  1. Looking at my profile I realised that I hadn't updated my skills section since I started selling on fiverr and I only had 2 skills (the standard 'customer service' and 'business consulting'. Obviously I appreciate the visual benefits to buyers of having more/relevant skills listed, but I was wondering if anyone had any opinions or thoughts on whether this impacted your profile visibility in search, or anything else? (I appreciate there probably isn't a concrete answer to this!)
  2. You’re free to disagree with me! Like I say, run your business how you want to. I’m just giving you my perspective as a buyer on what satisfies me. Simple gigs don’t need messaging beforehand. Complex gigs do. If I want to message a seller I will. If it’s a complex gig then I probably don’t need to be reminded to message. If it’s a simple gig then I wonder why.
  3. Made me actually lol. I'll never understand some people! I have a repeat buyer that will always call me 'sir'. I've told him he's the client, if anyone should call anyone 'sir' it should be me to him and he just laughs.
  4. But I think that's because it's necessary to deliver a successful outcome in your case. So it's justifiable and makes sense. I think I should have worded my initial post more carefully - that I was referring to relatively simple/straightforward gigs like the example for background removal. In those instances I just think 'why... what do we have to talk about before'.
  5. Love Indian food and Ramen! I'm a big foodie, so definitely eat out a few times if I can, but I tend to do that during the week too, I don't really cook often. I also enjoy doing... nothing! Sometimes just reading the news, a book or watching some mindless youtube can be a real pleasure. Today though, I need to do my taxes. AHHHH. Today is the deadline and I've just ignored it until now. I'm an idiot.
  6. Well played. Listen up sister 😉... @miiila is not your bro and was making a joke. I may be wrong but I don't think @miiila identifies as anyone's bro. It's generally a good idea not to refer to anyone here as 'bro'. Similarly, don't use 'sister', 'little lady', 'daddy', 'big kahuna' or 'chief' for example. Just use their username @shaminur2020. It's the respectful and professional way to refer to someone.
  7. Sounds like maybe a 'chargeback' to me. The buyer may have disputed the transaction. Luckily, you have protection. Read this: https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360010978618 And contact CS.
  8. I saw something posted a couple of days ago on the forum (I can't find it now) saying that wordpress websites should now start at $80. If you don't increase your basic package price to $80 you will be less visible in search. I would see this as a positive - you can earn more money!!
  9. I understand that, but the buyer wrote 'I will remove any background from any image' so I felt confident he could do the work. I don't follow, what do you mean? I started at $5 18 months ago and it was definitely an... experience!
  10. Absolutely fine. I even have repeat buyers that always ask 'can I make another purchase?'. I'm like 'Sure!'
  11. Agree. I don't think he meant that your reply was intensely painful. The rest of his post was humble and appreciative.
  12. Agree, unless it's a complex gig which requires discussion, although I suppose you could argue that if it is too complex then it would make sense to break it down into multiple gigs and be highly niched. I would also suggest to other sellers that it does put buyers off because they are on fiverr because of the on demand nature, and putting a request to message first is a barrier to a sale. Less than half my buyers message first and I love it.
  13. Haha ain't that the truth! Re this topic, each to their own as the saying goes! Everyone is free to run their fiverr business how they see fit. If the gig offering / job is complex, like web design or a business plan for example then I fully understand the need to message first. I would want to do this as a buyer as I want to be sure the seller can deliver successfully. Complex gigs require discussion and I don't want to waste time. But I do stand by my view (maybe I'm wrong!) that fiverr was not primarily designed to be a 'discuss before purchase platform'. That's how u-p-w-o-r-k and t-o-p-t-a-l work and is something that makes fiverr very different. I don't want to spend the time discussing what I want, I want to find a description that matches what I want and that's why I like fiverr. I do however always read the gig descriptions fully! It's kind of like the tipping debate, I understand how some can find this slightly icky, but this is 'fiverrs house' and this is how fiverr (mostly) wants it to work. I don't mind waking up to new messages, but I love waking up to new orders far more!
  14. Fiverr has a 'cash advance feature' where you can get up to $5K. It's not offered to everyone though. To repay it they take 40% from your future sales. You can find more info here: https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360017972518-Cash-Advance An example: Item $US Order amount 10.00 Standard Fiverr commission -2.00 Net income 8.00 Cash Advance payment (40% of the pre-tax value on $8.00) -3.20 Amount available for withdrawal 4.80
  15. Thought I was seeing things, thanks for confirming I'm not!
  16. The idea of 'rank' is a bit of a myth, but in answer to your question, yes, I went from the front page, to not front page after cutting back on Fiverr, then when I came back to Fiverr I got back to the front page.
  17. Was just about to post saying my delivery hadn't auto completed after 72 hours, i refreshed multiple times, I was looking at the order and wondering if I could tell the time, then just under 73 hours it did. Just find it a little unusual! Almost like me refreshing the order a few times reminded it to auto complete. Has anyone else experienced this? You can see from the bottom screen shot that 72 hours had elapsed but the order was still in review. Then it suddenly auto completed (top screen shot)
  18. Sometimes the review process can be wrong. I did a BR for someone to create a business card design and mine got rejected on the same grounds- that I was using it to promote my own gigs (business consultancy). I'd contact CS and explain (I did and my next BR was allowed). I'm not sure if the review process is that reliable/human/in depth.
  19. Lol, while not wanting to take pleasure in someones relationship breakdown that letter translation would have been one hell of a gig delivery image to have in your portfolio @zeus777!
  20. Knowing how to value your work can be tricky, and at the start of your fiverr journey it's sensible to have very low prices in my opinion, but once you put them up you get better buyers.
  21. Generally speaking, low cost doesn't mean appreciative/kind buyers, but can mean bad/unprofessional buyers. After I put my prices up I got far more professional buyers.
  22. You're a hero Frank! Yep, I'm still not showing for LinkedIn profile, even with filters, so guessing it takes some time. One interesting thing I did notice, is that depending on filters and search terms my gig is sometimes fiverr choice and sometimes it's not. I had assumed that it was either choice or it wasn't, but I guess it's choice for some searches and not for others.
  23. 100%! I've made the changes now, tags are super relevant I think. Here's hoping!
