Block User from Placing Orders

Recommended Posts

You can currently block users entirely.

However, you can’t block specific users from placing orders.

I have had some HORROR clients, that I would like to prevent from ordering with me ever again. However, I wouldn’t want to block them entirely as I don’t want to cut off their communication to me.

Therefore, I suggest that you have an option to prevent a user from ordering with you again, without fully blocking them.

Why? Why on earth would you still want to talk to these people?

Fiverr is an online marketplace for freelance services, not a chit-chat hub like Omegle. If you don't want to sell your services to a client, what kind of interaction do you want to have with them?.... just curious to know!

Other people try to run away from clients who are annoying but for the first time I am seeing someone who wants to bump his head into those scary clients.

Haha - great points.

I think my purpose was that if the client had any issues with the order, it might look like I've just been trying to avoid them!

But you are trying to avoid them, and for good reason it seems. That's the whole point of blocking someone.

Yeah, I don't mess around, I just block and move on. Life is too short to deal with constant pressure and bad people. Just move on. Then again, maybe that's just me. But it worked well an honestly, it doesn't waste any person's time either, the buyer can easily find someone else.

I think it’s great how considerate you are being of your clients’ needs.

Personally, I’d just block them once the order is complete. That way, they’ve had ample chance to raise any issues. If they discover any real problems beyond that, they could always contact support.

It’s always nice to have more features and options at one’s disposal but I don’t think I’d ever use this myself.

That's fair - I guess it's just scary when customer support contact me! I worry about getting warnings etc., when actually I'm not in the wrong!

You're right though - probably not a necessary feature.

I'm still trying to figure out how to block a user that has backed out of an offer and just plain rude and belittling.

It's ridiculous that I cannot block a user without completing an order.  I have no interest in further communicating with this "buyer" but cannot block him from sending inappropriate messages.

There are "3 dots" on the right top corner of other person's text. You can click on it and press report - last window also provides the option to block the individual.

@sreach73 I can confirm that the method mentioned by @priyank_mod works.
Last week I blocked a rude buyer this way.
He was angry because I had 30 orders in my schedule and I could only start for him at the end of September.
All he did was brag about his business and insulting me. When he started saying he was going to report me to Fiverr I blocked him. He will now not find anyone on Fiverr who can offer the service he wanted (I am the only one). He can no longer reach me and will have to find help outside of Fiverr.

But how to block if there was no previous chat conversation?
Previously, there used to be a corresponding button on each user's profile page, but now it's gone.
If a person placed an order without sending a private message, is it possible to block them from the order page itself?

The Request to Order should be a free 'feature' anyway. The fact these thieves charge so you, in their own words, 'your own boss', can run your business basics, shows how little they care for you as a seller. All they see is new users $$$$$$. They get enough from their commission %.

The challenge with preventing them from ordering but they are not blocked all the way, is that you still are responsible for communicating with them. If they become unacceptable, then I agree you should report them.  I think support can block them too but it’s best to take charge. Do not let anyone belittle or remotely control you with intimidation. Do what you need to do.

There are some people or bots or whatever, who think they can use Fiverr for malicious activities, finding a date, squeezing money from you or using fear tactics to control the order.

Recently, I had an inquiry, “hello” “I want to make money” “I don’t have a project” “I want to meet people”  “are you single?”

BLOCK!!!  I have tolerance and treat everyone with respect, but I have only so much patience with people who monopolize my time.
