Arrogant and rude seller

Hello Community. I wanted to share a terrible experience I just had. This is my fisrt time as buyer in this platform and this happened to me. I will include the WHOLE chat so you can see what happened. Long story short: I contact a seller and explain myself that I needed a musical arrangement of some music, I send a youtube video as example and this guy immediately accuses me of trying to steal the youtube vidoe arrangement. Not happy, he admited that he thinks that all those who do not write music are money hacks and adopted this superiority stance.

I sure did not explain myself a 100% from the get go but I did over time, this guy just did not care and keep insulting,

I just wanted to know what can be done about such people in this comunnity. Thanks for reading. There is the chat below.

It is for a monetized youtube video. I could buy the MIDI from this author but i dont think I would be able to monetize it anyway. I am interested mostly in the first, second and fourth russian songs of this compilation

What are you talking about? You won't be able to monetize it either way.

They own the arrangement. They officially sell their arrangements online, and part o the money goes to the composer.

If the song is old, then they own the arrangement 100% since the original is in public domain

Sorry for the unfortunate experience with a potential first seller you could have worked with, at least you dodged a bullet. However, it's in the community forum rules that you aren't allowed to publicly call a user out in the forum. You can definitely share a conversation and any grievances here, but without the name mentioned. You can also directly talk to Customer Support (support@fiverr.com) if you need their assistance.

That guy is crazy, god damn. I've had people contact me asking to actually steal things all the time ("can you remove this watermark from a video..."). You just say no and move on. You do not engage like that. He's playing with fire there.

You should have blocked him and looked elsewhere right at this point.  You were hiring him for a musical service, not legal advice. When someone sends me a music bed for a production, I assume they have properly licensed the piece. If not, they will get nailed when they use it. There are a few sellers out there who think they are the legal guardians of the universe.

This guy has no idea whether you have licensed anything. When people act this way, block and move on.
