  1. Indeed! If I have a longstanding buyer who is fighting a tight budget and need me to do something, I'm far more likely to budge on the budget to help them out.
  2. Making fun of typos is now discrimination. But only if the feelings of sensitive people get hurt. If this is the way we're headed, where the forum rules are going to be dictated by over-sensitive users to soften the blow for talentless individuals, I'm actually gonna stop using it. I consider myself a nice person, but also, an honest person, even when that sometimes means I'll hurt some feelings. I'm not rude, and I truly try to help anyone I feel is worthy of my attention. I've even pointed out that I dislike the practice of constantly pointing out where people come from, and openly been against suggestions to have separate forums for people from different regions, simply because I despice racism. What matters to me is talent. Some people have it. Some people don't. I expect a professional forum environment to reflect this, and if it doesn't, my interest in using said forum will dwindle. If the spam and pointless postings here weren't enough, we are now treated to rules about "hate speech" with no clear definition, and we're expected to guess where to draw the line ourselves. If we fail, we're treated to a ban. Meanwhile, thousands of members are posting bad advice, openly discussing how to scam the platform or its buyers, posting about their 3rd order and how they now have "fans" or thanking God for their five-star review. Did someone tip the bucket of grey water during the "forum cleanup"? I'm gonna leave this great piece about being "offended".
  3. Going after hate speech if fine, and all. I fully support it. But this forum has way bigger issues than "hate speech" (which can be defined by anyone as anything they disagree with, these days). There's topics full of stupid advice, spam, meaningless copy/paste answers, sellers openly discussing scamming the platform or buyers, and a team of moderators who aren't even deleting posts that obviously are in violation of the rules. I think I can count on one hand the number of true "hate speech" posts I've read since I started hanging out here. On the other hand, there's not enough fingers on all the humans of this planet to count the number of spam posts! So yeah. I can see the importance of stopping "hate speech". But like I said - the forum has bigger issues.
  4. Gigs are rotated on a regular basis. Sellers who have a high level of customer satisfaction tend to rank higher, meaning you should always do everything in your power to make your buyers happy with your service. Quality is king. There are thousands of posts on the forum about gig marketing. I suggest you read some of them :)
  5. No, it's not. In most business transactions, it's normal to have a NET date of 15 or 30 days. Some even operate with a 90 (!) day NET date. As a freelancer, you must plan to have a steady revenue stream at all times, while making sure you always have money flowing in. If you spend your earnings now, you have nothing tomorrow. Save them until you have enough for three weeks. Then you can start spending as normal, and in two weeks time, you'll have more. Being responsible with your money is essential as a freelancer. 14 days isn't "too much". You just have to take responsibility and plan for these things. The money "pending clearance" in my account isn't money I need now. Not next week. Or two weeks, even. It's money I plan to spend in a month or two! Have a buffer. ;)
  6. Gig rank is based on several metrics. The most important one is customer satisfaction. If your buyers aren't happy, they will let Fiverr know in the hidden feedback after an order. So make sure to always give your buyers the best possible service. Beyond that, gigs are rotated on a regular basis. Your position is not permanent. Make sure your gigs are optimized for search, do a great job of making your buyers happy, and you'll rank higher. I see that you have no reviews, so you probably haven't gotten off to a good start. That's probably because you had no business plan, strategy and did zero research before you started your gigs. Starting a business takes time, effort and investment. You can't just make some gigs and expect to "rank".
  7. I was asked to do a Scientology voice over once. They wanted me to sign a contract stating I would be held responsible for anything I do now or in the future, that in any way reflects badly on their church. I politely said no thanks.
  8. Now you've made me want to make a new post: "Hail Satan! I got my second order!".
  9. I've seen multiple buyers who mention their religion in gig descriptions and profile descriptions. One seller even mentioned it twice in his gig description, for a totally non-religion-related gig. I don't care if you're a Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu or Satanist. Religion and business do not mix. Trying to convince a non-muslim buyer that you're trustworthy because you're a muslim will not get you sales. The same goes for any other religion, too. It's unprofessional and it will scare off many buyers. So do yourself a favor: never, ever, bring up religion while doing business, unless you're offering some religious service. P.S. This is not a discussion about religion. I don't care about what you believe in. This is about business, and how it should be conducted if you want to convert prospects into clients on an international platform.
  10. It will be released on December 22nd this year. ;)
  11. There is no benefit if you're thinking about benefits as a seller on Fiverr. What you do on the forum has no influence over your rankings, ratings, sales or stats on Fiverr. Obviously, you can use the knowledge shared by experienced sellers on the forum to get better at what you do, but that's the limit of what the forum will do for you. On the forum itself, increasing your reputation by contributing meaningful content to the forum increases how many posts you can make on the forum per day. But like I said: your activity on the forum does not affect your sales or Fiverr profile directly. The two are entirely separate.
  12. I'm a top rated seller. I get the Fiverrs Choice badge sometimes. Sometimes, someone else gets it for a while. But no matter if you get it or not, you should treat every order as if it were a Fiverrs Choice order, because the buyer chose you, and you're supposed to impress them.
  13. It's a badge you get on your gig if you deliver outstanding services and support to your buyers, meaning they leave very positive hidden feedback to Fiverr after their order. If you keep making your buyers happy, you might get it from time to time. If you get it and a buyer orders from your gig, you'll see a notice at the top of the order that its a Fiverrs choice order. If you keep delivering excellent services, you might get it multiple times. It's all about making your buyers happy.
  14. You rank your gigs by being good at what you do. This should start with some basic knowledge about the platform, which is easily located on this forum if you just look for it - something I'm willing to bet you haven't tried to do.
  15. It's supposed to be. Starting a new business is difficult. If it wasn't, anyone could do it. You are competing with skillfull people who know what they are doing. If you're not one of them, you don't deserve success. Success is earned through hard work, dedication, investments and knowledge. So yes. It's difficult. And it should be. In fact, I feel it should become even more difficult, by making anyone who wishes to sell on Fiverr pay a monthly fee. This isn't a welfare platform. It's a business platform.
  16. I'm a big fan of Derren Brown. That guy is a genious.
  17. I bet astrologists would be very happy indeed. Yet another way they can pocket other people's money while using their fake cold-reading techniques and "this matches every idiot out there"-templates to make people believe that balls of plasma hundreds of lightyears away, can tell them who they are. Just gonna leave this here, for your viewing pleasure.
  18. The only forum category where you are allowed to post your gig links is in the "Improve my gig" category and "My Fiverr gig" category. This category (Tips for sellers) is meant for advice and tips from experienced sellers. Always check that you're posting in the right category.
  19. Haha. Yeah. Tough lesson! Better to ignore the message if its old, even if it is a real buyer, because 1) they would have likely found someone else by now, and 2) it will kill your response rate.
  20. Indeed. You should check your spam folder regularly, but keep in mind, if you unmark a spam message that's more than 24 hours old, it will affect your response rate, since it took you more than 24 hours to respond to it! So be careful guys! I've made that mistake with a 2 months old message, and that was my primer to never overlook my spam folder again.
  21. Both are really bad. I don't have the numbers in my head, but I believe Fiverr has a slightly better exchange rate than Paypal, but we're not talking much. Then there's the fees you have to pay to Paypal, Payoneer or to have a prepaid Revenue Card. Either way, you're going to pay about the same. There will be slight differences in fees. Some will have better exchange rates but higher fees, some will have the opposite. Unless you have a US bank account, you'll lose. I've heard about people using Transferwise, since that offers you a US bank account (at least, that's what I've read) and lets you transfer to a US account in USD, and then get access to their, allegedly, better rates. I haven't tried or researched this option myself, but I found a guy who has indeed done exactly this: https://jimonf1.medium.com/save-yourself-from-fiverrs-foreign-exchange-fees-210ff5d2db99 So that could be a way if you absolutely aren't willing to suffer Paypal or Fiverr exchange rates. Personally, I don't really care. It's a few dollars every now and then to transfer. I pay about 2% of my total revenue in fees, not counting Fiverrs 20% fee for orders. I don't think that's too bad. I use Paypal to transfer to my Revolut account in USD, and then I exchange that for Euros inside the Revolut app. They have ok rates.
  22. If the buyer has a Fiverr Business account, there will be an option for Zoom meetings inside the order. You can not share contact information or talk on Zoom unless it's required to fulfill a service (i.e. tutoring etc.), unless it's with a Business buyer. VID-buyers might also have this option - I'm not 100% sure - but anyway, here's the short answer: No. You can not contact a buyer outside of the platform. (Unless it's a case as described above, in which case you'll see a notification about it at the top of your order with them).
  23. Which steps have you already taken to improve your business?
  24. If you need advice on how to improve, the forum is already full of great tips, guides and helpful posts. You need only look.
  25. This depends entirely on the buyer and seller. If you do outstanding work and the buyer is really happy with your delivery, they might chose to leave a tip after the order has been completed. This should never be expected, and merely come as a positive surprise to the seller. You should never ask for or expect to get a tip, and it's entirely up to the buyer if they feel you deserved it.
