Fiverr Cancelled My Completed Order After 4 Weeks

This is unbelieveable! Fiverr just withdraw $300 from my available funds and gave back to buyer for completed work! The buyer was requested an ansys analysis and a report. These are perfectly done and delivered. Buyer accepted the delivery, marked as completed and reviewed me! Gave me 5 stars! But 4 weeks later fiverr just cancelled the order and stole my $300. I wrote to customer support and they says: 

“ I checked on this order for you and noticed it was canceled because the buyer Khalidelmi2000 opened a chargeback on the order with their payment provider.

Fiverr cannot prevent this action and we did not cancel the order from our side.

 

Fiverr reviews cases of payment provider chargebacks and disputes on behalf of Sellers. Although results vary per case due to each chargeback reason, we work hard on resolving disputes in the Seller’s favor.

 

We were reviewing the chargeback and the order with our relevant team and unfortunately, this order is not eligible for compensation.

What is that? Is that a joke??


This is just scam! A fradulent chargeback and Fiverr does not protects me! Why should any seller trust or continue to work with Fiverr if they are not protects us? This is unbelieveable! My whole work gone for free!

Hey michaelhydehill, being a freelancer I can understand your pain. However, Fiverr is right and they don't have control on it. Funds were deducted from your account by third party payment methods provider. 

I personally wish there should be a way in which this should not happen. Happy Freelancing!

How Fiverr is right? There are two reasons of working on fiverr for freelancers.

-Promoting their work

-Making sure they will get paid after delivery.

 

Fiverr just stole my money from my account. What would happen if i dont trust fiverr, stop working and withdraw all my funds?? I’m tired that they always take buyers side! This is $300! Days of work! This is a fradulent action and they helped them! I want my money! This is same as someone steals $300 from my bank account or my pocket.

No. Not any protections for the sellers on this platform. I’m talking with customer service right now and they have asked for the proof of the work. It’s so funny because that means they did not even checked the delivery i made and conversations between me and buyer before taking my money.

Service
The cardholder (the buyer) either did not receive the service, or the service they received was not as described.

 

Fraud made by buyer and my service was perfectly satisfied him and it was as described. But they did not even checked it.

I’m pretty sure that, this thing have happened like that:

Buyer to his bank: I want my money back from this seller on fiverr!!

Bank: Okay.

Bank to Fiverr: My customer thinks your seller is scammer and wants his money back.

Fiverr: Oh okay sure here it is! (Takes $300 from my account by no right and gives to buyer’s bank)

Hi, I have been in your situation like this around 3-4 years back when 3,4 buyers disputed the payment through Payment source rather than through fiverr. We cannot definitely complaint fiverr for that. Because Customer can make a dispute through PayPal and can still return the funds to them even without any control of fiverr. So It was an unfortunate experience for me..

After all these Biggest positive which I received is Fiverr understood that I delivered the work perfectly and after a thorough investigation and after understanding that its buyer that is problematic They gave me refund from their pockets itself or through some means.. It was appeared in fiverr balance and custom executive contacted me and said it was for the hard work which you done for that order. So You may get it in future if you continue to raise the issue in Fiverr customer support.. Never blame the fiverr as these things can happen in a marketplace.

They did. Can you ever imagine buying something from Amazon with your paypal balance and then requesting a chargeback on paypal? Can you have an iphone for free? Fiverr have right to say “no” to them. 

Can you please tell me what would happen if i have no available or uncleared funds on fiverr?? Also i already withdraw that money of that order. So they stole my money from my other orders. Do not defend me fiverr.

So let’s order from everyone on fiverr then request a chargeback ha? How is that? Free slaves. Beautiful world.

Fiverr has two main duties.

- Providing chance to promote your work.
- Giving trust to both sellers and buyers that everyone gets what they wants.

If buyer would request to cancel the order before completion and fiverr would cancel it after reviewing, i would understand that. If buyer cant get what he wants, then he can refunded.

But he accepted delivery, he said he loved it! He rated me with 5 stars. It has been 4 weeks after delivery! I withdraw my money from that order. And now they steal my money from other completed works to give buyer. Imagine you are buying an iphone from amazon through paypal and then requesting chargeback without giving it back. Or buying a movie?

And fiverr gets %20 from my earnings to not to protect me and not to give trust? Am i a slave? Are you? Are sellers just free slaves on this platform? Because it seems every buyer can chargeback easily months after getting delivery.

Your frustration is understandable, but Fiverr too is a victim here. Because a) Fiverr too isn't getting paid b) chargeback is expensive to deal with and has probably costed Fiverr a lot of money already. The cost of investigating a dispute is mostly borne by the merchants, not the banks. In fact, even when a merchant wins a dispute, they are still at loss because of the chargeback costs. I've come across several posts here on the forum where sellers shared their experience of how Fiverr compensated them on orders that had chargebacks on them. And I did admire that about Fiverr, which is why I too am surprised after reading your experience, but then again, the rationale part of me understands Fiverr's stance for the aforementioned reasons. Truth be told, any merchant would rather choose a refund over a chargeback, again because of the costs involved.

On the same ticket/support conversation thread, try asking for a supervisor and explain to them that you did all that was asked of you and that the buyer too seems to be happy with the delivered output and request them to compensate for the time you put in. Share supporting screenshots and other details that might help your case. A long shot but worth a try, but I would urge you to think from Fiverr's point of view as well and be empathetic when you make that request. $300 isn't a small amount and I realize that it hurts where it hurts the most, but Fiverr may have lost a lot more money covering the dispute handling costs. At the end of it, in most cases, the dispute might still be resolved in buyer's favor despite merchant's best efforts. And that's just how the nature of things are, the system by design is buyer oriented (the logic being that people should feel safe when ordering online, hence the dispute process was created which sadly your buyer seems to have taken advantage of, you AND Fiverr were just unlucky to have come across this buyer, if anyone's to blame, it's them, for exploiting the process created to protect them)

If the chargeback case allows, Fiverr (or one of Fiverr’s Payment Services Providers) will return parts or full revenue back to Sellers, otherwise the chargeback amount will be borne by the Seller.

Even though I understand your pain (I'm a freelancer as well, and this would annoy me too!) there's nothing Fiverr can do about it. The problem is with the payment providers. Chargebacks as a service is the problem here. Payment providers offer this to their clients, and it's causing a lot of problems for a lot of businesses out there. 

What I would do in such a case (after cursing a few times, taking a walk to calm down and think logically about this) is to start figuring out if the buyer is still using your delivery. If so, that's a violation of copyright law in most cases, as the transfer of rights is subject to payment for the delivery in full. If they're still using my delivery, I'd hire a lawyer and take them to court if I had to.

Amazon doesn't support PayPal. They have their own payment system and they avoid Paypal because of the chargebacks and any other possible issues.

I worked on Fiverr since early 2014 and I encountered my fair share of chargebacks. Sometimes Fiverr game me the money back, other times they didn't. As everyone else said, there's not a whole lot Fiverr can do. The payment providers offer chargebacks and Fiverr can't argue, they can't also force someone to like your work. So they will refund someone that asks for a refund even if it takes a while. A few months ago I had a person refund a $15 order placed and finished 6 MONTHS beforehand. And Fiverr canceled the order because there was nothing they could do, you can't force someone to like the order, so that's the policy that we accepted when we joined the site. Granted, I was given the $15 back, but again, your issue is a bit more complicated due to the higher cost. Still, try and see if they refund you. If not, then that means the buyer didn't like this and that's nothing you can do.

And now they have deleted my gig and ended my business. What a scammer and dictator company.. Stole my $240 and deleted my 50 times reviewed gig. My only income on life was that gig and now i dont know how to survive on my life.

The reason for removal is:  helping students on their academic work. 
 

I did not do that. I always refused student’s requests on this platform when i realized. But fiverr lied to not to pay back my money. Both thief and liars.

Hello again. There is an update about this. Fiverr won the dispute against my scammer buyer on my behalf and gave back my $240 (%20 was belong to fiverr) after i have provided evidences about i have delivered the order properly. I want to thank them for defending me against a scammer.
However, my business on fiverr still closed and they are not giving me permission to sell my services for nonsense. I hope they solve this issue too so i can continue to offer my services on fiverr again.

some months ago while i was going through fraudulent buy charge back after completing an order by herself and charge me back after 1month, i compalint to fiverr and they told me the reason they cancelled the order was that "you did not mention everything you delivered in the delivery message" while what i did not mention was what i did not put in the custom order. I have to accept my fate and move on because of the fear that fiverr might remove my gig.

Now my fear is justified when i was going through this trend. indeed as a seller sometimes you will have to accept some loss and move on most especially if when you trouble CS too much it can cost you your gig or account.

Its really shocking that my order was completed on 18th Nov with a 5star review from the buyer and 10 days after the order completion I receive a message that the order has been canceled and the buyer asked for a chargeback. Due to some confusion, my account got disabled for which fiverr asked me to wait for 90 days for their final decision and I can continue with my active orders but I cannot contact the buyer because I wasnt having any active order with him. No, notification about anything and fiverr deducted the amount from my balance. This is really sad because how can we as sellers on fiverr with 5star rating sustain if fiverr is not doing a proper investigation and supporting the buyers all the time. Im soo disappointed to see my money go right from my pocket without even knowing about it.

Actually Fiverr does investigate every cancellation. But if it's via a chargeback, they can't do anything because the bank forces them to send the money back. Fiverr just closes their account.
