in-person meetups, vs staring at a screen. I for one miss travelling, networking and seeing people in-person, forming connections and relationships.
  3. We had in-person meetups prior to Covid. So nothing has changed on that front.
  4. I don't think this poll will yield any objective results. First of all, you haven't seen what Fiverr has planned and how it will be implemented. Secondly, the third question is kind of making a statement. But sure, let's see how people vote, that will be interesting to see.
  5. The clubs are created with the sole purpose of finally being able to organize local in-person meetings and events. So yes, when seen in the forum context, it sounds inclusive, but their core function is to be able to quickly organize and meet in-person. So even if you would be able to join the NYC club, it wouldn't benefit you since you are not able to join their events.
  6. It is my understanding that the people in charge of the community don't want to create such inclusive experiences. It's been a couple of weeks since I talked to the team leader, so let me see if I can learn any new developments.
  7. I think I’m spending waaaay too much time on the forum.
  8. No you can’t. Fiverr will almost immediately suspend you. Public Reviews don’t matter as much anymore, work on offering the best possible level if service instead.
  9. As far as I know it’s strictly local. So you can only join your region’s club for sure. Not 100% sure if it’s a technical restriction and how it will be implemented. I can check. Yes there are multiple US clubs actually. I saw at least 8–10 states listed for sure.
  10. I understand it’s a matter of principle, however, their legal department cleared this obviously. Voicing your concern/opinion is just about the only thing you can do about it. Since this is a complicated product, I assume that the CS agent forwarded this to the team running this feature and they in turn had to contact legal. So this will be a while, for sure.
  11. Please reach out to Fiverr if you want to voice your concerns.
  12. Yes that's true. But we always had access to that data, via the past orders button. Now it's available at a glance. 🙂
  13. Fiverr usually rolls out a feature and then there's a small announcement made on either the blog, the forum or a new section on the seller helpdesk. When this new set of features starts rolling out, you will definitely hear about it here, as I will be able to talk to people about it and explain how it works.
  14. I don’t think I will use that subscription to be honest, but seems like it would be a good opportunity for anyone looking to start a creative hobby and learn a craft. However, there’s an instructor there that EVERYONE must check out: https://www.creativelive.com/instructor/tim-ferriss I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for his books. This guy is the guru of discovering success traits and creating frameworks. He is also a master interviewer. Lots of pure gold in any piece of content he publishes.
  15. @animie_video There are at least 8 more big updates coming in the next quarter alone. @catwriter nope! @donnovan86 that’s not it either!
  16. Update: I found where buyers have to go to opt out: Click on your profile photo on the top right of your dashboard, then click on “view profile” and scroll all the way to the bottom.
  17. I wish I could say more, but I can’t do that just yet. What I can say is that this new thing will NOT affect legitimate and honest sellers. 🙂
  18. No the next phase has nothing to do with location. It’s something bigger.
  19. It’s phase one of the solution to a wider problem on Fiverr. The next phase will definitely shake things up a bit. 😉
  20. Reminds me of one of my favorite scenes from MF. 🙂
  21. This is a great one-stop post for all levels of Fiverr sellers. Great job @williambryan392 Re: editing gigs While they did say that editing gigs and OOO won’t affect ranking, there was an asterisk about the whole “within reason” thing. So editing your gig most definitely takes it “offline” momentarily. So doing it back to back will affect your ranking. Also, what they didn’t mention at all was that you could very well screw yourself out of your current position if your edits are bad. I can take my 30k impressions gig right now and make all sorts of edits on it, but if my editing is nonsense then my position will deteriorate.
  22. I never argued the point, I just focused on your demeanor. If you think that’s me disagreeing with you, then I can only attribute this to a language barrier. Funny how when someone else suggested you could handle this better you agreed and thanked them. Maybe you are biased against me, which is fine.
  23. I strongly disagree. As I said earlier, if you waste time on someone messaging back and forth without at least an indication of where both sides stand in terms of money, then that’s not really the prospect’s problem. Mention money early. That’s your responsibility, you are the seller. Even if you see that the prospect is messaging you via your $1,000 gig, never assume they have that much to spend. Unfortunately, people tend to ignore price tags and are almost always hoping they can get a premium service at a bargain. I agree, however, that there will always be people who ask for ridiculous things. They are not attacking you by asking for a $50 deal or a 90% discount. They don’t know how much something is worth. They don’t always have a budget when launching their business. If they aren’t a good fit for you, just tell them and wish them well. What I do when someone tells me they want an animated video done for $50, I don’t have to be rude to them. I explain why it’s not possible, and I refer them to one of the hundreds of sellers who would throw a party if they booked a $50 gig. But before I bid them farewell, I also warn them about unrealistic expectations and what they should be wary of when selecting a seller that only charges $50.
