Protect the sellers in milestone orders!
donnovan86 replied to linkbuilderphil's topic in Fiverr.com Feedback
I wouldn't touch milestones with a first time buyer. You can't rely on a new buyer to stick to 3-4 milestones, I learned that the hard way too. The milestones system is fine, but you want to use it with a return client that knows how the system (and Fiverr) works. Otherwise, you will always have all kinds of issues. Fiverr also focuses more on first time buyer experiences, so canceling such an order can bring in some issues as well, at least for a few months. -
Hey Did he place an order with you? Or you did all this work without a pending order? If he didn't place an order, you can easily mark one of the messages as Spam or go to his Profile and block him. If you have a pending order with him, things are more difficult. Ideally, you want to cancel the order if you can't fulfill it!

Fiverr 4.0 - Some thoughts on the current state of things
donnovan86 replied to frank_d's topic in Lounge
To be honest Promoted Gigs has never been extremely impressive, at least in my case. It's lucrative, and it does bring in clients that can be repeat buyers in the long run. At least that was the case for me. The downside is they count all the income generated by that buyer as Promoted Gigs income, which is not exactly accurate.- 627 replies

Spent 4.81, sales $35 in my case. And pretty sure they counted that from a repeat buyer. So yes, pretty bad results all across the board.- 627 replies

Pretty sure this doesn't affect buyers, as those are seller fees.- 627 replies

You won't receive a job if you're active, that's meaningless. Another problem is that you say you're a Professional Digital Marketer and trainer, I can tell you right away that most people here will encourage you to use those digital marketing skills you have to promote your business and reach customers.

I am pretty sure it's based on your previous performance. I am in this program and didn't get it. Yet... I guess.- 627 replies

It might be due to editing your gig. It can also be from bad private reviews from new/older clients, or you not having a great performance when compared to other sellers in your category. So yes, there can be a number of things here.

Well I am not sure Fiverr allows you to close an account that has a warning, just so you can start with a clean slate. I might be wrong, but it seems it would be very manipulative to do so.

Fiverr 4.0 - Some thoughts on the current state of things
donnovan86 replied to frank_d's topic in Lounge
I guess it also depends on how much competition you have. Even if you're pushed behind due to some stats, if there aren't a lot of people in your niche, that won't be a huge issue. People that feel this hit are those that work in larger niches or which rely on first time clients mostly. Those are the ones feeling the wrath of this algorithm change the most.- 627 replies

Fiverr 4.0 - Some thoughts on the current state of things
donnovan86 replied to frank_d's topic in Lounge
Well clearly a lot of first time buyers complete those surveys randomly. I am not sure why Fiverr offers them so much strength now, as Visualstudios said above, this can easily be manipulated by a competitor..- 627 replies

What is the meaning of the "new tag" I see in my profile?
donnovan86 replied to designer_tanvi's question in Starter Questions
What he meant was the new tag where we have to add our name, because a lot of people have unprofessional usernames. -

donnovan86 replied to designer_tanvi's question in Starter Questions
You already did what you were supposed to, you added your full name. It's a more professional way to showcase your name on Fiverr, espeically for people that have a rather random username. -
Are sellers required to offer a $5 gig or package?
donnovan86 replied to montanaburr's question in Starter Questions
Yes, I just told you where to find it. I meant turn on not off, but I can't edit anymore. Anyway, it's self-explanatory. -

There are no buyer requests anymore. Turn off your Briefs function from the My Business/Gigs menu. -

I am a Seller Plus member and I never received that. I received one when the BSS thing was implemented but since then, nothing. I guess they counted me out because I contacted the manager beforehand. Who knows.- 627 replies

Can buyers download files before they click on revision?
donnovan86 replied to alaecs's question in Starter Questions
Of course they can download the files. How can they know they need a revision if they don't even see the files? So of course a person can download every file you send. It's the nature of this website. If it's unfinished, maybe add your own watermark. I don't think Fiverr adds any watermarks, but I am a writer not a designer, so maybe a designer knows that.- 5 replies
