I mean, marketing is marketing and there is no one specific “actual way”. 
People choose the strategy for marketing that works for them and build their presence based on that. 
 

But just case: sharing your gigs on social media is not marketing.

I personally recommend you for Linkedin marketing. Because I get some buyer from linkedin. Also you can try Twitter and Instagram.

As there she mention that every one has their own marketing strategy. That's right. I agree with that.
But The most conventional and effective way of marketing strategy is to teach your clients.

Suppose you are a WordPress developer. You can publish post and articles on how to fix the most notified WordPress issues errors. or how to choose best hosting or domain etc.

you can publish it to the social media Like Instagram, Linkedin, Quora, Facebook focusing on your dream buyers. When they come to you to ask questions then try to provide the best answer you can. After that ask them if they want to buy your services on Fiverr.

If you can convince them to buy your service then you can grow on Fiverr also on social media.
