I generally advise the use of either Shopify or Woo-commerce to clients depending on their needs...

  • If the client is looking solely for an online store where the sole purpose is to sell products then I advise they use Shopify.
  • However, if the client already has a website and are looking to sell products as an 'add-on' feature of the website or a client is looking for a new website with perhaps a blog or separate webpages to discuss their brand/team/vision/ethos; then I advise to them that Woo-commerce is the best option.

Both services are great at what they do but I enjoy the potential functionality you can add to a Wordpress site that utilises the Woo-commerce plugin.

My two cents anyway.

When selecting an e-commerce platform, it's essential to consider factors such as ease of use, features, scalability, cost, integration, and security.
Look for a platform that is intuitive for both you and your customers, offers essential features like payment gateways and inventory management, and can grow with your business. Assess the pricing plans and fees associated with each platform, and ensure it integrates well with your existing tools and services. Security is also critical, so opt for a platform that prioritizes data protection.
