How can i cancel an order as a seller? when buyer refused to cancel

aamish_sohail

Question

Hi everyone.
I am seeking advice on a situation I am currently facing with a buyer. The buyer sent me requirements for a project, and I quoted them a timeline of two weeks and a cost. However, once I began working on the project, the buyer started requesting more and extra work beyond what was originally agreed upon.

It has now been over six months, and I am still continuously working on the project. Whenever I try to deliver the work, the buyer quickly requests revisions, which has impacted my account negatively, and all my gigs have moved to the last pages.

I have contacted customer support and explained the situation, but they informed me that the only way an order can be completed is if the buyer accepts my delivery, and they cannot approve the order from their end. I have also contacted both the buyer and CS to request partial payment for the work I have completed, but the buyer refused, and CS cannot do anything unless the buyer agrees.

When I couldn't get any relief from the buyer and CS

Then I even offered to cancel the order and ask the buyer to keep all the work I have done in the past six months and also keep all the payment as well, but the buyer did not accept the cancellation request. I have also contacted CS to cancel the order, but they need the buyer's approval to do so.

Also if any buyer asks CS to cancel the order they will immediately cancel the order without asking anything from the seller. No matter if they are wrong or right. But when as a seller I am asking them to cancel they they have to ask the buyer if he is ok or not.

Now, I am in a difficult situation where:

  • 2 weeks of work converted into 6 months
  • no payment even after working for 6 months
  • Can't cancel the order
  • Can't deliver the order
  • No help from CS
  • Damaged my business because all my gigs moved to the last pages
  • The buyer just wants me to continue working on the project forever without paying anything.

Please need advice from senior sellers on what I should do about this situaiton.

Sorry to tell you but, It's your fault!
When your client asked you to do more work you had to reply: it was not in the gig agreement.

My advice is to deliver the order with what the customer had ordered on original project, at that point your client will have to accept or ask for a revision, if he will ask revision you will not accept, at that point your client has two choices, accept the delivery or request cancellation of the order, if he will accept the deliver you have 50% chance he will left you negative review... if he will cancel the order that will going to your performance but you can contact Fiverr CS explaining what customer did to you, and you can ask to remove that "cancel" from your performance.
