  1. 'es tut mir leid ich spreche kind Deutsch' is all the further I ever got. 🙂
  2. No no, of course not, it's just I only have experience travelling as an American and I see how we tend to act when abroad. I don't have any first hand knowledge of what it's like to be a traveller from another part of the world. I was really just having a laugh anyhow. 🙂 Stereotypes are generalities, which is what makes them dangerous. I think we all get that. btw - why is it that on some threads it says 'Your content will need to be approved by a moderator' while on others it doesn't?
  3. The first time I visited Berlin, every bartender, waiter, and shop keeper would sort of roll their eyes when they first heard us speak english, and then they warmed considerably once they realized we weren't in fact actually English. Which is weird, as we americans are subject to our own set of stereotypes abroad, that are entirely of our own making, but no one seemed to care about that. 🙂
  4. How many (on average) bodily noises do you find yourself having to remove from a recording? How much time would it save us all, if someone would just invent a 'burp plugin'? Maybe we can pool resources and hire a coder here to get this taken care of. 😉
  5. Ah well, perhaps something changed along the way (or I'm just flat out wrong). Seems odd that they wouldn't give us some sort of way of protecting ourselves there, but then again - it seems very on brand, all the same.
  6. Are we sure about that? Because I'm pretty sure I've had the option to report and block anyone who has ever messaged me via inbox... (I can't verify right now), but if that person has a prior order with me, it'll be in their order history. Just throwing that out there.
  7. I'm pretty sure that once there is an order history in place then there is always a 'back door' of a sort, by which buyers can still place orders with you by accessing your page via their order history. Blocking would seem to only operate properly if you've never previously worked with the person you're looking to block.
  8. Hey Yoav, yep - it's back, thanks. While I have you - why is it that every custom gig extra I've ever created shows up as available to add, when writing up a custom order quote? They don't exist anymore on the actual gig page, but they're all right there when I fire up the infernal custom offer pop up window.
  9. Yeah, I got essentially the same reply from my SM. I have to think it's some accidental (or not) scorched earth policy related to the shutterstock thing. Just seems weird that they'd do that and not tell me(?)... although now that I type that, it seems perfectly on brand for Fiverr. 🙂
  10. Might be a glitch, might be related to their attempt to integrate with stock media sites, but I noticed today that I can no longer add background music as an option to a custom order quote (nor is it available to buyers at my page). Anyone else in VO seeing this?
  11. This is sort of illustrative of a larger problem though, which is that Fiverr apparently has no system in place to deal with billing issues without making it the sellers problem as well, and that's kind of silly. I had a client last week who wanted to change their billing method (swap out credit cards, basically), and Fiverr's solution was to contact me directly and ask if I would agree to cancel the order so that the buyer could place the same order again but with a different card. That... shouldn't be how that works, but for some reason, it is.
  12. IDK, but if you ever figure it out, create a gig for it and you'll make like, a million dollars in your first year.
  13. Which is great, because it's pretty much impossible to have a sub 1hr response time when you get messages in the stone cold middle of the night as often as I seem to anymore. The percentage has definitely increased over the last year or so.
  14. Fiverr does themselves no favors by letting any 13yr old with an internet connection sign up and say they're qualified. They could very easily fix their reputation and the perception of the site as being a minefield of amateurs by just, you know - not doing that. Thing is, they're not really in the 'freelance' business, so much as the 'get people to click BUY as quickly as humanly possible' business. That, combined with the fact that they're a publicly traded company now, means growth is probably more important than anything else. They could wake up tomorrow and decide they want to be Etsy and not a whole heck of a lot would need to change on their end... ... except I think Etsy actually does vet sellers, so maybe it would be a pretty dramatic difference. I'm sure we've all had the occasional (or frequent) buyer who is clearly jumping through hoops to not let their client know they hired us on Fiverr, and if that doesn't speak volumes, well...
  15. Is anyone else getting constant phantom notifications on the mobile app, due to Briefs? Every time I get an unrelated notification somewhere else, I also get a couple over at the bell icon, in relation to whatever briefs I had received lately. Currently, the last brief I received was about a week ago, and I'm still getting phantom notifications for it and the one before it, every time. Tried turning briefs off, tried deleting and reinstalling the app, even tried resetting carrier settings (which can't possibly be the problem) and nothing fixes it.
  16. Ha... I wondered why this popped back up. This is as good a place as any to mention (again) that an 'ignore' feature that actually worked would be real real nice thing to have, here.
  17. For a company that specializes in freelancing they often display a shocking lack of awareness as to how it even works.
  18. This was my experience. It took them nearly six weeks to finally migrate my gig (I kept the exact same gig, as I have only one) after I summited the conversion application. It's a fairly limited team of people in Israel doing all this manually, so I guess that's the deal there.
  19. I've noticed this too. It seems that checking all three boxes only actually hides replies they make within other threads. You still see them in the right hand column if they're the most recent post in a thread, and you still see every topic they start themselves, all of which sort of defeats the purpose of the feature. @mjensen415 Any chance we'll get a version of ignore that covers everything?
  20. Huh, yeah… I don’t have that button. Oh well, from the sound of it, I may not want to use it anyhow. 😉
  21. There is a button to turn on or off for packages in the upper right corner when you are editing your gig, in the description area. Hmm… If you get the chance, I’d love it if you could screen shot that for me. I’m not seeing it anywhere.
  22. Agreed. Very frustrating. The kicker is that some of thing things coded as multiples don’t always even make sense. Why would someone need to order 8 or 9 ‘broadcast rights’ from me, on a single job? I tried explaining this to CS a couple of times, but I think we all know how that went. Interestingly enough, things seemed to have changed somewhat recently. I just created a few new gig extras the other day, and they aren’t showing as multiples, when they would have, a few months ago. I also don’t seem to even have the option for ‘packages’ on my page. Hmm…
