  1. I agree. If they ask for a 30% discount, they'll usually try to squeeze an extra 60% out of you.
  2. I agree, and I think it fits in with Fiverr's apparent preference for having something done automatically, rather than through human effort. With the number of sellers that appear to be in question, I think if I were on the Fiverr staff, I'd welcome an automated resolution instead of having to allocate manual resources to the task.
  3. This is absolutely brilliant, Mike! Fiverr can eliminate the trap they set for themselves when they named their site by giving up on the concept altogether, which I've been in favor of for a long time. It's time for a name change. As an alternative - I think the $5 fee would be a great way to save face and still rebrand.
  4. I completely agree, Mike! I've been saying the same thing for a while. $5 gigs just hold Fiverr back. Maybe if Fiverr went to a paywall it would eliminate this issue.
  5. Same here @sunboatrecords. I have a lot of quick responses, and to use this one would set me back.
  6. You're very welcome, Vickie! And practice is a great way to get used to being on camera.
  7. Thanks Vickie! That's nice to hear. This is an area that takes a lot of practice. 1) Remember where the camera is recording, so you look directly into it. 2) Even if you've memorized what you want to say, be prepared to have a lot of tries. I've been 53 seconds into a 60 second recording many times and fluffed a word, and had to start over. 3) Just relax and speak as if you're in a conversation. 4) Be patient. It just takes time to get it right. 5) I work on an iMac, and iMovie is a great recording tool. An iPhone will work nicely as well. 6) I wear reading glasses for up close, but they sometimes cast reflections, so I've learned to take them off. That means I have to look at the camera without really seeing that well, and remember to keep my eyes wide open, and not squint. 😀 I hope these thoughts help.
  8. Sounds like you were just taking care of yourself, which is a good thing. I did miss your informative posts, and hope they will return. In an environment where Fiverr hardly shares any information at all with the users, It seems ironic that they tried to lay this "gatekeeper" label on you - I always just thought you were sharing your opinions about what was going on. It could be perceived that Fiverr functions under the concept of "knowledge is power," which is why they are so reticent for information to be shared with users.
  9. Great way to look at it. Right now I'd say about 5 to 10% of my business comes from Business Buyers. My hope is to eventually have 80% of my business from the Fiverr Business side, but that's a long way off at the moment. I just don't think the Business side has gotten enough traction so far to generate enough business to give up work from regular Fiverr buyers.
  10. Here's the missing piece to the message from Fiverr - how to become a gig that is exclusively shown on Fiverr Business. Thanks to @mateusblfor pointing to this item in the "Edit" menu for gigs. Still - why on earth would someone intentionally limit their market exposure like this?
  11. This is the most bizarre message I've ever received from Fiverr. It says you can tailor your gigs for Fiverr Business. My question - why would I do that? By listing exclusively on Fiverr Business, I would limit my exposure to a small population, and eliminate a larger portion of buyers who might want my services. I followed the button at the bottom of the email, and it just sent me to my gig page, like the example above. From there - dead end. There was no strategy presented on how to actually make this transition, or even a hint of where to start.
  12. Thanks William! Great news!
  13. I just got a Fiverr's Choice badge on one of my gigs - I only discovered it when a buyer placed an order that had the badge on it.
  14. @smashradio got a notice about a request to extend the order. It's at least active to that point. May still be in testing, but I doubt it. https://community.fiverr.com/forums/topic/291170-buyers-can-now-extend-their-review-period/#comment-1837222 This is the worst case scenario of how buyers can abuse this new "feature." Perhaps if some members of the Fiverr team who worked to deploy this feature had actual experience as a freelancer, they would understand the potential abuses of "unlimited review period extensions." I infer that conclusion because including this "unlimited" feature is something that a freelancer would understand - how many problems it can cause.
  15. LOL - that will work as well as anything else we've tried!😀
  16. I agree! I mentioned that same wording in the other Brief thread.
  17. How about this for an interim adjustment. When a brief match is sent out, what about saying "You may be a match!" Based on the non-matches I'm still getting, saying "It's a match! We think you're a great fit for this brief" seems to only highlight the comic nature of the mismatching process that is actually taking place. Maybe after I start getting matches that lead to jobs, I'd be more inclined to believe "It's a match."
  18. The matching process is working so ineffectively, that using the wording "You're a match!" feels like a sarcastic slap in the face.
  19. From the slow progress this initiative is making toward successful matches, it makes me wonder if any additional work is being done to refine the process. It almost feels like Fiverr threw this against the wall to see if it would stick without further effort on their part. I agree Vickie - if no work is being done to further develop the initiative - heading to major fail!
  20. I finally put some things together after reading the recent posts on this thread. 1) Fiverr is discontinuing the Buyer Request process - buyers will soon be unable to submit these types of requests. 2) The Brief Matching process has so far achieved limited success - not that many successful matches being generated. 3) Buyers are left wading through pages upon pages of possible sellers through organic searches to try and find the service they need. So what is going to make this outcome change? Buyers find it too frustrating to use the available options that remain to them, and begin to look elsewhere to find what they need. The result - Fiverr begins to lose money from this shift. That's what will change the dynamic.
  21. lol - yes, Vickie. I'll hope, but be realistic - my expectations have been greatly lowered since the introduction of this Brief Matching feature!
  22. Yes, Vickie, I do report them. Great insight - it sure seems to be stretching my patience trying to get better matches. If buyers don't get matches, I'm sure they'll have to go back to organic searches, since Buyer Requests are being phased out. Which sort of confirms my suspicion that at least so far, this process is a bust. Great to hear Vickie! I'm glad it's working for someone. I'll leave the feature activated, and hope!
  23. Got it. I see the distinction - the number has stayed steady, but just more questionable-looking briefs.
  24. Interesting, Vickie. You were having a solid stream of good briefs a while back. I've noticed a lot more "do my homework" and "I need work" briefs as well - hopefully they'll figure out a way to weed those out.
