The last three world cup has become like, every winner team has to leave in the group section, they get dropped

But if they were ‘winners’ they’d have gone through to the last 16. They weren’t so they didn’t.

Better luck next time to all who went home after the group stages, or didn’t qualify in the first place. ⚽

I am expecting it to be France and Portugal that go through today.

France 2:1 Argentina
Uruguay 1:2 Portugal

In other news, I love how the English analysts are already talking about how they could get to the semi-final… Last time they were at this stage in a major tournament (2 years ago) they were knocked out by Iceland! Colombia are a lot stronger than Iceland!

Although Alan Shearer does admit this is crazy

Unbelievable Russia!

This is why I love the game.

Russia with a brilliant defensive performance who played to their strengths and Spain, the skilful, gifted, and experienced masters, couldn’t overcome it. Just brilliant.
