How Do You Handle Buyers Who Don't........
newsmike replied to tlvoiceover's question in Starter Questions
Should I have charged commercial rights for the eulogy I recorded for a child's funeral? You admit that you don't know anything about the sublect, and then offer a silly opinion anyway. Stick to things you do understand, that keeps you from appearing foolish. -

You need to not be afraid to charge fair prices for what you offer. You will be taken advantage of otherwise. -
But they have only a few, and many many more positive reviews, or they would lose their TRS, right?

If a "rated" ( I think you mean experienced) seller was exxagerating his skills, he would have a lot of bad reviews, so it would be obvious, right? With a new seller no way to tell.

That's when you raise prices instead of limiting orders. 💲

Good. So follow the advice from all the experienced sellers here, and ignore the hundreds of people who offer advice, despite having no sales, no clue, and no skills. Make your gigs great, and be good to your buyers. That's it.

Not with the pipleline of parrots coming from a concentrated area right now. They are all reading the same pamphlet, show up, steal from other users, then spam the forum about not getting sales. They all expect to have money appear now that they have finally shown up. The most frustrating part is that they dont even read the advice given in the forum, and just parrot "thank you" all day. I believe many can't even read what is being offered. This is a real problem right now.

Communication is important. Why hire someone who cannot communicate professionally, when you can hire someone who can do the job and is educated as well. This is not a charity designed to help illiterates prosper. It is a competitive business platform.

I think that may be true for some, absolutely. But you cannot speak for the entire crop of new sellers. Many of them may try, but are clearly exaggerating their skill set, cannot communicate properly and break TOS.

I have had a couple that were in fact wanting to retain the same voice for a series of videos in a campaign. Often an ad campaign uses the same talent for recognizability. Look at Flo hawking Progressive insurance for 15 years now. But I certainly get your point. 😀 Also a thing.

Yeah, we get it. But @theratypist's point is that most will be lying about being experts just to get sales.

That is outstsnding. I'm glad to see that you like to use other fiverr sellers for fun stuff. A few years ago we were discussing in the forum how to get people to pay attention to the terms of our gigs, like when people ask for revisions that are not included, etc... There was a seller at the time on fiverr named Miss Dixie, who was a drag queen making custom videos. Whenever I confirmed an order, I would send the usual big block of text outlining the terms of the gig, and it had a link that said. "If you don't care to read through all the gig's terms, click here to have it all explained by a friendly drag queen." 1589867117_MisssDixie-NewsMike.mp4

For microphones I use the Shure SM7b and the Neumann TLM-103, Adobe Audition, and the Universal Audio Apollo Twin MK II for interface and processing. https://www.uaudio.com/audio-interfaces/apollo-twin-mkii.html
