  1. image1100×720 166 KB image988×1000 162 KBOff-topic hattrick? 👀 No, this is a Fiverr freelancer’s meme gig’s packages, last one being the premium one, obviously. (Also, Vickie’s only rule I see is “Funny”) When you get a source text for translation that must have been written by someone who replies to the “I need you to write 100 original articles, 1500 words each. My budget is $5. Need it in the next 12 hours. Don’t apply if you can’t work with my budget. Only native speakers with university diplomas. Write TOP WRITER first so I know you read this” BRs.
  2. Or because the thread has gotten so long that they are too lazy to check whether their funny idea has already been posted. repost500×1406 98.2 KB
  3. This thread has special powers, it dings me all the time even without a direct reply or tagging, but better this thread than any other. free cat1000×1000 218 KB
  4. This meme can cover even 2 use cases: Typical seller reaction to “advertise your gig” advice from support or forumSome Writing&Translation category sellers’ reaction, when buyer wants them to uglify their work for the sake of SEO notaprspecialist700×530 196 KB
  5. There is no Baby Yoda meme here, that needs to change, let’s see … 12-year old Fiverr seller, trying to pass ID verification with grandpa’s ID underage700×699 79.1 KB
  6. Bonus points for a ToS gifmeme that’s almost as long as the ToS. Spammy seller who wants to sell something to a buyer who happens to be a seller and thus is contactable … or made the mistake of posting a buyer request while being a contactable seller … youdontknowme1200×628 43.7 KBVickie has a talent for threads that leave people all heartless.
  7. Footie gif! That reminds me of … seller trying to hide in a small niche, but The Algorithm™ will find him anyway for the gig rotation.
  8. Not sure why the meme maker chose Ron Weasley but I guess the facial expression works.
  9. Sharingan activating after Sasukee_Fiverr just politely and at length, and commendably, without using physical nor verbal violence, explained to buyer #555 that and why he can’t share his email, and the buyer then asks for his skypee. But … better one that’s more on-topic, before I’ll go down an anime usagi hole and translate:
  10. The only analytics I like to check out. Mine looks rather similar, and I’m also hoping for an order from Greenland - and Iceland! I seem pretty much stuck around this value, alas. 281918×951 132 KB … If an order is cancelled, and it was the only buyer from that country, does the country turn into terra incognita again then …? Does anyone know for sure?
  11. Trees are the best to lift my spirits. If there’s enough time, a forest, if not, the close park will do. And squirrel watching, or squirrels observing me observing them, makes me always smile, if I want to or not. Eichhörnchen1411×1759 892 KB
  12. I think the lynchpin is mostly whether support considers the cancellation reason as valid enough for it to not count for your stats. If it must have been clear to the buyer from your gig description that you don’t provide what the customer ordered, there’s a chance that they’ll cancel it without your stats taking a hit. The standard reply is something like this (the reply from CS to a cancellation request, where the buyer had ordered a translation gig for a language my gig clearly doesn’t offer): "Of course, I will be happy to assist you with this. The order has been canceled as per your request. Please keep in mind that cancellation statistics are handled automatically and the system will update the cancellation based on our criteria. We recommend that you check your analytics section to confirm. " “Based on our criteria” = Since we don’t know the exact criteria (the cancellation reason most probably being the main criterion), we can’t know in advance whether it will count against our stats or not. (In my case, I kept an eye on my stats, as they recommended, and my stats didn’t change). I can’t tell you more than that - whether your stats will take a hit or not, depends on their criteria.
  13. As far as I know, the only chance to not have a cancellation affect your rating is support (and even then, it’s not guaranteed; it probably depends mostly on the cancellation reason). If they don’t reply timely, you could ask your buyer if they are willing to wait a few more days because support currently is slow with responses due to Covid. What is the reason for the cancellation?
  14. You submitted a request to cancel the order only to Fiverr support? If you’re lucky, they’ll reply before your gig’s deadline, but going by many recent forum posts, it can take up to 10 days currently for them to respond, unless you have priority support as one of the leveling perks (level 2, TRS). If you submitted the cancellation request to your buyer via the resolution center, one of 3 things can happen: buyer accepts your cancellation request, order gets cancelled and buyer gets refundedbuyer rejects your cancellation request, order stays activebuyer doesn’t react within 48 hours, the order will automatically cancel and the buyer will get refunded
  15. Hardly. I think it’s a safe bet that Fiverr aren’t doing that because they have too much free time on their hands or love managing forms or want to prioritize US sellers, but to comply with applicable laws, as also stated in the opening post. When Fiverr is required under applicable laws, it will send a 1099 form at the end of the year to the applicable tax authorities. If it becomes applicable law that Fiverr needs to collect and send such forms for/to other countries too, they will certainly do so. However, in any case, US taxpayer or not, all sellers are required to report their income and pay any taxes they are due (if they are above their country’s threshold and taxes apply), as stated in the ToS (and, of course, in their own country’s laws, regulations, etc.).
  16. I got a notification and mail telling me to do this within 30 days to keep my gigs active, clicked it, got asked whether I am “a US person”, no, I’m a cat and dog person 😉 so I clicked “No”, done. (For now, I guess they may require equivalent forms be filled out in future if other countries’ tax authorities insist.)
  17. Thanks for sharing! I don’t have the option, so such experience posts are really interesting. Did you or do you think you got orders out of it? What I’m wondering is, if, as I’ve read, you can only use ads with already popular gigs, wouldn’t actually interested buyers keep clicking your gig anyway, promoted or not, and would you perhaps rather pay for curious or malicious sellers clicking them? If someone could clearly say they got orders from advertising, that would be good to know. I’m assuming you might be able to see it, like you can also see when you got an order from a gig while it was ‘Fiverr’s Choice’. And do you get a bill from Fiverr for the ads, so that you would be able to file the cost as expenses for income tax?
  18. Yes, while I guess Cat is right and it’s a win-win for Fiverr if sellers pay for additional promotion of their anyway best selling gig (or to avoid their gig losing outcon sales because promoted gigs are more visible), that’s where the feature might actually come in handy from seller side, to launch a new gig, plus, it would be easier to know if the investment pays off vs promoting a gig that often gets orders anyway. I’d feel more tempted to try the feature on a new gig. I don’t yet have the option, though, in any case.
  19. Write it in a “the glass is half full” way: In compliance with Fiverr’s ToS, any communication has to be within Fiverr’s platform. Like that, your message shouldn’t be flagged, so it saves time for you and the potential buyer, and it sounds less antagonistic than “not allowed to…”, “strictly forbidden”, and similar, with a better chance of the potential buyer feeling less lectured and they might just say they didn’t know that, thanks, and order. For whether to work with a buyer who doesn’t know the rules or pretends to not know them, use your best judgement. With some, you know right away that they are aware but want to take it off-Fiverr, while some really weren’t aware and can become good customers. I use a case-by-case approach, which usually works well.
  20. Write a direct mail? If you don’t have another mail, then create one.
  21. Contact Fiverr support: https://www.fiverr.com/support_tickets/new?source=help_center Choose “Terms of Service Violation”. You can also try support @ fiverr. com Unfortunately, currently, support seems to have long response times, so if you try by email, make sure to put “my Fiverr account got hacked” or something in the mail header which hopefully might catch someone’s eye.
  22. The 2.5% is their exchange fee which is built into the exchange rate, it tells you that, and the current exchange rate every time you withdraw US$ to € to your bank account, the exchange rate is something around 1 USD = 0.8165 EUR (my last withdrawal), below where you see “You will get xxx €”, before you send the money to your bank account. I think on their page, you’ll just find the fees but not the rate, as that changes all the time. But you’ll be shown the current rate and the € you’ll receive before you finalize the withdrawal, so you can still row back and wait some days or however long if you think the rate might get better before you’ll have to withdraw. (The fee, I think, depends on the country and some other things, at least I saw different fees when I checked the page or ToS, or wherever it’s listed the last time, so it might not be 2.5% for everyone.)
  23. The whole setup system, including extras, could need an overhaul, with the input of people who (try to) actively use it. There is also the related issue that if you want to offer some extra, the price for that extra will be billed only once and not according to how many multiples a buyer chooses, which also makes no sense. Say you offer writing an article of 1000 words and proofreading as an extra for $X, then if someone orders 2000 words and the proofreading extra, they’ll only pay the proofreading for 1000 words but you need to do it for 2000 words. No logic behind that. Sellers are held back from offering more/faster/better if they have too little control over these things for no apparent reason and need to constantly think “oh I can only offer a small number of words in this gig, because what if someone orders more than I can do in x time” and so on. Well, this forum category is for suggesting such ideas and supposedly is monitored. If you send ideas to support, they say “We’ve forwarded it to the relevant team” (which probably is the same team that monitors this category). It also makes more sense to have this forum category for that, so they won’t constantly get loads of suggestions for the same thing by lots of different people but can look through the suggestions and take on board what is feasible and disregard what is not. It would be great, if the people who monitor this category could briefly comment on suggestions (at least on the ones that aren’t outrageous and make a lot of sense) and say “sorry, won’t/can’t happen (because)”, or “yeah, (on top of) our list, as soon as we can”, or something. Until then, I guess I’ll keep suggesting this… Until then, I guess I’ll keep suggesting this…
  24. Yes, that’s the issue, the time not increasing, maybe it’s not called multiples anymore - although for the order I got, it said “3” for “quantity”, so it still counts it as multiples. I might be able to do 2x1500 words, or not, depending, but there might be no humanly possible way I could do, for example, 5x the amount. It simply doesn’t make sense that people can choose as many gig multiples/words as they like. ETA: Turning off extras and such as a remedy (apart from that it shouldn’t be the “solution”) is a bit of an issue too, as there seem to be bugs all the time, currently, while I have only 2 extras active for a certain gig, apparently all extras I ever had for that (and edited/turned off) gig appear when I check … I had a ticket about some other extras issues but it wasn’t solved, I’ve even completely paused a gig because of that.
