  1. I understand that. But I already have gigs that cover specific niches, why not allow a general one too? Well, guess I need to create more niche-specific gigs I guess.
  2. 11063×764 115 KBAnnnd, yet another thing that might mess up rankings and access to the right gigs. I see it’s only for Articles and Blog posts, but they are showing tags/writing genres. Is it just me, or people will think a writer can only cover those topics and that’s it? This was already a filter, not sure adding it will make things better. It will just lead to less sales for most people, if everyone thinks like me and they believe those are the only topics covered by the writer. Not sure if/when this will appear for other categories.
  3. Just like Frank said above, don’t take anything you see here for granted. These are all our personal observations. What works for me might not work for you and the other way around.
  4. I don’t know if relevant but I’ve been getting lower impressions and clicks but MORE orders from new customers and the messages I do receive from potential buyers are mostly relevant to my gigs more so than before. The same thing is happening to me as well. They are targeting sellers based on their keywords and performance. I noticed every time I deliver multiple orders, I receive new inquiries/orders. If I am away and don’t really deliver any order during the day, then I barely receive any message or order. So performance does matter, just like reviews and other factors.
  5. As Frank said in his initial post, there’s no more ranking. You’re up or down in search based on your performance. I do have around 15-20 of those inactive orders, and they don’t matter. What you need to realize is that things changed. It’s not 2014 anymore, Fiverr studies everything, from reviews to response time, cancellations, secret reviews, all of these matter. Plus, you are in a VERY VERY VERY competitive niche, with hundreds of thousands of people. Fiverr tries to be fair with everyone, and that means they will allow others to show your skills. The same thing happens for me in the writing section. There are people with way less reviews or experience that are on the first page, while I am on page 9 for example.
  6. Thank you for clearing things up Frank. I don’t really buy here on Fiverr, so I was confused why some people ask for a revision without needing anything revised. This explains a lot to me.
  7. I agree with the things Frank said. There are people, like me for example, that work mostly on Fiverr. I am here around 12-15 hours a day, so obviously it can be hard to get traction against people that are doing this full time. That being said, you will eventually receive exposure and orders, it all comes down to being resilient. Switching to Fiverr full time now, during the pandemic, can be hard since the number of users is doubled, tripled or even quadroupled in some categories. Yet it can still work as a side business. But you can’t expect growth and exposure similar to what Fiverr veterans have. I do wish you all the best with your side business here.
  8. No they don’t. Your price differentiates the clientele you get access to. People that want a very complex project don’t choose $5 sellers for that. And if you set a huge price, then someone with a budget of $10, $20 won’t contact you. As far as I am aware, it’s more common sense than any algorithm. No one is living in any bubble… Some people like @frank_d just have a lot of experience in their field and they can charge more. They also have the portfolio to back it up. There was an user recently that had 0 reviews and he was here for less than a month, and without any portfolio he was asking $100+ for his gigs. Social proofing is what matters here.
  9. You were lucky most likely. As far as I saw, you get people with all budgets if you have an accomplished portfolio and lots of reviews. Despite the fact that I have a low price point, I was still promoted to people that have a high budget and which didn’t mind spending upwards of $100 for an article.
  10. I’m the same. Even if I’m working on something I check the order on my phone and then go back to work. It solves a lot of issues like missing instructions etc. I wish more people would actually take a second and understand how important this is. This is something I’ve been doing since the beginning. I always want to assure customers that I received the order. I was overbooked a few times and was unable to send that type of message, and a few customers started asking questions, if I got the order or not. It also leads to a friendlier experience, since the customer understands he’s not treated like an username, instead he is talking with an actual human being that cares about their inquiry/order. So I agree with everyone, sharing this type of message is very helpful. My customers always appreciate it.
  11. Fiverr tracks these things for 60 days. So most likely things will improve. I was removed from search due to dealing with surgery and canceling a lot of orders. That was in October/early November and it took until January 10th or 15th for me to get back in search. I also had a few negative reviews aside from cancellations, from people that rushed me to deliver, despite not having the health to do so. Obviously no one knows how this works, but I would suggest you try to optimize your gigs and wait, if you have current orders, deliver them with great reviews, and eventually the negative review will be removed. I agree, negative reviews have an impact, if you receive a 3.3 or 2.7 star review it’s fine, but once you get under that, It does mess up with ranking. At least that was the case for me. I have a gig where I barely get reviews, a scammer tried to get his money back saying that he will pay me half after cancellation. I didn’t cancel, I received a 1-star review from him and it’s been a month without orders on that gig.
  12. I really think this is true! I wish this was true. I’ve been facing a “dry moment” here on Fiverr after receiving a 2.7 review from a very demanding and difficult buyer in February. After that experience I got few orders I successfully completed and yet my stats got even worse. As far as I can see, every situation is different. What you said about the SSM suggesting you different keywords, because I am a writer, I have keywords like article and blog in my gig title and as keyword tags, yet I am ranked among the first if you search for that keyword. Regarding the review thing… it matters how many orders you process. If you have 200 orders per month and you have 1-2 bad reviews, those don’t really matter that much. But if you just have 20-30 orders a month, then the review does matter a lot more. That’s why I believe the amount of orders you process every month is crucial. At least that’s what I see in my case. If you process lots of orders, whenever you cancel it doesn’t matter that much, although it takes half a day or so to receive a new order. That is, if you already delivered other stuff you had in queue. I do agree that having orders in revision mode and stuff like that is bad, and it will have a negative impact, I saw that.
  13. I agree, the platform will grow, and the changes they are making clearly show there’s a great future for it. I agree 100%.
  14. Would you say it’s a good idea to become a shareholder? I saw their shares skyrocketed last year. I assume you were a shareholder beforehand, or you got into this in 2020/2021? I was thinking about this as an avenue to invest, but I am not really good with stocks myself.
  15. Yet we will still see a lot of topics related to how people can rank fast and get more sales… Obviously
  16. @donnovan86 thank you for sharing. That actually does not disprove the existence of that marker. Like I said my observations may be wrong. I may be wrong about how important that is, or I may have stumbled upon only a fraction of the equation. If you regularly deliver within the “last 12 hours”, and you are doing just fine, then that means that this metric’s weight is not as important, or that other things are also factored in, like the average duration of your orders, how many orders you have at one time, how many out of those are under revision, and so on. It’s definitely a lot more complicated than my initial post may have implied. I just wanted to hint at the existence of those metrics, I have no way of knowing the exact formula or how they tie in with everything else. I follow my own advice and I do get orders. But this post wasn’t made to be used as a “guide” to “get orders”. I agree I deliver in 2 days, or with some extras, in 1 day. Obviously the 12-hour thing is 50% or 25% of the entire deadline. Now this scares me, since even these tiny things matter. I assumed they do… But seeing them on black and white. You know… it makes them real 🙂
  17. Great post Frank, insightful and helpful for a lot of people. Regarding what I quoted… due to the nature of my work and the fact that unlike most writers here I actually don’t outsource, I deliver only within the “12 hours left” window. I don’t have any trouble ranking because of that. I noticed reviews, cancellations and late orders have a huge impact. At least in my case.
  18. If you’re hired by a business in any country, you get paid either once every 14 days or once a month. I don’t see the problem with Fiverr. If you have a steady stream of orders, you barely notice the difference. If you want the 7-day clearance, then work towards becoming a top rated seller. Really Fiverr gave a good option and free of mind to work without any time bound (with split of work) for seller. Thanks
  19. Hopefully the next update will allow us to lock packages and not have people order 20x the package without the seller’s consent. It’s the primary reason for my cancellations, and now Fiverr’s team should know it since I talked about this multiple times.
  20. Your buyer did a chargeback via PayPal most likely. When that happens, their account is removed by Fiverr automatically. That also means your funds are gone. It happened to many a lot of times. But… there’s nothing you can really do. Sometimes Fiverr can compensate, other times they can’t…
  21. Is that question for me? Aren’t they the words listed under skills on the seller’s profile? Sorry Vickie I quoted him from your message. And yes, that’s what I wanted to point out. The keywords are at the bottom of the page on the seller profile and also at the bottom of the gig page.
  22. You do realize you have access to the competitor keywords, right? Also, why would you copy others? Try to think of keywords that people actually want to find. Copying others is the worst thing you can do, since you’re competing with others that get more traffic from the same keywords anyway.
  23. I believe he talks about the Level 2 benefits Benefits20 Active Gigs5 Gig Extras ($5, $10, $20, $40, $50)15 Gig MultiplesSend Custom Offers, up to $10,000Priority Customer SupportEligibility to be featured at promotional listings *** Eligibility for Customer Success program**Earning clearance: 14 daysThat program is now the Fiverr Seller Plus and it’s a paid, invite-only program, just like @vickiespencer said above.
  24. Yes, the order will complete automatically. However that also means the buyer can give you a bad review. He can continue asking for a dispute however, even if you decline every time
  25. My meeting is next week, it was supposed to be this week but… I ran into some issues myself so I postponed. The question is, would you pay for a new meeting monthly? Or was it just a good one-time-thing for you? I am curious. As this is a subscription.
