Hello,

A buyer left a negative review out of nowhere and does not an argument why. Is there any way in 2019 to request the review to be removed?

Thanks in advance for the help

Regards

Mathew

I’m afraid not. Reviews are usually removed only if they’re abusive or have been left with the intention of harming the seller.

“Leaving a Buyer’s feedback is a basic prerogative of a Buyer. Feedback reviews will not be removed unless there are clear violations of our Terms of Service.”

The above is from the updated Terms of Service at the bottom of the Fiverr main page.

In addition to what @ahmwritingco said, even if the review was left in error, it’s unlikely to be removed. And if you just mention the review to the buyer (including politely asking what you could’ve done better), you could get an account warning.

Yeah, that is a very odd policy, that even asking about what was lacking can bring trouble. Most, if not all “similar” companies encourage buyers to tell why the service was not to their liking, so the service can be improved. That is how to make more sales. Currently the optional hidden feedback (About what was not to liking) goes only to support, so the seller does not know what should be improved.

And if the point is to not make the buyer feel like they need to change their review after the seller shows good communication skills and interest in helping, it’s impossible to change a review, even if the buyer itself contacts support and asks.

Or perhaps it’s considered harassment, if seller contacts a buyer to ask what would have made the service better.

Basically, sellers are not allowed to make buyers feel bad about the reviews they’ve received.

I suppose that the rule is there because of the sellers who cry and beg the buyers to change review, and moan how their Fiverr business would be destroyed and they have 50 kids to feed and Fiverr is their only source of income… That sort of thing.
