  1. Hi Fiverr Community, I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out because I recently encountered an issue with my account that I could really use some help with. A few days ago, my account was flagged by the level system, and I'm quite puzzled as to why. Interestingly, this happened shortly after I submitted my EU tax information. I wasn't notified about the flagging; I only noticed a decline in impressions, which suggests that my services might not be visible to potential buyers. I have two main questions: 1. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation where their account was flagged after submitting tax information? 2. Why does this happen? I'm struggling to understand the reasons behind my account being flagged. When I reached out to Fiverr support, they mentioned "location inconsistencies" and the possibility of me using additional accounts, which is not the case. I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experiences or insights on this matter. Thank you for your time and assistance. Best regards, Robugc
  2. He lives in Spain, and I live in Greece. We are both in the EU, which means that we have to abide by EU VAT laws. I don't know what Spain's are like, but I can tell you that here in Greece, you invoice Fiverr, not your buyer, and because Fiverr is a third-party country, you send your invoice without VAT. You also have to make a note refering to the article and specific provision. I never freelanced when I was still in the UK so I have no idea what the regs are there, but I will tell you that if you need an invoice for tax reasons - which you do in GR - then you're not invoicing your buyers. You're invoicing Fiverr. And you're probably going to want an invoice that mentions that no VAT was paid due to whatever thingy of post-Brexit law says so just so the books look tidy. You've already found out that tax people enjoy messing around with people. Why encourage them? Smashradio is quite correct to say that you need(ed) to talk to an accountant. Again, I don't know what UK law requirs, but I do know that most accountants are clueless when it comes to online work. Don't even get me started on the NACE classifications and bewilderment of how exactly I make money online. It sounds to me like your accountant is the same as mine and needs careful explanation of things to help them to help you. I'll be over at Smashradio's house because his mummy might cook some good food. Hopefully not the rotten fish in a can thing that I can't remember how to spell. PS under 16s do pay tax in the UK after their personal allowance runs out. It's contract law you're thinking of, and that's U18. Same in the US.
  3. Which option is better for withdrawing funds from Fiverr in India: PayPal or Paynoor Bank Transfer?
  4. I think there could be multiple factors for anyone leaving fiverr at the moment (or indeed at any time). Making money elsewhere. AI has potentially hit revenue. Just got bored of it. Maybe got burned by the level system, and it doesn't look good for the personal brand to be a lower level. On a connected yet side note, I'm always curious about sellers who tout massive numbers but also have teams. I don't think they tell the whole story. I've been considering a lot how to scale, interviewing some people etc, but have been looking at the numbers to work out if it's worth it. So let's have a hypothetical if I were to make 350K in a year with a team doing the heavy lifting... Minus 20% fee = $70K Let's assume you pay 50% of the gig value to another freelancer as the fee (I think this is actually low but let's give the benefit of the doubt) = $175K You're a volume seller, so you need a VA (or 2), and a team manager. Let's say you hire cheap, @$10K per person per year = $30K (and you're not paying your manager a commission which most ask for). Let's ignore software costs to manage this team, bank/FX fees, increased accountancy costs and all the other little things that you end up paying for. We're also ignoring promoted gigs, and seller plus fee. We have $350K - $275K = $75K. That's before tax. Now I'm not knocking it, kudos, if you can build something great, who doesn't like $75K and if you aren't even touching the business due to the hires then that 75K pre tax for probably just doing a weekly or monthly check in with a team manager is pretty darn good. But anyway, I just want to make the point that a lot of the time people see these big numbers and don't see the costs that go alongside.
  5. You could check with CS and see what they say about it and maybe show them the help page. Since they say both these things (1 and 2) The [1] seems like it should show somewhere the average price paid for orders with you by that somewhere even if it (also) shows the average price paid by similar buyers with you. Maybe the bit in the help that says "Shows the average price paid, excluding tax and fees, for orders placed with you". is either outdated/incorrect or it might only show that average order price the buyer paid with you if there's enough orders he made with you for it to show it (eg. maybe there's a min of 2 orders they have to place with you before it shows it. But I'd check with CS. Or maybe the "for orders with you " is for all the similar buyers who ordered from you not just him, so it never displays the single buyer's average order price with you.
  6. Hey Fiverr fam! I'm pumped to announce that I've officially hit Level 1 Seller status! 🎉 This journey has been incredible, and I'm so thankful for the awesome opportunities and clients I've connected with. Now, let's talk about the not-so-fun stuff... As an Indian seller, I just did my third Fiverr withdrawal through Payoneer (our options are limited here). Let me break down what happened: The Good: Withdrawal itself was easy. Funds arrived quickly. The Bad: Surprise! Payoneer smacks you with a $30 USD annual fee, EVEN if you're a brand-new seller. The Ugly: On top of that, there's a $3 USD charge per withdrawal. Ouch! The WTF: Trying to find Payoneer customer support? It's like searching for a unicorn. My takeaway: PayPal, despite slightly lower conversion rates, might be the way to go for Indian sellers on Fiverr. I learned my lesson the hard way, hoping you don't have to. So, here's my question for fellow Indian sellers: Have you faced similar issues? What are your go-to withdrawal methods? Let's help each other navigate this! 🇮🇳 P.S. If you're looking for 3d product rendering animation feel free ro contact me 😄

  8. Unfortunately I'm Portuguese. It would be much better to live here by choice - foreigners are treated much better (tax-wise). Pretty great country to come and live in. Terrible country to be a native of.
  9. I had the situation clarified by an accountant. Whatever it is, and via whatever platform it is the same. If you are a bona-fide UK VAT registered business. On the invoice states: the buyer is in the UK, and I am the seller in the UK . VAT is due and a VAT invoice needs to be supplied VAT on the whole amount the buyer was invoiced. If on the invoice the buyer is outside the UK, and I am the seller. VAT is not due. So the moral of the story is don't register for VAT, and better off to go and live around Smashradio's house where he lives with his mummy, as the under 16's dont pay tax.
  10. Hi, This might interest people who are VAT registered in the UK, and provide Gigs to firms in the UK I used to do consultancy for a firm in Japan, I invoiced them without VAT as they are off-shore. When the VAT inspector came around he tried to get me to pay £5000 and a massive fine to cover the VAT I was "meant" to have charged them. They argued and argued until I got a very expensive TAX accountant involved and he said "because I was actually in Japan, delivering the work but raising invoices in the UK everything was OK and the VAT people backed off". That cost me £2000 to sort out. Now I am on Fiver I am selling to UK buyers, and working in the UK I would have a really big shlt-show to deal with including a £'000 fine which if I didn't pay I would have to move into a "His Majesties Hotel" for a year or so. Has anybody tested the "well I actually work for Fiverr, and they are in Israel line" with the VAT people and got things settled without any unpleasantness, or am I the only freelancer who works outside the IR35 for a living and has a VAT registered company to operate out of? Please share experiences, I just charge my clients VAT and offer a receipt at the moment so they can claim it back from VAT man. Regards Rich
  11. I know that this question has been asked many times. But I can’t help it. The responses are very confusing. And I’ve also heard that Payoneer recently changed their fees. As an Indian seller, which one do you think is better and why?
  12. When I started freelancing on Fiverr back in 2017, I decided to register it as a sole proprietorship type of company (I live in Poland by the way) so that I could pay taxes and social security on my income like people with 9 to 5 jobs and so that I wouldn’t get in trouble with tax people for running an unregistered business or something like that. That is also why I filled out the DAC7 form using the business variant. However, because of that I also recently read somewhere else that apparently everyone who runs a business in EU and sells products or services abroad (like you do on Fiverr) has to regularly send VAT EU documents just like regular VAT documents, even if they don’t pay any VAT. It never even occurred to me before that I would have to think about something like that since I’ve never been above the VAT threshold anyway, but now that I heard about it I’m scared that I might be in trouble for never sending such documents. Does anyone know if getting paid on Fiverr counts as something that needs to be regularly reported under VAT EU? Is there anyone from EU like me who also registered their Fiverr income as a business, and if yes, do you send those VAT documents?
  13. Not yet -- it's been only a month since I started advertising my gigs on FB and other online ad networks. I have gotten over 300 new affiliate registrations since January -- especially from the Middle East to the Indian subcontinent region. My first commission from an FTB was from Africa - Namibia in particular.
  14. Nah, they just disable your account if you are not in compliance with DAC7. Are you living in a different country to where your EU tax details are, or do you often use a VPN that shows you in another location when you use Fiverr? That's what location inconsistency boils down to. IRRC Fiverr also whacks people for "associations" with others who have broken the rule. I believe that's a vague way to get people for multiple accounts without saying so. Your only option is to contact CS and explain why you aren't location inconsistent.
  15. Reminds me that I made a topic that included the subject of pricing that wasn't approved earlier. Why not? It involves AI and Fiverr so I would have thought it would have been fine. It is relevant, because I will refer to it below. And, eventually, if someone sees fit to accept my writing - not AI, sadly - I can link the two up. This article forgot considering the tax man 🙂 It's also worth noting that a consumers generally don't enjoy paying "extra" for a service and that many sellers use package prices as a bait and switch pricing model, getting clicks with low prices then springing the "real price" later on. That's when they're not scrabbling to pull them away from the platform. Of course, gig extras were only introduced as a way to help sellers charge more than $5 in the first place because sellers were demanding it, what, 10 years ago? Make note of that. Gig extras were there to increase the value of $5 gigs. Wouldn't it make more sense - you'll need to refer to the topic I created that is languishing somewhere among the Thai love spell spams and other assorted rubbish - to just eliminate gig extras altogether? Since realistically, they've moved from "helping sellers to charge more" to "locking essentials behind a hidden price wall". You know that I am correct on this because Fiverr has had to enforce certain gig extras as mandatory as well as category pricing minimums. You also know that complaints about this are not uncommon. So why not shake it up? Why not use AI to "price competitively"? Remember the little extra tip in that topic I posted on top of GPT's suggestion? That's right, Fiverr has control of the algo and can give things a nice bulky weight at the higher end. It's basically the same as the "must charge $80 for websites" policy, but more subtle and gradually pulling the marketplace up. Like your Investors Reports tell people, Fiverr is aiming upmarket and AI is its big love. Was that idea so terrible that my post could not be published and discussed with the community? I'll ignore that the conclusion reads more like an introduction and also basically tells sellers that bait and switch is kinda OK because it's "attractive" to price your gigs low and hide the good stuff behind gig extras. You don't need me to tell you how many sellers will read this and come to the wrong conclusion. Don't worry, I don't expect anyone to read this. It's intelligent and insightful - if somewhat critical - commentary that points out the flaws in Fiverr's content marketing strategy on a necropost - not exactly the raison d'être for this forum or indeed any of Fiverr's recent moves. One final point: this article was written just over a year ago. Since then, 200,000 buyers have left. Has Fiverr not considered that as AI improves and becomes even more user friendly, this trend will only worsen? Repeat after me: complex AI services can easily be performed by a GPT agent in the near future. Without the wait - and at a cost that probably equals 1 gig for 1 small thing each month. During the industrial revolution, small businesses all got swallowed up by factories. Eventually, what happened was that capitalism found that these "old fashioned" products that were "hand made" could be charged at a premium because they were "artisan" rather than factory made. History may not repeat, but it often rhymes. Another little industrial revolution era factoid for you: we only have the 5-day workweek because prior to that, factory owners were working people to the bone 7 days a week. As it turned out, this was bad for their mental and physical health. The weekend is a modern invention of capitalism. Workers in the Middle Ages had many more holidays than we do today. And what we're actually seeing with platforms like Fiverr is a neo-feudalism that also mixes in the worst bits of classical, industrial-era capitalism. All those rights won over the course of the 19th and 20th centuries are slowly being eroded. Again, Fiverr does note that a unionization of freelancers would threaten its business model. It's in the investor docs. If nobody at Fiverr can see the toweringly huge elephants lumbering in the room around it, then this company is doomed.

  17. In addition to my existing gigs, I also do affiliate marketing for Fiverr. I have 300+ registrations, with 1 FTB commission so far. It is my understanding that "no" countries/markets are specifically banned. Most of my registrations are Middle East to Indian Subcontinent region, with a few in Africa and several elsewhere. My first FTB comes from Africa. There are some markets I deliberately avoid due to international political sanctions imposed at various levels; but as long as there is not explicit policy or exclusion from Fiverr's perspective, I will continue with my current target markets. Anyone have any comments or insights that they would like to share?
  18. @donnovan86 - Regarding employment status. The employment status is not dependent on a contract. There may be some jurisdictions where contracts override employment law, but in most European countries and jurisdictions, employment law takes precedence over any contracts. In Europe, the employment status is not decided by Fiverr, a contract, or what you as a freelancer belief your status to be. It is determined by the tax authorities when they examine your invoices and the overall nature of your work relationship. The United Kingdom and Ireland may be different, as they have a highly contract-based legal system, and their employment laws are some of the more liberal and deregulated in the Western world. Many EU countries have very high employment costs. As a result, many companies have decided not to employ workers directly but instead engage them as freelancers. This is a well-known practice. However, since this has been abused in the past, employment laws have become stricter in Europe, and most countries have precisely regulated when an individual is considered a "freelancer" and when they are deemed an employee. This determination is not made by a company contract (though it can carry some weight) but is evaluated during tax audits. I know this from experience, because I have been in a similar situation before. It is especially risky if you, as a freelancer, only invoice one company, say Fiverr. If there is a tax audit, that is when alarms could go off, and they will scrutinize your invoice history and then determine whether you were employed or genuinely freelancing. Again, in Europe you do not determine or control this situation, nor does the company. The government does. This, of course, will then have tax implications, among other consequences. The situation becomes more complicated when you are living in an EU country and are working for a company residing in a non-EU jurisdiction. I suppose the first question would be your status, the second who has jurisdiction, the third question would be how your status will impact your tax situation. Also keep in mind, that the government doesn't really care if you interact with many clients. They only look at who you send invoices too. So you may be working with many clients on Fiverr, but at the end of the year, after you receive your Statement of Earnings from Fiverr, you only send one invoice to Fiverr. How many clients you have, is not determined by who you interact with, but who you send invoices too. So for the government, you only have one client not many clients. And if you only have one client over a period of many years, the government may suspect your freelance work relationship is an attempt to bypass employment laws. Since every country has different laws, it is best to consult your tax advisor and ensure you are not operating in any grey zones that could come back to haunt you later. If you live in an EU country and want to play it safe, ensure you invoice more than one client and avoid working for just one company. You could also contact Fiverr support for more insights, but my guess is, they would refer you back to your tax advisor. I would recommend one that has experience with international jurisdictions.
  19. No worries! I was in the same situation as you. And when you draw the line and see how much you're actually making from a sale (after Fiverr's cut, and national taxes applied), rising the prices is indeed the only option. It would've been awesome to be able to register the 20% as expenses, as we would've been able to use that to balance our entity account and at least deduct the VAT on that, but sadly it is what it is. And then you will always have that customer that is saying 10$/service is too much and is very expensive, when you actually make (after fiverr's cut, national tax, conversion tax and transfer to account tax) less than a NET of 4$ haha. There are to many freelancers here that don't declare their income and basically work under the radar, therefore there will always be someone with lower prices than you. But hey! Know your worth and never fall into the pit of price dumping. Your time is valuable! Edit: You can use the fiverr's Promoted Gigs invoice and Seller Plus invoice as expenses each month, since we're receiving an invoice from the party we're contracting with (Fiverr). It's not much, but at least it's a proven written expense. Also, from what I've learnt in accounting, you can even register your expenses with the conversion rate and withdrawal taxes of payoneer and paypal. It's not much, but it's a step forward!
  20. Your seller profile was not approved. Check your email for more details. I was caught by surprise by Fiverr's decision to not approve my seller profile. First a notification under the “bell” icon saying: Your seller profile was not approved. Check your email for more details. More details you said? check the “more details” on the bottom With over 22 years of professional experience in my field and an earning capacity over $100k USD per year as contractor, I firmly believed that I have the qualifications and expertise to offer high-quality, trustworthy services on their platform. After spending several hours filling my profile at fiverr.com with all their form fields. and getting stuck at things like "keywords" that should be "key phrases" without mention that they must have 3 words and 18 characters (20 including spaces!) I spent additional hours spanned through a whole week designing a package or “gig” with the experience and the stuff they asked me to fill. did I mentioned the payment and tax verifications ? I have kept my account for some weeks more to starting again, and earn some bucks here, but as far I know the “Your seller profile was not approved” means “you’re banned forever”, that should be the treat for a fraudster, not for a serious professional. Thinking about Fiverr's right logic to curate their marketplace, it’s a right and a duty, so my opinion is just a drop of water in the sea. The blanket rejection without providing specific reasons feels dismissive of my credentials and capabilities. As a seasoned professional, I find it disheartening to be denied the opportunity to showcase my skills and services on a reputable platform like Fiverr. I would appreciate more transparency from Fiverr regarding their evaluation criteria and decision-making process. Outright rejections with vague explanations such as "not meeting the demand for high-quality services from trustworthy freelancers" seem unconvincing and fail to acknowledge the merits of experienced professionals like myself. (and many reading) I remain committed to finding suitable avenues to offer my services and will continue exploring alternative platforms or independent channels to connect with clients who value my expertise and experience. By now I will close this chapter being fiveRr one of the worst work rejections I have had, not because of the language, but because of the vague arguments exposed Best wishes with your “high-quality, trustworthy services”. We cannot approve your seller profile Hi user_name, We appreciate your interest in becoming a freelancer on Fiverr. To meet the growing demand for high-quality services from trustworthy freelancers, we have carefully considered your profile and service. Unfortunately, we cannot approve your seller profile at this time. Thanks, The Fiverr Team
  21. The order amount was USD 20 (United States Dollars and not Canadian). - Your order amount was $20 and you received $16 (after 20% Fiverr tax) - Your Tip amount was $9.86 and you received $7.89 (after 20% Fiverr tax) Everything looks as it should be!
  22. Contemporary brands aiming for global success get creative to connect with different corners of the world. Today, we're exploring how to make logos that resonate with diverse cultural audiences. Big brands often tweak their logos for local markets, incorporating regional symbols and colors to honor consumer preferences. This is an easy way to show respect for their customers and underscore a commitment to respecting diversity. Here are a few examples for inspiration: Designed by @aldeanodesign Designed by @cesardoreste US buyers dominate Logo Maker sales, and we’ve observed a growing trend of using American flags and symbols over the past year. Designers often start with the US flag, in red, white, and blue, then adjust colors to broaden their appeal to global audiences. Check out these examples: Designed by @zakdesignz Designed by @fransprasetyo Designed by @projectsworks Designed by @logo7itbd Cultural identities are always changing, and if you want your logos to stay on top, they need to evolve too. Our tip? Keep a mix of designs in your portfolio that can be tweaked to fit different cultures, like using generic flags and symbols. If you've got a basic flag design, try adding some red, white, and blue to appeal to the US crowd, and don't forget to tag it accordingly. Always be respectful of cultural traditions—avoid using symbols for profit without understanding their significance. (A little research can go a long way here!) 23. I encountered the same issue with my account being flagged due to inconsistent location concerns. I'm puzzled by this as I've only accessed my account from my phone and laptop, without utilizing any VPNs or location-altering applications. Initially, my account faced a pause due to a lack of updating my financial billing tax ID. To troubleshoot, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app numerous times on my phone, attempting to identify the root cause. However, upon uploading my tax details, the app resumed normal functionality. Despite reaching out to Fiverr multiple times for assistance, I received no response. It was only through my own initiative that I discovered the solution lay in providing my tax information. Shortly after rectifying the issue, I received an alarming message stating: "Your account has been flagged for a severe violation of Fiverr policies. As a result, you are unable to participate in the level system." This situation has left me at a loss regarding how to restore my level status. Fiverr's responses, predominantly automated, lack the depth and clarity needed to address such matters professionally. It's disheartening to note the absence of robust customer service. Upon browsing forums, I've noticed a multitude of users encountering identical issues. This suggests a systemic flaw within Fiverr's platform, which needs urgent attention.
  24. I encountered an issue with my account being flagged due to inconsistent location concerns. 25. Your score affects where you show up in searches too, even if it doesn't change your level. I have over 30 years of tax consulting experience. My nearest competitor is a tax attorney. We both mostly deal with tax compliance and planning issues, domestically and internationally. Under the new system, there are tax preparers from all over the world who are not US tax code experts, but just fill in the blanks in free software for as little as $25 per tax return, who bury us in the search results. We don't even do the same thing. I paused my gigs, but he hasn't had an order in almost two weeks either and used to have a couple per day. And this is in the middle of tax season. We were both 5.0 Level 2s previously. This is what people have been complaining about. It's not just the levels. If your score goes down, it doesn't matter how good or specialized you are. You might just disappear. There was one person earlier in this thread who disappeared from search results and he showed us support's response telling him to bring business in from outside Fiverr if he wanted to increase his score. They're giving him nothing now and this was most of how he made his living.
