  1. There is a forum? I'm in seller plus for ages, but haven't heard about a forum?
  2. I... Is this the start of a paywall or a barrier between paying vs. non-paying sellers? I mean, if Seller Plus will be accesible to more people / eventually everyone, could it be that those who don't join will eventually be at a severe disadvantage? I'm just speculating (and I'm still torn on what I think about a paywall, so) but.. with all the other changes... (of course, it's also just more money for Fiverr if they have a standard plan that more people can join, but yeah.)
  3. Ah, that is qite sad! Though I guess it IS time for an upgrade in this case. I had the same thing happen with my headphones (it was probably a faulty charger in retrospect.) They just WOULDN'T.CONNECT.TO.ANYTHING. Went on for two weeks. I was desperate (I use them outside if I'm walking or just in general while working. I already have too many cables at my desk, so the extra for the headphones was annoying (at the time I had to move off the dinner table twice a day as I was working from there XD) Fastforward to me just trying them one last time right before ordering a new pair and - they are perfectly fine. I did end up stealing the noisecancelling headphones from my partner for work now (we have people outside renovating the balcony and stuff) but at least I have my cute pink pair, dyed blue from my hair.
  4. I think the five post limit is for everything, so not just new threads The 5 post limit makes sense in the beginning but I genuinely don't think it's unreasonable to ask to be able to post more often = be able to have proper conversations after a year...
  5. Autumn is truly here. Here, in Stockholm it's mercilessly cold (...okay, maybe not that bad...) and pretty gloomy in general, which is definitely making it harder to leave the house. However, now that I have my desk set up (when my set-up is done fully I'll show it off!) it's been... pretty nice. I've been thinking of what to talk about and couldn't help but wonder if anyone has gotten into any silly situations lately? For me... Well, it was more unfortunate, but our airfryer broke after two uses (the fan is loose, we can manage to fix it but will have the store do it). However, the truly silly thing happened yesterday when my (old) phone that I use for work just gave up - but in the most hilarious way. I was trying to read some stuff on it and it just started turning on/off - I was like, hm, battery issues? But then the moment it turned back on, it started trying to call emergency services. Now I can't even turn it off properly (it's off now, I think, after draining the battery), and it seems to be water damage to the screen but.. it was kind of freaky and hilarious. I might try putting it in rice (ha) as a last resort. It'd be nice to keep the old phone working but... I'm not too hopeful. (we're also almost out of rice. again. I'm also on the hunt for fairylights, which has been fun (though I'll likely try to go in person when I'm out over the weekend :D) but yeah, things have been sort of silly lately! I'd love to know what's made you all smile (or snort/chuckle) lately so that we can share a bit of happiness as things get gloomy (or...rather hot in some parts of the globe.)
  6. Thank you! To be honest I should have done it, but it was so ridiculously ironic because of the topic that I was more amused than realizing I should have acted against it!
  7. I mean... I've always been a writer. Not a professional, by any means, but I've been writing since I was a teenager and I've had quite a group of fans at one point. For me (like for many other sellers) my skills/interests came first. I decided to try Fiverr because I was testing the waters, though it took a while for things to truly work out, I guess. I usually go out or just focus on something else for a bit and then bounce back. It seems to work!
  8. I love that! We don't have enough space for darts (maybe could try in the hall but... not a great setting) but I'd love to play something like that from time to time - might actually see if friends wanna go to the arcade/bar thing near-ish that I went to for my birthday. I'm assuming that with the weather getting worse, there'll be less tourists... 😄 We loved it but the place itself was very crowded and some games were broken lol I'm not playing anything on mobile right now - sometimes get into those 'alchemy' games (where you create new elements. or some visual novels but I don't like paying extra lol Genshin had me playing for a solid year, though, but then I got too bored with it (and also switched to PC, so!) I'm getting my second screen tomorrow (well, the screen we have, we need the cables lol) and honestly I'm already scared of how much time I'll spend just playing once I have it 😄 (PS.: I feel like if you had fun while playing darts with the titles and stuff, Sheriff of Nottingham could turn into a ridiculously fun 'race' for you guys! We didn't do any drinking with it but I'm sure other rules can be added to make it even more fun lol)
  9. And above (decided not to tag everyone because we don't name and shame)... You can see ALL the freelancers who've 'read' a post about...reading and doing research. ... I think I'll see myself out.
  10. I think we got like, one crash as well but to be honest that's much less than Cult of the Lamb, so 😄 We did sort of play it through a sick weekend - basically hyperfixated on it and yeah 😄 But it is basically a slightly more interactive movie 😄 I've actually played quite a few of those! Skul I absolutely adored, it was really what got me into the genre I think, though the first one I tried was Dead Cells (which at the time, I found too difficult.) I'm sort of thinking of trying it again, though. Hades I haven't gotten to the true ending yet but sometimes when I'm mad at the world it's nice to go in and slash at stuff lol I'm not sure if I liked Curse of the Dead Gods, though I don't think I gave it much of a try. I've been wanting a Switch, mostly for visual novel purposes, but there's always something else to buy! (like.. Hollow Knight plushies.) My Hornet hasn't arrived yet, but I honestly can't wait. With Halloween and all coming I'm thinking of revisiting Little Witch of the Woods - I'm fairly certain that they've made some upgrades, so I'd love to see it. But I think there's another witchy thing coming out (which..really, just feeds into my issue of getting too many games!)
  11. Are you even surprised at this point? (And yet, that will be the advice repeated/listened to, over and over again...) Deliver orders that are high-quality and prove that you SHOULD be popping up in people's search results. Show samples, learn how to communicate effectively and learn to think for yourself. If something isn't working, do research on what to change, try - and try again if needed.
  12. How are you finding it? We loved it, but there were some bits that weren't so intuitive (lost a ton of clues, especially in the very beginning.) I've been wanting to replay some old pokémon games but I just haven't gotten to them yet XD Have you played the Binding of Isaac, by the way? (I mean, okay, most people have but) I've been sort of torn on getting it, but like, I already have way too much to play xD I've been into rougelikes lately though.
  13. And here it is - the thread I feel like people who aren't as jittery and always playing new stuff like me perhaps dread! It's time for a check-in once more! So... what are you playing these days? With fall knocking on our doors, it feels like board game season is rightfully about to being! Have you brought out the games yet? We actually did an escape room today which was quite good, it had lots of stuff with music which was very interesting. As for actual games, I discovered that I can be good at bluffing/deduction games! I absolutely recommend Sheriff of Nottingham, it was a blast 😄 For video games, I just finished my second playthrough of this gem: I loved it, though it was buggy here and there, but my game only truly broke once (and it was a brand new save.) I also finally finished and I cannot WAIT for the sequel! I'm so excited. Now... here is my dilemma. I.. truly was just browsing the XBOX store (since I still have the pass). Normally, I don't get the games that are about to leave because... I'm stingy like that. But I was like, 'eh, there's this game that looks okay, might as well try before committing to the new Disney game. I think you guys can sort of guess what happened. I'm not sure what it is about it, but so far (okay, few levels in) I LOVE So now I'll be buying it. Which is... fine normally, because it's not that expensive, but it's September and I've been hoping to get and already. And all the other cosy games coming out basically back to back... So... I guess I'll be sort of busy playing in my free time this month 😄 I'd love to hear what you all are splurging on or even revisiting in the fall (and...honestly, would love tips for cosy games, though I feel like that's a backhole I'm not 100% sure I wanna fall into right now.) I definitely find myself playing more indie stuff these days, which, makes sense (I work with indie studios mostly, haven't had any huge messages from big companies yet, though...tbh, not mad about it that much) so I feel like it's only normal 😄 Something fun/gaming-related that's happening also is that tomorrow, I'll get my desk - which means I'll get to set up my laptop AND an extra screen finally 😄 I'm getting a bunch of trinkets to go with it as well so honestly can't wait to play these gems from a somewhat cosier spot 😄 But yeah, happy fall, and I hope that you'll all have some time to relax/have fun!
  14. Yeah I suppose in my case (quirky blue haired gamer girl with a penchant for writing) the chance of being outright copied is smaller since well... You'd have to truly commit! But at a second thought I totally understand where you're coming from (though I'm not sure copycats actually read posts like this but you never know! (Obviously what truly makes me unique is all the weird stuff I offer and not my aesthetic but... Even then. I have been copied though but rather oddly before haha)
  15. I'll have to echo what @brealssaid - though what I'd think about is also the fact that there might be some cultural issues/differences that you weren't great at dealing with? I've noticed it quite often that when there's even a small cultural gap, we can see 'rude' to each other without wanting to be. Add in not-so-perfect English skills (from either side) and you're in a pickle. Now... I will be honest, I'm not sure I'd dare to order from you after seeing that one review. Perhaps it's a sign that you should try to do some more researc/practice a bit (both English and whatever you're offering...) Sometimes, we just aren't ready to sell stuff and that's okay, but we need to be able understand ourselves to know that's the case.
  16. In my experience, most of these accounts end up getting blocked by the messaging system before they get through to me, but some still slip through - they might be altering the texts a bit now to perhaps not pop up as spam to start with? Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything we can do against them. I think my favourite so far is the message from a dude who sent his own picture (and I assume, the ID for their tg under it.) They are fine to make hundreds of accounts a day (if they need to) since it's relatively easy to do so... I'm honestly not sure what more can be done against the spam, to be honest... Though I guess there COULD be ways to filter it out better, but I'm sure some would still fall through.
  17. So - this is a post I meant to write last night, but ended up working a bit extra instead, however that means I have more time today! Anyway, so! First of all, as people, we are of course all unique and great and stuff - but I'm thinking more on the professional 'end' here. With all the sort of 'new' (aka, previously unwritten, now written) rules about originality/not stealing/etc. coming out in the TOS and just in general often seeing the same few gigs (with very similar examples/etc.) I've been thinking a lot about the concept of being original, I suppose. Obviously, in an online marketplace as big as this, there will always be people who offer similar things to what we do - but what makes us (or others) more popular? Other than it being down to just talent of course, what is that extra 'oomph' factor that makes buyers order from certain sellers? So, this sort of train of thought lead to me wondering what makes ME stand out? The answer was.. of course, the crazy hair! (If you want a serious answer, I can also write one up later, but I want to kickstart the convo first for once!) SO: From more seasoned/popular sellers, I'd love to hear what you think is 'new/fresh' about you - and from newbies, I'd also love to hear what new you think you can bring to the table? What is it that you (think or know) sets you apart?
  18. The three countries of the world: US, Canada, German. All other 'byers' are bad. (okay, don't take that seriously, it's a joke.) If you're somewhat familiar with the forum (there are hundreds of topics discussing this) spam in BR is rampant to the extent where most experienced sellers avoid it by all cost. Even most of the non-spammy requests are weird at best (clients too cheap, want everything for little cash and so on.) Now, the good news is that BR IS getting a makeover. How will that affect less-experienced sellers with not so many sales, I'm not sure about, but hopefully it will at least help against the spam. The answer to your question is that you can't do much about it, that's just how it is. What's worked for many other sellers though is simple: make good enough gigs so that you don't have to go hunting for the one good BR.
  19. I have a 'tip' or at least an idea on what you can do (though not sure it'd truly help with sales. Depends on you.) Search up similar gigs like yours in the marketplace - maybe even check the page where your stuff is. Look at the gigs - don't click, just look. They.. often look exactly the same, right? From a buyer's perspective, quite honestly, 9 out of logo gigs look the same. Many look like they were made with templates from canva (or other free sites) and weren't actually designed by a pro (well, they were, I guess, but not by the person selling them.) Some tweaks here and there, sure, but the bases are the same. I'm not saying your logos are the same - but your images sure are. If you TRULY are a designer and as creative as you claim yourself to be, what's stopping you from making images that stand out?
  20. If you go to the grocery store and instead of handing in your application and making sure you're fit to the job, you stand around for 24 hours would you expect the manager to offer you a job or to chase you away for being creepy? Being online (either by staying up which is unhealthy OR using whatever tool that is popular right now that's against TOS) does NOT help you. At all. You know what does? Great cover images on your gigs, especially if you are actually a designer. Do your own research, study the niches you want to ace in and work hard until you have a good portfolio. Be original and you might suceed. (spamming the forum, by the way, also does not help.)
  21. The whole point of this post was that... it is actually VERY important because Fiverr will take it very seriously not. Plagarism, that is. Of course, it happens, but... Fiverr doesn't really want it... And they can shut down gigs for less, so... (From what I understand, they seem to be scanning desctiptions/profiles now as well... And stolen works, too.)
  22. I feel like some people have already missed the point! To be honest when I joined I did just enough research to be able to run an account OK - which is why I think blaming people for messing up a BIT would make me a hypocrite. But... there's a difference between not knowing what to charge and being gullible and, you know, not realizing that you don't even have a seller account set up. My goal with these posts (which is why I'm trying to make them simple) is to at least get through to a FEW people. Even if they end up as my competition. I know that there's a huge cultural/language barrier looming above us - and I feel like maybe the solution could be to try and lower it (and not only just rage about it... though I rage about it a fair bit as well.) My point is that, I guess... I know how it is to be desperate for money and not know what to do. While working online might not be the best solution, I know that in some situations, it IS the only 'job' some peple can get (I personally had a 'phase' when I was so socially awkward that I couldn't hold down a waitressing job because the boss gave me panic attacks and I ended up being freaked out during the whole shift. Lasted 3 days...) Regardless of circumstances, I think that if people do their research and TRY... they might end up with a bit more luck than others, I guess? (sorry, that was a bit rambly...)
  23. This is just purely guessing, but they might go by how old gigs are - Fiverr might have data on how/when descriptions/etc. were changed. If I updated my x gig in January this year, they'd know I did that, right? So if someone started using the same text in February, for example, there'd be a way to track down the changes to see who did it first. (I mean, that's what I think.) Volume of sales doesn't always matter, either. A TRS with high prices might have only 10 orders a month and earn much more than a new seller who has 50. The new seller could still be a copycat, even if they sell more gigs. (same goes with younger/older profiles.)
  24. Read the TOS. Study the website. Don't be lazy. Seriously. Before you sign up and start looking into how to make your gig (or in the worst case, spamming other sellers to give you work FROM a buyer account), do your research and READ. Ask questions on the forum if you need to. Join discord/fb/whatever groups. Know the site enough that you can navigate it well enough by the time you first sell something. Something I've noticed to be rampant these days is people who not only just don't bother to check the rules (which, OK, many people don't, but on a site where you earn $ might be a bit odd.) but also... don't know ANYTHING about how Fiverr works. Now, of course, there will be growing pains - not everything is simple on here. But if you bother to take that extra five minutes while signing up to BROWSE the site to see the people you might compete with, to see what they are doing well (or..not), or to even just understand the features themselves... Trust me, your chance at earning even five bucks is going to be much higher. Knowing what you're getting yourself into is the number one rule when getting a job... Why should an online job be any different from that? I know that some people struggle with English and use a translator to communicate (which... isn't always very efficient) but even then, there's measures you can take to make sure you get things right. Just this week so far, I had 3 BUYERS trying to get orders from me. Now, I know that this isn't a post about spam, but I've seen similar accounts on here as well - and just in general, people who don't do their homework. So... why not try and get a headstart against them by making sure you're not like that? (warning: this might not be the nicest tone I've used, but being direct is something I'm semi-good at)
  25. Oh no! Jokes aside, I only have to get 2 out and they are actually 'out' so I'm hoping it won't be worse than a normal extraction, but then next year I'm undergoing actual jaw surgery which is... terrifying (well, if I even manage to go through it, that is!) Dental stuff for me has always felt just so.. creepy even when they do it without pain o.o To be fair, I already struggle with eating sometimes due to my jaw-issues, so I don't think it can get much worse (but...famous last words, right?) Fun fact - my impressions/etc. hit an ALL-TIME LOW like, seriously, right before I got the TRS badge. It was... really weird (?) but.. it happened! Good luck with picking your account back up! It's not easy but... it's possible! I was also invited to some filmings (for a game show I might end up working on...well, already working on) but I'd be too scared to travel (not sure about the rules excatly on the site itself, but it's more personal fears to be honest.) As much as I'd love to go, I know that right now I'm not really good to travel alone more than a few days at a time (but, again, I'm gearing up for surgery and stuff so!) It sounds super fun to travel a bit though, especially in October when the weather isn't wayy too hot! I've also had WAY TOO vivid dreams in the past few weeks - it's been crazy! I also apparently snore (I don't!) so it's been fun lol I tried drinking chamomile tea last night with some honey (it's got other stuff in it too I think...rose and hibiscus maybe?) and I actually slept pretty well so that might be an option if the nightmare wasn't just a one-off thing for you! (I'm definitely overusing my new kettle now - way easier than having to keep an eye out on the stove and stuff haha.)
