  1. 1) Don't mess with Andy 🤣 2) You don't need to have the last word with a client to maintain a good response time. 3) Delivering a bit early is good, very early is not. 4) Free has no value - someone came to me a few hours ago wanting to know what the biggest pain points were for me in generating new clients. I said sure, let's discuss it on a call, my basic package is enough. They said they couldn't pay. So I (rightly) said my biggest pain point was buyers asking for a free service. 5) Don't always assume because someones messages are abrupt they aren't good to work with. Some people just aren't great at communicating. 6) Trust your spider sense. If a buyer seems like trouble they probably are. 7) Buyers that say 'because I only need / because it's easy can you do it for X' - If it was easy then you'd probably do it yourself. Advice- avoid these buyers.
  2. I'm not sure if there are 'right' reasons lol. The way I see it you approached it as you should, indeed as you should with any business.... You had a goal of making money, and you thought you'd achieve this by offering services you could deliver. You then launched, tested, iterated and validated. And you haven't stopped doing the last 3 since. That's the right approach. As @katakaticasays, you never were a fake seller, at least in my book because you never claimed a skill set you didn't have. You simply tested, and you were proved right. Great topic @katakatica. Nothing you said was wrong IMO, and this statement resonated hugely with me. In my experience a lot of the people who think they're good enough aren't (and won't ever be because they'll never think they're the problem). The people that question whether they are (so called imposter syndrome) are the ones that succeed. I see this in countless startups and Fiverr sellers in equal measure. I've pulled back from the forum in recent weeks. I was just too busy, and I found it a negative time suck, my inbox here as well as the feed was full of 'help me' from people that didn't even read the advice they had previously been sent. Infuriating.
  3. Don't share it. There's no reason to share it. A (real) buyer doesn't need this.
  4. Yes. You're paying $29 for improved tools / analytics etc. It's your responsiblity to use them effectively (and sell a service buyers want). Similar to promoted gigs, you pay to promote even if you don't make sales.
  5. It can be a problem, it depends on the events and which order they occurred in. So rather than just give you an incorrect answer as many here would do I wanted to avoid that. Anyway, sure, share your link.
  6. Nothing at all. The only extensions I have are Honey and Mailtrack. Weird.
  7. Were you friends on Facebook before they bought your gig? Why do you have their email? Why do you have a previous account? There are a few potential red flags here (it may all be completely innocent though).
  8. Fiverr main site wants me to correct 'Tuesday' to 'Tesday'. I'm pretty sure 'Tesday' isn't a real word... is it? Fiverr forum wants me to correct 'Tesday' in this post to 'Tuesday', Does anyone know where the logic comes from for the blue line? Is it Chrome? Fiverr? Me? Any ideas?
  9. The OPs question was incredibly broad. The article/topic linked above (and the other topics linked therein and by @imagination7413 in the comments) covers 98% of what it takes to be successful on Fiverr. In answer to your more specific question: (New) Sellers can show their previous (non Fiverr) work in their portfolio: https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/4413134063633-Using-My-Portfolio I'm pretty sure this is also covered in the article/topic linked above.
  10. So succinct and so accurate. This should be every freelancers mantra.
  11. The answer to your question is in the thread above. The option will come when Fiverr release it to you.
  12. They gave me a voucher because I provided feedback once on a sandwich product I ate. The voucher has a financial value. It was in return for a service I provided to Starbucks. I am now a product / sandwich specialist at Starbucks. And Starbucks is therefore now a paying client of mine.
  13. Years ago there was an issue with sellers selling Amazon reviews. Amazon wasn't happy with this and sued over a 1000 of them, or tried to. I'm not sure how it ended up but it was a big deal at the time. I know it's different but I think (big) companies wouldn't be happy if they saw that sellers were claiming to have worked there when they hadn't. I also see a lot of sellers listing Fiverr as a company they've worked for on their profile because they have a gig on Fiverr. Similarly, if you check out Glassdoor so many of Fiverrs reviews are from Fiverr sellers (it's meant for Fiverr employees, not freelancers with gigs). This whole thing is a blend of ignorance, stupidity and willful deceit on the part of (some) Fiverr sellers.
  14. Oh jeez this is sooooo open to abuse. I thought Fiverr was actually doing a reference check with the company or finding a profile like LinkedIn at least to check.
  15. @ar_anisuranis why are you copying segments of my post? Followed by some poor advice? Please don't do this. It is considered spam and will earn you a warning / suspension / ban.
  16. I suggest you wait then. Fiverr gives an initial boost to new seller visibility to give you a chance to get orders. You will miss out on part of this and Fiverr is very competitive. Alternatively, increase your delivery time before you go away and still accept new orders and messages from buyers (you probably won't have many, some sellers wait months for their first order). If you really want to launch your gig now, and have to go unavailable / offline I suggest you lower your price or launch new gigs when you come back.
  17. Welcome! There are lots of great resources on the Forum (as well as the help centre) so please do look around, use the search feature and contribute constructively however you can. The link below is a post I put together that covers a lot of common questions, and great links to topics created by other successful sellers. If you're serious about growing on Fiverr I think it's well worth the time investment to read through it. Best of luck with your Fiverr journey and welcome again! @gigzlogo your post was automatically hidden by the system (and I won't approve it) because you gave incorrect advice about staying online 24/7. This is NOT true. Staying online really won't help you (replying quickly to buyers will, but you don't need to stay online to do this, use the app). This rumour / myth is so untrue that Fiverr took the steps to try to automatically block posts that state this. I can see you're a successful seller on Fiverr (congratulations!) but get some time back by not staying online all the time!

  20. Hello, You've only just started on Fiverr (September 2022) so I would suggest waiting to see what happens for a couple of weeks. It can take months to get your first sale. You shouldn't be afraid of updating / improving your gig, but doing it too often can take you out of search results. 24. Welcome! If your impressions are good then your gig title and tags sound good, but perhaps your gig description is putting people off from buying. Take a look at the competition. As for whether your 'gig is too lame', to be honest I've seen a lot of gigs that look lame to me but are successful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say!
