Etiquettes for navigating ratings and reviews from buyers
vibronx replied to Kesha's topic in Sellers Best Practices
Couldn't be more thrilled 🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱🧱!!!!! I've always loved receiving messages asking me for "plz more jop sir," and it just makes Fiverr a much more professional marketplace! We all know that buyers are stupid, so how would they know that they can order from us again if we don't tell them?- 172 replies

Etiquettes for navigating ratings and reviews from buyers
vibronx replied to Kesha's topic in Sellers Best Practices
I’ve never asked for a review. I was a buyer first and always saw it as kinda pushy since I knew Fiverr would ask me to leave one a million times. Well, I was also very cheap when I started, so I probably didn’t work with the most professional or eloquent sellers, either. Also, a couple of years ago, the consensus on the forum was that it wasn’t allowed to ask for a review at all because of a CS response to @vickiespencer, I believe it was. At that time, Fiverr was never really clear about it. Still, I’ve had sellers chase me in my inbox spamming/begging me to leave a review mere minutes after delivering an order and not letting go (yes, they kept writing messages) until I logged in and told them to shut up. Also, had one go ballistic after I left a negative review. So, I’m not surprised that this post is necessary and that many sellers end up getting warnings.- 172 replies

Why are you using Fiverr’s logo as your profile picture?

Update: Addressing new level system questions and feedback
vibronx replied to Kesha's topic in News From the Product Team
That really sucks. To avoid this in the future, you could turn on Request To Order if you have access to it and only send an offer once you have all the details. I think 7(?) out of my 9 cancelations have come from orders placed by mistake. Since I turned on RTO, I have had 0 cancelations, so it might help. -
Update: Addressing new level system questions and feedback

As @catwriter said earlier, they don't care. They want to act like they do, but they don't. Maybe they're a little surprised by the massive backlash, but the new update likely achieved exactly what they wanted. -
Did you really? You have five reviews, so you couldn't have gotten orders daily for very long... You offer niche gigs, so there might not be that many buyers. Also, your gig descriptions are extremely short—you should expand them to persuade buyers.

I am not quite sure the majority of freelancers are capable. However, you can avoid bad sellers if you learn how to vet them properly. OP, I would recommed that you only go with Level 2+ sellers from now on if you don't already. Maybe that will change with the new review system, but it's a pretty good rule of thumb if you are a new buyer.

Update: Addressing new level system questions and feedback

Wow, I didn’t know about that. $15? That’s insane. It would cost thousands of dollars to properly train the people who really need a service like that. -
Yes, let’s hear it @wordpress_zones. Who told you this?

No. And I think you should stop listening to that “resource.”

Update: Addressing new level system questions and feedback

Indeed. Back when I was a clueless new buyer, I ran into so many of those people. I naively thought that if you said you could do something, you wouldn't lie about it. Yeah, about that... 🙄 Made me very hesitant to buy on Fiverr after that experience. Now, I'm much better at vetting, so I don't have that problem anymore. But it is something that will chase away many new buyers. In my own little niche, I would basically say that all except maybe two or three other sellers are outright scammers. I have proofread some of their stuff, so I know. A quick way to solve this (and my big wish!) would be to simply reintroduce the old Danish skill test. If you couldn't get 10/10 on that, you don't have any business translating into Danish. That's how easy it was. And the niche is so small that I don't even think the answers would get posted online. -
Unanswered Open Support Request - bad seller - what to do?
vibronx replied to davidmanley's question in Questions
Request a revision for "partial delivery" (or maybe it's called empty delivery, I don't remember) - which is another TOS violation. Remember to add this information to your support ticket. Otherwise, I don't think you can do much else than wait for them to respond. I'm sure they'll cancel it for you, and I hope they'll also punish the seller. -
Account in revision plus Order canceled by FIVERR
vibronx replied to ariellecolgate's topic in My Fiverr Experience
That’s totally unrealistic. Also, you delivered the order without... you know, actually doing what you were supposed to. And you're still wondering why the order got canceled and your account got restricted? 🤦♂️ EDIT: And why is the delivery time 21 days on a supposed 60-day project? Were you planning on cheating your buyer with a partial delivery all along? -
Good News, Everyone! OpenAI Now Does 🤯MINDBLOWINGLY🤯 GOOD Videos with Sora!
vibronx replied to emmaki's topic in Seller Wins
Which is absolutely insane. Since Fiverr now requires us to explicitly state that we don’t want any AI use in our orders, I’m going to have to do that. I’m still thinking about the best way to word my message to sellers without offending them. I know that some are more sensitive about the subject than others, so it’s important not to start the relationship off on the wrong foot. -
Amazing attitude to have when you don’t know how laughable what you said was. You were talking to someone who has been through much worse than the loss of Fiverr income. Rude beyond belief.

And it's a really stupid decision. If you pay an AI "artist" to make "art," you're not too bright. You could just go prompt the machine yourself. -
Update: Addressing new level system questions and feedback
vibronx replied to Kesha's topic in News From the Product Team
I have asked for an extension as a buyer, too. Or at least very heavily encouraged that a seller could use extensions on my orders as they saw fit. I know they wouldn't have done so if I didn't encourage it. I simply did it to be a good buyer. I would feel horrible if it ended up hurting that seller. Which it probably did now... -

Not necessarily. -
There was a seller with 200+ reviews who had made a video tutorial on Facebook on how to get fake reviews. Even though I was told 21% of his reviews were fake, he was only given a warning at first. I reached out to a m.od who escalated the issue and got him banned. So yes, it's very possible.

Oh, the absolute horror!
-
Yep. And it is not a small percentage. Many sellers go absolutely crazy with either sob stories, as you said, or they get downright hostile and scary. Now, I never give negative reviews to avoid that hostility. If I'm not satisfied I don't leave a review, but instead wait for the private feedback.

Maybe you have gotten low scores in your private reviews.

It's a manual process, so you don't know if you would have been promoted. You probably wouldn't have if your success score is low.
