  1. Languageing is definitely hard! Hungarian is a fairly rare language so I often get asked what x and y is in it (NOT for tattoo reasons, luckily) by people I meet - it's always so hard to find the 'right' fit (that doesn't sound dumb but means the same.) For a while, I wanted my first tattoo (if I ever get it) to be the title of one of my favourite songs - in English it's basicaly Fxxck it, but in Korean it's not 100% the same (at least from what tiny bit I understand.) If I ever get it, I'll make sure I'm getting the right version haha.
  2. Haha, thank you! It ended up being Szechuan food because the Swedish place didn't have what we went there for (Snitchzels!). Definitely ended up celebrating though with a slightly too-hot dish! (as in, the single spiciest dish I've had in Sweden. Apparently... it really WAS a Szechuan place!) And thank you so much all ❤️ Still can hardly believe it to be honest ha.
  3. So... I admit this is written in a slight hurry as I was about to start preparing for going out (looks like it will be a celebratory lunch, though I think we're just getting Swedish food lol!) Since 2017, I've been on Fiverr (which, admittedly is...a while. Not too long, not too short, I guess.) I started out as a fairly rookie writer with mostly fanfic-writing experience (a ton of it, and I knew how to 'please' my readers, so there's that) but it was mostly just a 'I'll write for some extra cash while I try to get a new job'. And I made plenty of mistakes over the years. Had no idea how to manage orders at some time (mostly a 'I think I can write 5000 words in a day 7 days a week without crashing) manner, and some 'I was fooled/I fooled myself thinking that I could do x and y when it was not something I was capable of way. So... I have loads of cancellations. Loads. Which is exactly why, as much as I WANTED it, becoming TRS didn't really seem like an option. Well, this morning I was proven wrong and if I tell you that I SCREAMED on the top of my lungs (my boyfriend was very confused, I always called TRS as 'getting the star' for some reason so he had no idea what was going on)... I know that it's just 'another level' but to me it really shows just how far I've come. From fumbling about, a good writer but that's it to a person who works on games, who HAS the time (and money) to buy/play games and just in general... Somewhat accomplished, I guess. I'm bouncing off the walls to be honest, finding it kind of hard to believe but... I guess the stars ARE the limit. (and now, I will go back to the last few days of my vacation, because I'm trying to enjoy the Swedish spring summer while it lasts! (eventually, I will write an actual 'story' story about the ups and downs of stuff, but I just wanted to share my joy haha!)
  4. Nah, not (really) offended, just, you adding it in (but I do agree.) Especially as a new buyer it's not that easy to navigate all the 'exparts' and stuff, so going for higher levelled sellers is probably a good tip. Once someone has more experience - or just doesn't mind spending some cash on potentially 'bleh' work, hoping to find the 'right fit' and all, I think they can go for anyone and just... see what happens. (I'm also crossing my fingers to get TRS every 15th so hopefully I will not be offended for much longer 😄 But it might take a while still.) I like to go for newer sellers but know the risk - and don't really have much weight to my projects right now, so even if they mess up it's ok. If I actually start focusing on my game (and other stuff), I'd likely go for TRS or a level 2 seller I know I can trust. $5 for 1000 words is (I think) what I started out with ages ago! At the time it sounded like a great deal (well, it is for people from countries where even $5 is a lot of money. I only thought about how it takes me about half an hour to write, didn't really consider the fact that 4-5 of those half hours renders me brainless for the rest of the day!) I do think most writers eventually push up their prices though (and hope that the seller you discovered will do so as well.) but $5 for that does seem to be the standard for newbies I guess. Glad it even passed copyscape though! I once wanted to have someone else write a birthday gift for a friend and they ended up basically copy-pasting the bio of a book into notepad. Was fun... Obviously, if it was a serious project I'd have been in a very bad situation.
  5. OR some (select) level two sellers... 😛Everyone time I see you post this (mostly true fact) I'm personally offended (not really...) Jokes aside I do agree mostly - a couple of times I wanted something super cheap I got, well... Yeah. Not great stuff. However, it doesn't seem to be a price only thing. I don't really think artists are allowed to recycle their art, but... I don't think anyone's really stopping them from it (unless there's clear evidence/etc.) Isn't there like a rule that something is only plagarised if xyz % of it was stolen? Some people might just know the exact percenage and use that to their advantage... Contacting sellers with a good amount of reviews, chatting with them prior (I even make sure that we can communicate OK, they don't have to have perfect English but I can be pretty... demanding) seems to help, though. I'd do a google reverse image search with the results to see if they really are recycled old work OR if there's just issues with communication, tho.
  6. No huge rush this week, though I'm quite happy as I'm playing D&D for the first time tomorrow (also like, eek!) My 'big day' tends to be early/mid-week, OR Friday/Saturday, but with me being away/not delivering much for over a week I can kind of understand things being a bit slow. Once I catch up with everything, I already have other stuff (for on-going) projects lined up so I'm honestly just glad to have a bit of an extended 'holiday' as that week abroad really took a lot out of me!
  7. Hehe, no worries 😄 (I don't think it does unless you click on the link directly but I could be wrong!) I like checking out people from here as well tbh! And thank you so much! There's still stuff I'm trying to improve (have a more cohesive visual 'front' being one of them, but I love being able to do something a bit 'quirky'! (and there's...a lot more to come once I have a bit more time to actually launch the gigs!)
  8. It gets really funny sometimes - but I feel like it keeps writers on their toes at least! Wanna watch videos while editing - no can do, grammarly might mess with your flow (...or grammar!) I've been thinking of switching to Prowritingaid for a while, but it feels a lot more... complicated. Pretty tight on time these days but I think I'll make the switch in the autumn. (I do desperately need grammarly though since I have a tendency to be blind even with my glasses on!)
  9. This topic resurfaces from time to time but it's been a while - so I thought I'd ask again! Personally, I had the chance to watch Hamilton (the musical) two days ago and the soundtrack is STUCK in my head right now. I've heard some of the songs before, but now they are all I can listen to (well, will be for a bit, at least!) So... what are YOU listening to right now? (also, if you're debating to watch Hamilton or not... Do it if you have the chance. It's... amazing.)
  10. I was off on vacation last week but ended up keeping my account as normal (mostly because I knew I'd have time for shorter stuff in transit/while flying and work can usually capture my attention enough to help get over my phobia of flight (not this time, chose too early flights!) and felt the anxiety of this quite a bit (though most people seemed quite understanding as the projects they were looking for were longer. It was pretty comical trying to check my messages on top of the Eiffel Tower, though! My two hours of true rest were while we were watching Hamilton (we got tickets, apparently that doesn't happen so easily, got roasted for it on a tour bus after ha!) but I definitely found my eyes wandering to my purse a couple of times though my phones were off ha! (Wonderful poem, by the way, and pretty relatable!)
  11. We just escaped the Swedish heatwave (well... 'Heatwave') and came to Paris right when it's not TOO hot. (Apparently it was worse last week!) I drink lots of cold juice and have wayyy too much ice cream both at home and outside! Also hoping to make some colder foods if it's still hot when I head home this weekend!
  12. THIS is so important (though you'll likely have some people ignoring it completely.) Knowing how to use Canva to put two stock images onto a template does NOT make your a designer. Having a microphone does NOT make you a voice actor. I do admire people who TRY to learn new things (I've been wanting to learn how to draw (the very basics) for a long time and just never had the dedication, even though it'd make my life a lot easier... ) but... people need to understand their own talents and limits. On the other hand, (I don't disagree with this in general) I NEVER have a plan. I try new things, hope for the best and they either take off or not (but obviously that's a reckless way of living and not something people should do.) I'm hoping to get better at planning for the future though.
  13. I think you might have forgotten that user names and the order history (between sellers and buyers) exist. I do agree that changing your picture TOO often probably isn't a great look, but I really wouldn't leave the same picture for ages just because I have good reviews...
  14. I mean, sneaking SOME work in is fine, I think (but I'm also... a workaholic, so!) I started telling regulars / people I knew would be ordering during that time (for longer projects that we do in smaller parts) early this year once we booked everything but even then it's a bit eh to say 'sorry, I'm away next week'. I haven't been to Portaventure - I'm more of a franchise person, in it for the characters, the park itself (as overpriced as it is, it's quite pretty!) There was one aqua park in Italy that I loved ages ago that was almost as pretty but I can't remember the name!) I'm a Disney 'kid' for sure. We're probably doing Gröna Lund and some other parks later this summer as well (but in Sweden) so now I'm hoping to get better at rides! Last time in Disney I chickened out several times.
  15. We're 'hopping' over to Paris and London next week (gone for a full week, too!) and I reaaally tried to make sure that I'll have not much going on during the week (mostly because it's not a lot of time for such huge cities and we're doing Disney for one full day, which is quite a lot, but Disney! ANYWAY... I've been having a fairly quiet period, some new orders but nothing too overwhelming and I was quite happy with it as I have plenty of ongoing games I'm working on (which could basically fill up July just by themselves!). Just today, I was playing some new game I found and had a bunch of back-to-back inquires with projects that I REALLY want to do. So now I'm in a bit of a predicament, but if I push it a bit, I might be able to get everything done and still go on 'vacation mode' (or just let people know my deadlines are longer for x days!) The fact that Friday is midsummer and I technically was planning to take it off DOES make things a bit harder but I'm sure it'll work out! Happy vacation, hope you get to unwind!
  16. At this point it might be just a visual bug, THOUGH in the app it usually bounces between the correct/past evaulation date for me when that's the case. Might just take a bit longer this month because of vacations or something.
  17. The evaulation period ends on the 15th, but from what I've seen you might end up getting promoted/demoted a bit later than that (I'd guess the site does it in batches? Maybe it makes it easier on the system but I'm not sure. It hasn't switched over to July for me either, by the way.
  18. We have a cleaning service come by twice a months (so dishes are still something I suffer from though usually not so bad!) and honestly, just the stress it saves me from is worth it. It's obviously a luxury but it just feels so nice! Another life hack i realized IS true (though I am almost certain I've read about it on here before!) is that some fancy hotels will let you work from their lobbies for free. Again it feels like such a posh thing to do (so does writing from a cafe for me to be honest) but the view was absolutely worth it!
  19. So... I wasn't even alive in 93/94, so I'm not sure if freelancing would have been a possibility (unless it was a weird futuristic world where technology is retro but babies 'exist' before being born 😛 Jokes aside I feel like I likely would be a writer still - I'm not sure if I'd write the sams stuff though. Thinking a bit later, early 2000s I feel like I could have sold loads of corny fanfiction though. I... also would have lost my work while writing a LOT. Even now I forget to save sometimes, so...
  20. Hope you get swept off your feet soon! If not... romantic movies are a good alternative 😛
  21. Haha, I was level 2 wayyyy before losing my single status T.T Funny stuff aside, congrats! I'm hoping to get TRS sometime in the next.... 5 years, but... lots of stuff might happen before that becomes a possibility lol
  22. My plan is to raise my prices / 1000 words by $20 by the end of this year (the goal is to double last year's prices, but to be gradual.) I'm in a bit of a slow period right now, though have enough returning clients, so might take the plunge and start (slowly, though, as I've already raised them by quite a bit since January.) It's funny because I was very 'isolated' from October until about December/early January of this year so I never really realised how expensive Stockholm was until I started commuting here, which for some reason means that I didn't really notice pricing changes much (yet!) but I KNOW what's going on - and definitely don't want to end up in a tricky spot.
  23. I relate to this as well - though sometimes I miss a more fixed salary, it's just nice to be the one in control. I like having some choice over what I end up writing as well, to be honest. (AND the fact that it's not always the same food!)
  24. I'm in the same boat - though I do realise it's very risky (in the sense that freelancing isn't the solution for everyone!), for me, deciding to switch (basically) lifestyles worked out pretty well!
  25. Do people even KNOW how long that takes? Sometimes I'm happy to write that much in 2-3 weeks! (depends heavily on projects and inspiration of course but it's a LOT...) Like, seriously... That being said, I've been getting the 'I need to make sure you can write OK' a lot as well. I understand it at a certain price point and totally don't mind writing a quick sample/showing stuff I've written before but still! I feel like people like trying their luck because they know bartering works in some settings, so... it might work online as well!
