Regarding voice-over work… Has anyone been in a situation where a client wants you to send an audition of their actual script, then they use your free audition for their project and don’t’ pay anything? It seems an easy thing for a dishonest client to do.

Other sites advise VOs in this situations to record the script as an audition and then cut off or fade out the last word before submitting so that it can’t be used.

Please don’t take it personally.

Buyers often ask questions, get quotes etc. and don’t come back to you. I never get back to them after their initial inquiry as I feel the ball’s in their court whether they want to order or not, after they’ve had the info they asked for.

You may have been one of several the buyer approached - she found somebody else that’s all!

Don’t dwell on it! 🙂

You already reported it. They will respond eventually or if not it’s possible they don’t think your complaint has merit.

I can only imagine how many complaints Fiverr gets a day about… everything and anything. Imagine filtering through that. Worst job ever. Like an email call centre.

Just like this post says, some buyers are dishonest.

I no longer treat Fiverr as a place where I can come in to make some quick cash. I understand the platform so well now and I treat every buyer with so much respect even when they’re not deserving of it.

I really don’t care whether they think my complaint has merit or how many complaints they get per day. No other business can behave like this. For the record I disputed the item via Paypal which is apparently a violation of this site. Sellers scamming ppl is not a violation. But I am glad I did it because all of a sudden I was getting lots of attention from the Fivver Customer Support who reviewed the sellers message and decided she was trying to prevent me from providing feedback. Don’t care about feedback I received my refund. Once my current order is completed I will be naming and shaming the sellers then happy to be banned if that is how Fivver operates that buyer beware!!!

Haha! I know that buyer. She was somehow rude to me as well. She asked me for the price. I gave her mine then asked what her budget was. She replied with, ‘‘Hi. I asked for your best offer and you issued it. I thank you for that. I have 23 others willing for the budget I put on the request form. Thanks’’ I found that response unnecessary. Mind you the budget on the request form was so low, I thought it was a joke.

why do they provide a price then ask me my budget???

It’s easy because there are plenty of desperate sellers willing to take the risk. Sometimes it ends with a successful order, but quite often it doesn’t. There are plenty of posts here where a seller got scammed and even more replies saying not to do it.

How does a a seller get scammed. I can’t even get a response from mine once I have paid. Forget the res centre no response there either. Looks like I go back to paypal. Can someone please help me mark order as not delivered or late? ty

Can someone please help me mark order as not delivered

Click on Resolution Center and request a modification. That way the order won’t be marked as completed in 3 days.

You got a reply for how to keep the order from being auto-completed already, maybe this here will help as well:

Of course scamming people is a violation, and if a seller does it, you can always report them to Customer Support even once the order was completed.

Please take a look at Fiverr’s Terms of Service to find all of that written there, here are just a few relevant quotes :

Sellers must fulfill their orders, and may not cancel orders on a regular basis or without cause. Cancelling orders will affect sellers’ reputation and status.

If an order is cancelled (for any reason), the funds paid will be refunded to the buyer’s Shopping Balance.

For security concerns, Fiverr may temporarily disable a seller’s ability to withdraw revenue to prevent fraudulent or illicit activity. This may come as a result of security issues, improper behavior reported by buyers, or associating multiple Fiverr accounts to a single withdrawal provider.

Gigs may be removed by Fiverr for violations to these Terms of Service, which may include (but are not limited to) the following violations and/or materials:

Illegal or Fraudulent services

Copyright Infringement, Trademark Infringement, and violation of a third party’s terms of service reported through our Intellectual Property Claims Policy found here

Adult oriented services, Pornographic, Inappropriate/Obscene

Intentional copies of Gigs

Spam, Nonsense, or Violent Gigs

Gigs misleading to buyers

Reselling of regulated goods

Services that extend beyond 30 days of service duration

Gigs that are removed for violations mentioned above, may result in the suspension of the seller’s account.

Buyers must use Fiverr Resolution Center to address their concerns and desired resolution related to the service provided by their seller prior to contacting Customer Support. Customer Support will not take any action against Orders where the buyers failed to inform their seller of issues related to the seller’s service and will allow sellers to provide a resolution first. This does not include non-permitted usage of Fiverr.
