How would you react on buyer asking for work sample?

Hi @muztre, Well, I think a buyer should be convinced enough to choose whether to work with me or not based on my portfolio, my reviews and my gig posting. With all these, a buyer can be pretty sure of the level of my professionalism.

Having seen all those, and a buyer further requests for a work sample, I would feel like the buyer has sent the same thing to a couple other sellers, thereby operating on a very low risk. At the end he chooses the best from all that agrees to provide , then pays only one. On the long run the seller is the worst hit.

However, it all depends on you. If you feel the work won’t cost you anything e.g time, and you’re sure of your expertise, you can choose to give in to the buyer’s request.

Cheers!

The buyer tends to be a scammer who preys on new freelancers.

Your gig has been doing quite wwell compared to mine! I am still having a zero work.

How long have you been here on Fiverr?

Anyway, I was very surprised at how my gig went, because there are LOTS of competitors when it comes to design, but fortunately I got my first order on my second day on Fiverr. I HAVE NO IDEA how that buyer found me, but I’m so thankful he did.

I have been on this site since two weeks ago. There are too many Excel specialist here. So, the competition is tough. Will try to come up with something different this weekend. I get a backup plan before unemployment hits us hard in the UK due to COVID. How’s Italy dealing with COVID?

That’s exactly the reason why I started to find ways to earn online - nowadays, nothing’s sure!

Here in Italy the number of new cases has been rising again since August, there are round 1K a day. But they are not planning any lockdown, it would cost us too much.

My area, London Borough of Havering is on the brink of another lock down as it has too many older people living in the area. Around 50% of the deaths caused by COVID in our area. The virus only kills the old and the vulnerable ones. Meanwhile the young people in our Borough have been selfish by congregating in pubs and local parks which have since caused another spike in the covid cases.

I also advertised my work on LinkedIn. Today, finally, one person had a look at it and ‘liked’ it.

It’s now confirmed that the scammers are trying to scam new freelancers. My case was I was asked to spy on his competitor. He said he would give me a follow up project but disappeared as soon as I challenged him to prove if his request was legit.

not all but many of the new buyers who first act smartly by sharing any project and later on asks for a detailed proposal from you.

best way to deal with them is to act smartly
