  1. Excellent points as always @frank_d and thank you for sharing your insights. Just to add, for those who have tried, or are trying to get onto the Seller Plus program; there are many variables that are used - many that we may not know about - to determine who and when is accepted. It's definitely not simply down to seller level, reviews, or number of orders. I know that for sure. I created my 5r account in Mid August this year & was accepted onto the program on Oct 6th - so roughly 6 weeks after joining the platform. The 5r algo obviously saw something that 'pinged' me up for selection at such an early stage of my 5r journey. Obviously, many new sellers offer great response times, product and customer service etc - which should be a given anyway, so I can only put it down to a couple of things that (& this is presumption & speculation on my part - as I've got no proof) pushed me to the front of the queue. a) Communication. As is so prevalent in today's world, many many people more or less write in 'text' speak - i.e short & abrupt sentences (if that). I personally, don't communicate in that way with any customer. E.g: I set up 10+ Quick messages when I set my account up - all of which were comprehensively focused template replies. b) All my messaging / order communication is long form - i.e no 'lazy sentences', or one word monosyllabic replies. (spam posters on this forum take note). I try to 'explain' to the customer not just 'tell' them. c) I've got extensive FAQs - I've taken the time to do this - many sellers it appears can't be bothered. d) I include multiple 'Order Requirements' questions after an order is placed - it helps the customer and manages their expectations and helps to alleviate future problems. All of this is in simple clear English - attentive, but to the point. (I also believe that 5r may well use an automated Flesch reading algo to check this) There are many other bits that I've added here and there to improve the customer experience, but the point I'm making, is that, right from the off, I made every attempt possible to give the customer a professional service (no matter the size of order or the potential income). 5r we know likes great customer service. Maybe the 5r algo picked up on all these things and decided I was 'worthy'. Who knows, but for those who want to get on the program & be successful as part of 5r's future - this, as far as I can tell, are the only things I did 'above and beyond' that got me selected. So, as @frank_d has already alluded to, focusing on things such as these may be a good idea as developments move forward on 5r. Or, then again, it maybe all down to me just having a pretty face!
  2. Advantages : Knowledge & learning. Disadvantages : Lots and lots of spammers with vacuous, empty, click bait posts.
  3. Well - I had a meet with my success manager today who 'suggested' that I 'might' want to look at my pricing. In other words, put them up. So who am I to argue.
  4. There are real & tangible benefits to visiting and interacting on the forum (in a productive way, not with one sentence spam posts). And that is .... Information! The only other thing you have to decide, is who to listen to!
  5. Good for you! Better take tomorrow off - you'll be drinking a lot today!! 😃 Plus , the other problem is, that the posts are all over the place - there's no chronology at all.
  6. @joshnadin Your post is only 30 minutes old and it's already been voted down to -3, bottom of the pile! This system of members selecting quality posts as opposed to spam is clearly working as it should!!!! 😒 Plus - someone who's sole contribution is 'Righ', now ranks higher in the popularity of posts than others who have given sage advice. Even 'voting' functionality is being spammed! Back to the drawing board for the forum 'powers that be' I think!!!!
  7. nazimbhyiya. You're lazy! Use your brain & create your own content - don't steal mine or anyone else's!!
  8. This sentence would have been a 'fail' in my book! 😄
  9. This is a common concern. The answer is equally simple. If after 2 months, you have had no orders, you have nothing to lose by changing your gig. (Ranking well doesn't matter if you're getting no orders!!). Concentrate on a well written gig desc in perfect English, choose your keywords and tags carefully and do as much research as you can - i.e. look at what your 'successful' competitors are doing then emulate (don't copy) it .... Good luck.
  10. As @alexandamediahas said - same usual tips. Interestingly, this list starts off at #1 with Shouldn't it be 'choose something that you're actually good at' or 'have a skill in'.?
  11. @zeus777, I agree - I will still help if I can, but I don't go as far to check out the gigs, that's far too much work to waste my time on, so you have my full admiration!! 😃 Plus, I'm not going to give a spammer the satisfaction of getting the click. Besides, we can all tell the 'real' requests for help at a moments glance, as opposed to the spam. Problem is, new members who do actually want help, may well look at the forum - 'think what a mess' and leave - that's the effect Spammers have.
  12. I think this thread has been cleansed - posted something last night which has been removed, as have the other spam posts??
  13. I agree. However, every individual needs to account for their own actions. I've likened these spammers' behavior to those of a child. With kids, we can either a) tell them how to behave correctly and admonish them if they don't comply - or b) we can all be very happy clappy & liberal and let them do what the heck they want. No one is an expert in parenting of course, but taking the latter approach usually results in anarchy - which is effectively what's happening here. Plus, as I've mentioned elsewhere, whilst we're all commenting on this (negative) thread & others like it, we're not focusing our efforts on exchanging constructive ideas, helping each other to succeed or, using our input to make this forum a valuable resource for everyone. Surely, that is what a business minded forum is all about?
  14. Yes of course - share all! (unless of course Fiverr support prohibits you from doing so) 😃
  15. Thanks for taking time to comment. Much appreciated. It will probably go down as one of the most constructive answers ever given on this forum! 😄 However, are you able to expand on it at all?
  16. My view is that the reminder is a preemptive strike against members who may, however unwittingly, inadvertently overstep the mark. Personally, as far as I can see from my limited time on the forum, no one has done that. In fact, it would seem that in the main, most forum contributors are pretty sensitive to these issues and have shown restraint, especially given the barrage of rubbish that exasperates us all on a daily basis. However, there is no doubt though that the spam on this forum is being propagated on an industrial scale, from a certain location - quite what the powers that be want to do about that - or not, remains to be seen.
  17. Me too, yesterday - it's nothing personal. Annoying yes, but not personal. Keywords (which we have no idea what they are or why) are flagging up posts for moderation. So no need to leave!
  18. Hi, I wondered if there's any way to see all profile visitors when visiting your own profile page - I've had 100s of profile views, but can only see a record of the last six?? It would be useful to see everyone - if that's possible??
  19. Yep - and this is why the majority of these 'requests for help' are not that at all, but simply spam. These 'contributors' rarely take the constructive advice given to them to amend their gigs for the better, if ever. Even when it's something so easy to implement like suggested grammatical changes. So why ask for advice in the first place? I can only presume that they post (as some 'guru' has possibly advised them) to get clicks on their links. Really, that's news to me?? Plus, if it is true, then judging by the p**s poor English that I receive in my inbox sometimes, it's not working very well! 😃
  20. Hi, I'm a new seller (created my gigs in August) - I can empathise with you completely. I've had a few orders (turned down a lot more!), but as yet none of them have left me an 'official' review - not good, or bad - just nothing - even after appearing to be very pleased with the results. As Fiverr prohibits requesting one - and personally, I don't want to start getting warnings, I suppose it's just pot luck if you get a review or not. All we can do is maximise our gigs (read Fiverr's official tips on gig creation and seo), offer good value and as W. Churchill said "keep b*******g on". I can understand though, with no orders, how do you get good reviews, which result in more orders..... Best of luck - good things come to those who wait!
  21. Good to know: learning something new every day! thanks guys.
