  1. My man, you dont need 4 robots to clean that house. You need Optimus Prime and TI1000 to clean that. No wonder why you dont clean your house ever. Screw that.
  2. Yeah Living alone of course makes it easier for the most part. My place is about 80m2 2 bedroom, kitchen+living room. A small and a big bathroom (I use small bathroom as a big closet) For a bonus, i have a little garden. Which there are 5 cats living rent free. I forgot to add those, i spend about 10 minutes daily for them. Taking out their poopies, refreshing their food and drink. And once every 2 weeks i got to clean the garden because they bring some leaves, sticks and whatnot, making a little mess. For garbage situation. Almost every apartment has a janitor in İstanbul. They clean the common areas like the halls, stairs, take out garbages and take care of the garden. They do some repair jobs too if its not something extreme. In the past, like several years ago or something, when online shopping wasnt a thing, they sometimes go out for shopping for the elderly and such. Good utility. We used to call them "doorman" Now its considered somewhat rude and we call them "apartment attendant". But not having baby changes everything. I dont suddenly feel the urge to throw some stuff around like babies do, usually. I cant imagine what a dog would do.
  3. Interesting topic I live alone, and here are my solutions for those. Cleaning floors: 30 minutes: I got a robot that does that. Preparing the robot for that takes 5 minutes. Dusting: 10 minutes: I have 4 horizontal planes in my home. Kitchen counter, dining table, work table, and something to fill the void in the middle of the living room. Aside from kitchen, rest takes like 3 minutes of dusting. I do not care about the little corners of the windows and such to be honest. Dishes: 3 hours: I mostly dont eat at home. Breakfast and lunch at the office, dinner is ordered from outside. At weekends i prepare a good breakfast. I love a slow morning with huge breakfasts. And that does not take 3 hours, that takes 15 minutes+kitchen counter dusting. Changing bed sheets: 10 minutes: I do that every 15 days. Carrying our garbage: 15 minutes: It takes 3 minutes for me, we just leave at the front door nicely sealed, and someone comes and picks them up Doing laundry: 15 minutes: Same Sweeping: 10 minutes: Robot does that Cleaning toilets: 10 minutes: Same So i guess i do not make as much money as you do. But i still make some. I hire someone for every 3-4 months to take out the corners or fridge and stuff like that. So what i make by not cleaning goes to that person. I think i am even.
  4. Wait a minute! Level 2 people gets to have spouses or something? I did NOT know that. Its amazing why its not in the benefits of the levels section. Does Seller plus help? I should have mailed my manager about this outrageous situation. I also am some top rated stuff on another platform. Does that mean i get 2 of them? One for each freelance platform? If so, i will start doing business in 5 other platforms. Oh boy, look at all the potential! This changes everything. Whole new motivation for working harder!
  5. Oh im not even talking about how they look. But when it comes to construction, everyone is a little savage, and they have to compete against men in terms of savagery. And i guess they are not heard as much as they needed as a kind hearted people. So at one point they snap and transform into wild men. Its sad for the both sides. As i have experienced in military and in construction, if an establishment has only men and no woman, we are something else. Doesnt really matter how much professionalism is involved. Every group of people need some women to keep the men leashed. If not, at some point you forget how to interract with people in the social world. Im not talking about "this meeting has 9 men" Im talking about years of not seeing anything female for 10 hours a day. It changes people into wild dogs.
  6. I havent quit my dayjob yet. So i cant speak for full time freelancing yet. Im still working in a company as an architect and doing fantasy illustrations as freelancer. That being said; not quitting my day job and keeping my salary gives me some sort of freedom about freelancing. I have been drawing for... for all my life to be honest. It was my biggest hobby and a big part of my personality i think. So i allways enjoyed doing it. And at 2013 i bought my first tablet, started drawing digitally. Still as a hobby, i just drew what i like, what i want. 2.5 years ago, i started to do this as a freelance job. Now the real enjoyment begins. I do the same thing, same fun, same enjoyment and satisfaction. But now i get paid. And i relatively have it easy. %96 of the time im not having any trouble of satisfyng my client. And, i also like what i draw. Now there is the freedom part comes in. Which is the answer to your question. I still keep my dayjob, so freelancing is not that much a life and death situation. So i am really picky about the jobs. I just accept the clients if their job is fun for me, or im %100 sure if its easy to do. And i am really really picky. If i wasnt, i could have done more than twice the jobs i had done in this 2.5 years. But i have my day job, it consumes time but also gives me the freedom of choice. Being able to choose what im gonna do, and picking the thing i like also gives me motivation. Thus making the product looking better, so i guess my clients are happy about that too. Of course i realise that is not how it always gonna be and not always be sugar coated as it is now. My day job is disgusting and takes too much time. I spend 3-4 hours on the road and work 1/2 of saturdays too. So adding freelance to that really kills my social life. That is a downside. And in a year or two, i plan to quit my dayjob and focus on digital arts solely. That is when i may not be able to get so picky. I may do whatever i can grab. It might lose some taste at that point. But im tryng to build my foundation in a way that i dont have experience it too much. Time will tell.
  7. You are a saint. You know that? With the patience equal to a thousand monks.
  8. I will have a different approach from most of you i think. As day job, im an architect and supervising constructions. Here are some things you should know about my job before going into the freelance life details: -Usually im in middle of nowhere, looking at dust, mud and steel beams. -Trucks and heavy machinery making noises. -Not more than 2 women around, and they have become something else in order to survive within that many men.(Dont look at me like that, it is an issue) -Food is like a prison food. Just calculated callories you need, nothing about taste or any clunary value. -There are not any social activities, gatherings or parties. -Our offices are just the essentials. Nothing extra. Just a desk and computer in a container. There are no places to sit and relax. There isnt any decorative stuff. Not even trees. Its survival mode. We have a vending machive with cookies in it. Thats it. -A lot of shouting, screaming, cursing, fighting. -Its scorching at summer, freezing at winter. And its disgusting when it rains. Basicly every weather is horrible. -Saturday is defiently a work day. Sometimes Sunday too is a workday. -Going to work and getting back to home takes 3-4 hours. I leave my house at 6.30 am. and get back to home at the 18.30. I dont see sunlight at winters. Its more depressing than one would think. -There are no stores, no coffee places around. Nothing you can go after work or blow off some steam in mid day break. -And thanks to the general mentality and economic-politic reasons. My job does NOT pay well, not only me, nobody in construction business is happy about payment. Only thing i have as an architect, im not holding the heavy tool. Im holding a paper, looking at the guy who holds the heavy tool. And people listen to me when i speak. Thats what my degree provides. And saying that im an architect is a cool thing. Thats what my whole education did. Some things good about it; nobody cares what you wear as long as you have your safety equipment on. You can just show up with Cannibal Corpse Tshirt and some jeans. And nobody takes timers to see how many minutes you have spent drinking coffee. And all the walking, standing, stairs and ladders made my legs and butxt like a terminator, im never tired. After doing this for 10 years and seeing it going nowhere(and i saw my superiors got nowhere too), i started to do freelancing. Right now im a part time freelance artist, designing horror and dark fantasy characters for 2 years. So as far as it goes; -I dont spend hours and hours on the road. -I dont have dust in my eyes all the time. -My shoes and pants are NOT dirty. -There are no heavy industrial machinery or whatnot making unimaginable noises, vibrations. -I have good food and drinks -I can watch stuff, listen music or whatever while working -I am surrounded by people, i can just sit in some coffee place with beutiful people around. -No phone calls, no screaming, no walkie talkies(yes we use them in constructions) no fights. -I can decide if i want to work that day -You dont have to look over your shoulder all the time to see if something is falling on you or not. -You have climate control in your house -I can just decide "to hell with it" and go out, walk around, grab a lemonade and spend some time for half a day when i want. Freelancing is amazing. Only thing is you need to keep an eye out, either have some money in the pocket, or make sure you have a consistent flow of buyers. I plan to make this full time job, in a year or something. Screw construction. Kudos to arts and working at home. It is like a dream, some of you people dont appreciate it enough(No judgement, everyone has their own life)
  9. I heard he opened a gig that says "I will do quality rocket science for you"
  10. What kind of help do you need? Do you want us to grant you with our blessings so you can be filled with our combined powers to perform every visual arts better? There is a list in fiverr everywhere, see the categories, pick what you think you can do, and go for it. What do you need from forum?
  11. I am interested in your deviantart journey without disturbing this topic. Would you care to inform what accomplishments/failures you have experienced trough a chat or something?
  12. You can also have it ticked to give source files too. But if you mean, if they get it for personal use, get the source files, change it a little and sell to another? Well that is not your original piece anymore right? I think there are degrees to alteration, at which point its still your design and at which point it isnt. Im not sure of the answer tho. I hope you get to do many thingies. 🙂
  13. Now i will give you some cunning advices if you dont mind. I have been working here for 2 years, and some other platforms aswell. And im doing art. That being said, most of my clients are from USA or Europe, and rarely from Middle east. Almost no one from Africa or Asia. Of course that can change from person to person. But lets stick to that information for now. 10 dollars mean nothing in USA and Europe. 10 dollars mean a hamburger and couple of beers. It might be good for you to get by, but they dont know that. So i think you can set your prices according to those countries. Or Whichever country you get your clients from. After all, you wouldnt work for a hamburger and couple beers. Im not saying give prices specially for every costumer. But your standart prices should be working around the dominant countries of the clients. Here are some couple of reasons and tips to determine your prices 1 - If you set your prices unreasonably low, you will seem desperate and unprofessional. And 10 dollars is unreasonably low unless its something you can do in 5 minutes. I wouldnt even talk to someone who asks for 5-10 dollars if im a buyer.(which at some point, i was) After all, you wouldnt hire someone for a hamburger and couple beers. You would hire a professional who knows what they are doing. Of course, assuming your client is a reasonable person who is not here to milk some hungry cows. 2 - Check your competitors at your level, how much they want, what do they give in return. Try to get close to those. A little lower, a little higher. You decide according to your position and advantages against them. 3 - Like you said, giving too low prices will lower the whole markets value. Not everybody can get by with 10 dollars a week. I personally, need 250 dollars per week just to get by. And im a single guy, a person with a family would need much much more. 4 - Why wouldnt you get more money? You are here as a seller to make money after all. As long as you are doing honest and good work, you should ask for more if you think your prices are low. Im not saying milk your clients, but within the reasonable boundaries, you can ask for more. And you should. 5 - You can estimate how much time your work is gonna cost. And price them accordingly. How much money your time worths in your clients countries? Lets say USA, how much a begginner artist in USA makes in an hour? 15 dollars per hour? Im not sure, take a little time to do research. I do most of my work with custom offers. But i price my custom offers with a reasonable calculations of my gig prices.(I butchered english here, sorry) The reason im doing custom offers, its art. Everybody asks something different. I have a price for a single character design without a background. But the client asks for a 3 headed dragon, now its not same with a single character right? Dragons are much harder, and having lots of heads and wings makes it challenging. I'd price the 3 headed dragon as 3 characters. So its a custom offer. Yes the client asked for a single character, but is it really a single character? So i use my gig prices as a starting point, and scale up to the clients needs. I can explain nicely why a 3 headed dragon would be harder, and why would it take more time to a client. So they should be fine with that too. You sold your piece. You gave your source file. You get your money. They get the commercial rights. Its not yours anymore. What do they do with it, is not your concern. Its not stealing if they pay for it. Some people will charge extra for commercial rights, like you said. That is fine if you dont want to do this for now, since you dont have ratings and such. But consider that once you get a hold on your place in fiverr. I hope it was helpful
  14. To be honest, depending on what do you want, first one is a lot better at certain points. Those two drawings are nothing to be compared against. I got your point, but hear this; I would hang the first one to the wall, not the second one. Its more neutral, better composed. Nothing extremely eye catching compared to the rest of the canvas and very stylish. Its there, and you appreciate it without the need to critisize it. Its perfect, while not tryng to be anything. Respect to the guy and all. But his art style can be considered outdated at some places. You can have those as tokens of the past and respect. But you wouldnt use them in a video game splash art. Things are different now, no one is the best. And im sure, Larry would appreciate that reality too. I guess what im tryng to say, since this is not math or science, art can reflect different. Not all best pieces are the best solutions. I have one of the Van Gogh's earlier paintings reproduced "Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette" and use it on the wall of my living room. While Van Gogh has arguably much better and more known and respected pieces. But i wanted the skull to fill my aestehtic needs. You dont need to push for the "Starry Night" every time you mention Van Gogh. For the topic: Yes you can find quality work in fiverr. I usually look at my competitors in the art section of fiverr. I consider myself good. But i am moved by some of the peoples talents out there. Sometimes there is a depressingly huge talent/experience gap. And those people are sometimes 5-10 years younger than me. It amazes me. And some of them, they are not what they claim to be. If you have some idea of what you are looking for, you can find the person you need. But of course, like everything else, a good craftsman will bill you for more. Or at least, they should. I think accidentally, we have made a good topic to read here. Thank you @moikchap
  15. Nice one. Let me try: - I have reached my economic goals for this year. It was a fast first 5 months. It wasnt a hard goal, didint set my expectations high enough i think. - I need to make a strong pressence in some social media platforms and artstation. I know my work is good, but reaching to the masses is a different game. A game apperantly im not good at. So i have no idea how to achieve that goal. I have watched some youtube videos about it. But still unsure how to apply those methods myself. I have an okay income from freelance platforms and my day job. But i want different baskets to put my eggs. So social media can be a good window. - I will lose the weight i have gained in the pandemic, trough boxing, which goes well for now. - Get better at drawing by practice. I have came a long way this year, just need to push a little more. Its satisfactory for myself too. For fiverr; - I just need a little bit more so i can head on to the TRS. I will get there in 3 months or something. Will set my next goals according to that. Only thing is, i need to be accepted, which i dont know how much time it will take. But i have a seller plus membership. It may help. This year is not going to be the most exciting one for me. I need to grind, thats what i need to do. Next year i will collect the fruits. I will leave the dayjob(construction) and go full time with arts trough freelance. At least thats the goal.
  16. I have finished a big project last month. Now its time to relax. Im not planning to take on big projects untill the end of summer. (Unless something juicy hops on my lap) 2 weeks ago i have started boxing again. ( ı had taken a break when pandemic started) Not for fighting, but as a training excersice. The place im going there is full of career guys and husbands, so we are kinda old to start that kind of action. We are all going to work tomorrow, so we are not trashing each other. But breaking a lot of sweat. And its fun too! I allways liked doing physical activities. Boxing is both a great excersice and very fun to practice. I am a bulky guy, i'd like to believe im strong too. Some comes from my past swimming/boxing experiences, some are lucky genes. But Let me tell you, you cannot match a persons energy, reflexes and speed if they are 10 years younger than you. So fighting is not an option if i dont want an absolute defeat 😄 Its like Mountain vs Oberyn Martell from game of thrones. But mountain is unable to catch the Oberyn's head. 😄 Other than that, my cats occupyng my garden are all grown up now, i think they are about to leave.(we kinda have this open relationship, they come and go as they like, and i feed them daily for the price of some cute meows and elimination of the pests) So when they leave, i will set up my chair in the front yard, have something cold to drink and die in the scorching sunlight.(I am unusually pale for the country i live in, Turkey. So i live like a vampire mostly) So you can say, i have taken a break from drawing for projects to get punched in the stomach and getting incinerated by the sun. That is my summer plan. OH, and i have a birthday coming in two weeks, i think i will have some beers that day.
  17. Yes you can. If you can get your visa and pay for the plane tickets. Getting the visa is a little bit of work depending where you are from. But you can learn those from the ambassadors i think. After that you can experience both of those countries in 3D. Its amazing!
  18. I only want an "Accept" button for those who just put some orders without asking, not even matching any of my gigs, or not putting enough information for me to start. A buyer comes, gives me a good for nothing description and leaves. Not answering my questions or whatnot. And time is ticking. That is horrible. If i do it, it wont be a good job, if i cancel it, it will destroy my stats. There is no good way to get out of it. Some people dont even look at the gig pricing. They ask 5 characters in the same scene with colors, while the package offers 1 without colors. That just harms me. That would solve many, many problems mentioned before me. And if you want to keep track of it, you can just put some timer on the "accept" and "decline" buttons for them to effect your response rate.
  19. Calm down, i only shared my experience. There is no advice or anything. And mine was, level 2 did not really do much. I had a huge upbringing when i became level 1 from 0. But not the same when i become 2. So what im tryng to say, dont dwell on it too much. If it does any good for you, perfect. If it doesnt, dont make a big deal of it. By we will see, i meant i will see what would happen when i become a top seller. There is no challange.
  20. Well, sorry to say but you sounded exactly like those robots to me. I have been level 2 three times now(jumping up and down because sometimes you just cant give the attention fiverr needs), cant say it really changes anything. In fact, level 1 might be better depending the situation. You have got reviews and a level, thats what matters actually. Doesnt matter which level. Maybe being top rated changes things, but im not sure. We will see in couple months. Sorry to burst your bubble. But thats the way it is.
  21. I use this to kill time mostly. Sometimes jumping into some discussions. Rarely start a topic, unless i see the need. Its like a coffee break for me. Sometimes i come here to see some mad max fury. But people are mostly calm, so it doesnt give me the action i need 😄 But sometimes @newsmike drops some bombs. Which is always appreciated.
  22. I have different choices for different stuff i do. If im going to the gym, i listen metal. In flames, Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity kinda stuff. If im going back from gym, i listen to funk/disco untill im done with the shover. Its uplifting and positive. Really good while taking a shower. 😄 What i do as a freelance is mostly dark fantasy character designs. So if im working, i usually listen to "danheim" great artist does some ancient viking ambiance kinda thing. Really dark stuff. But because music infulances what i design and paint, i pick some ambient accordingly and listen to that. If i need to draw some robots, i put on some industrial electronic, if i need a crusader drawn, i put on some medieval holy chants. Really opens up some dimensions. Its like a drug, but legal. There is mostly no pop or hiphop in my arsenal. maybe 1 or 2 exception
  23. After im done with a project(at least done for that day) i pop a cigaratte , put both my feet on the table, sit back and enjoy the smoke. It may include taking a distant look at what i have done. But generally, if im not working. Im either watching stuff, gaming, or boxing. Not boxing in a ring against other people, but as training. It really works every muscle you have. And i enjoy doing physical stuff. But i assume having a kid or a spause will limit the things you can do.
  24. Welcome. https://community.fiverr.com/forums/forum/64-graphics-design/ Take a look! This is the artsy page of the forum. Sometimes you can find more on to the point stuff there. And about those bot guys, yeah as said, you will learn to ignore them, or choose a darker path and have fun with them.
  25. Sometimes cultural differences are getting sharper in those situations. In some communities they bargain hard and they ask for riddicilous discounts. And as a seller you just make your way up again. It goes back and forth. So it might be really common to ask for %90 discount from where your client is. I am from Turkey, and we do it here commonly. Its normal, your friends will get upset if you dont ask for a riddicilous discounts at the start. Also sellers expect you to do it and start from a riddicilously high price. So it takes a little discussion. In bazaars sometimes they can just give you a little piece of what you are buying (if its edible) for you to taste it right there, with a huge knife directly pointed to your mouth with a little piece of melon on the point. As a part of the bargain. To show you that their product is juicy and they want to prove it. While buying a car, you both shout your preffered price while shaking hands. When both hands go down, you both say your price, when both hands going up, you take a breath. It goes on and on. Now lets do the opposite; You are a melon knife pointing kinda guy in some cold and barren northern europe country. Compared to you, nobody bargains, they just tell you the price and expects you to buy it or scram. But you want them to stick their melon knife to your mouth, just like you would do, to sell their product. But no, nobody cares if you like the taste of the melon. Now you are upset because they dont seem to care about selling their product, they dont seem to be interested in doing business with you. Otherwise, why wouldnt they stab you in the face with a melon? Right? Asking a discount or refusing to do it is not always mean something unwell is happening. It may be simply "difference"
