sean0913
As a buyer of many years, I do not use Fiverr for free. When I hire a freelancer, I pay a Service fee to Fiverr. I understand this. However, Fiverr also makes money using Me, in the form of cluttering my inbox with advertising that I did not get compensation for, but they do. If youre going to disrupt an experience that I definitely pay for, then I want either a way to shut off these inbox messages, or compensation as you (fiverr) are unjustly being enriched, while I’m being inconvenienced. Be it a reduction in service fees or a rebate, I’m being used as a money grab for the company with a downgraded customer experience, and sellers are being manipulated and fleeced to pad fiverrs pockets. This needs to be resolved, and since fiverr offers no fair way to reach out with any concerns, without being routed to the “backrooms” and whittled away with choices until you teach the point of irrelevance, I’m forced to make a public post, on this intrusion. Again, I pay for the services I get from fiverr. This is unacceptable. 16

And you get it. I am not sure what ads you are talking about, but remember that you can easily use an ad blocker if there are any ads you don't want to see. Problem solved 🙂

Fiverr should add a way for buyers to opt out of having promoted gig ads appearing in their inbox I think.
donnovan86
True but.. you can easily ignore that. And it's not an ad for stuff outside of the platform. If anything, they are giving you gig ideas that you can easily ignore. At least that's how I think about it. 15
melanielm
Just imagine how rich we'd all be if we got paid every time a company showed us an advertisement! I'd turn off my ad blocker immediately. 17
sean0913
In our message box we get solicited as an advertisement/spam, from a service provider. I dont want to be engaged unless I have initiated the exchange. Its not an ad that is blockable. Ts a paid intrusion into my messages. Imagine looking at your text messages and your phone provider sold your number so now texts can also be spam from people that now have your number. Thats the situation. I want to be paid for it. You cant just charge Me for services then use my inbox, which is for conducting business on this platform, to send Me bullsh!t messages and solicitations, and have no opt out provision. No!

Those are recommendations, services similar to the ones you purchased. It's not like they are selling you toothpaste or whatever random stuff. They should allow people to turn those off, if that's not a possibility. Still, how does that hamper your experience, since you can easily ignore recommendations?
sean0913
Because I get charged to use the service. I use the service. I use search tools to find what I need. I dont need suggestions and intrusions. I don’t need to get false alerts of “messages” tgat aren’t, and have zero way of opting out. I’m being used to take money from you guys, and Fiverr is the one materially enriched. Its nothing short of a money grab. Use Me to advertise, I want to be paid. Full stop. Or else, give Me the option to shut down the feature. I’m not ignoring anything. I’m a paying client. I buy from the site. I hand over money to the service provider and the site for their service fee. Fair play. I do NOT consent to being their advertising target, and having my inbox invaded! Thats NOT service. The inbox is for project communication, period and full stop. Thats it. Spam ads all over the damn site, fine; but stay the hell out of my inbox!
imagination7413
Maybe try a different freelancing site? Generally, boycotts are what people do when they don't like how a business is operating. Don't like what they're doing? Don't give them your money.
sean0913
Oh I have. The cool thing is, if Fiverr is not willing to step up snd take care of their clients and freelancers, other companies will. Thats a free market. And it works. Listen, if these guys would have made a way to contact them without being routed like a lab rat through a maze of “help topics” ultimately ending nowhere, I wouldn’t have put this out here under “Fiverr experiences”. They know what they are doing, if they do it to us buyers, I can only imagine what they do you, the sellers here!
