I'm not sure if "popular" is the right word, but ever since COVID hit I have read everywhere that the number of new sellers joining the platform has gone through the roof, made it all way to the moon and even reached Pluto. I believe data entry is a pretty competitive field too. Not really sure if videos will do anything, but maybe record yourself typing and show off how quickly you can type, say a few words to the camera, that might help? Sadly there are many people who lie about their skills so if you actually show proof that might attract people. 19 3 4
vickieito
Hi @elleo1, as @zeus777 mentioned, data entry is extremely competitive and the only way to eliminate the competition is to differentiate yourself from all the other sellers who are offering data entry (including myself). I noticed you don't have a bio written, and that's one way that you can differentiate yourself from other data entry specialists. I did notice in your gig that you mentioned you have 25 years of experience. Maybe you could talk more about your experiences in your bio. I did corporate training for 17 years and was an ESL teacher for 3 years, so the customers that I attract to my data entry gig are teachers and educators. Since I attract teachers and educators, I also opened up more gigs to cater to their needs - Research & Summaries, Curriculum Designs, PowerPoint Designs, and Writing Services. Most of my customers will place orders with at least 3-4 of my gigs that I have listed. Try use your experiences to see which customers you should target and create several gigs catered to them. 22
uk1000
In the main gig image you could make the text on it look clearer when it's shown on the profile (since that's roughly how it will show in search results), especially the red text (the background image makes the text less readable, and maybe make the text a bit bigger). You could add something in your profile description. Maybe add FAQs to the gig if that would help. Your gig title says "data entry" but your gig is in the "data processing->formulas & macros" subcategory. There's less competition there than in the data entry subcat but maybe you could mention formulas/macros etc. more in the gig (eg. gig title/gig description).
vickiespencer
I was curious about the number of data entry gigs, so I checked. Here is what I found. You have some excellent suggestions above. You will not go wrong by heading the advice given.

First, write a gig description as suggested by @uk1000. Second, adjust your tags to data entry related; that should help you get found in searches. Finally, it seems that there is another gig category known as "data entry" so you may be in the wrong category which is playing against you to the algorithm of getting found. You have a gig in the data processing category for data entry. If you create more, you will be able to broaden your reach and appeal to a wider audience. As you are a new seller, I recommend creating seven gigs and putting them up for four weeks to see which ones attract the most attention (impressions) or even get orders. Afterward, remove the five lowest-earning gigs and focus on the two that worked best. My recommendation is a gig for data entry, one gig for web research, one for data collection and one for copy and paste (am unsure about others and allocate very specific tags to each gig). Your gig banner image is just bad. Your profile picture is okay but I'll recommend changing it to a cleaner version suitable for a resume. Set your status to "available" 24/7 so that buyers can find you anytime. Many buyers like instant gratification and will search for sellers who are available now. Even if you're not available, you might as well set your status to "available" since you'll still capture leads; just mute the app on your smartphone if it's noisy at night. Lucky you, many people before me took time to look into your gig. Edited November 13, 2022 by strategist_ceo
s_akram
I think day by day Fiver is getting tough for new sellers and trendy for the experience sellers. And some sellers are often rejected due to many other issues like payment gateways preference in some nations and last but not the least internet speed.

I wanted to help her out. 😄 i hope she makes the necessary changes and gets orders soon. 12 1

I changed tags, redid my cover of my gig, I didn't have time to make multiple gigs. The availability I am not sure how to do, I went to Profile, to set availability and it shows just activate or deactivate?

Don't forget to talk to the buyer in your bio and gig descriptions (less "I" statements and more "you" statements). The buyer should not only know your skills but how those skills can help them.
zeus777
I think your description looks better, but I'll ask one of the talented designers here ( or outside if you know anybody) to create your thumbnail image. I believe you are more than qualified and you know what you're doing, but your gig image doesn't seem to be at the same level. It might be worth hiring a good graphic designer 🙂
