  1. I agree. But none of these are justification to hide the data from the buyers. Even with the problems that may arise, there is no good argument for making sellers with lots of cancellations appear perfect because data is being withheld. The lesser of 2 evils.
  2. Displaying an honest number of the seller's cancellations is unfair? The buyer deserves to know who cancels a lot of orders.
  3. I'm sure that the vast majority of cancels happen because of seller deficiencies as opposed to bad buyers. Think about the traffic on the forum every day. Some days that's all we seems to see.
  4. I understand. Let me ask a question, what percentage of your buyers are such "bad buyers?" I ask because as I think about what we see on an average day in the forum indicates to me that there are astronomically more unskilled scammy sellers with fake credentials than there are bad buyers. Like 90/10%
  5. Absolutely agree. I was thinking about the a scenario where a buyer is deciding between 2 sellers, both offering the same type of logo design and at the same price. Seller A: 100 reviews, all positive except for 2 that ended in cancellation, for whatever reason. 2% failure rate. Seller B: 100 reviews, 100 positive. Except that this seller refunds 10% of orders as cancellations to avoid negative reviews. 10% failure rate. If buyer selects seller B, thinking that he is getting a better seller with no complaints, the buyer has been defrauded by a seller who sanitizes complaints, and a system that allows the seller to do so by concealing vital information. Buyer B is 5 times more likely to disappoint. When you come down to this, there is no ethical argument in favor of concealing such data from buyers.
  6. That is the false "sanitizing of reviews" that this is designed to eliminate. People giving refunds to avoid the bad review, which leads to fraudulent representations of perfect sellers with 0 complaints because they buy off buyers with refunds. This is a positive move for honest reviews.
  7. You are correct that long before we discuss how to implement fairness, we must all first agree on what that means, or the rest is pointless. Of course, this is impossible. The most fair application of speech is that anyone on the platform is allowed to say whatever they wish, even with the resulting consequences. But as you can see, the mob hates that. Politics.
  8. I know I said I'd shut up, but, there's the F word again. Life is not fair. It never will be fair. Stop expecting it to be fair. You really don't want it to be fair. If it were truly fair, every time you made a sale, you would be placed in inactive status until every other seller also got a sale. Fairness and Santa Claus. Most people outgrow the concepts at around 7 or 8.
  9. Maybe then I am just tiring of the conversation. I had my fun poking the natives assembled to sacrifice children to the volcano in order to hold off the latest world destroying catastrophe. I'll leave this to you guys.
  10. Still, we cannot change it, no matter how much we complain about it. Does it really matter?
  11. I think its funny that we are spending so much time on something Fiverr will roll out anyway. Our comments will not change that. At the end of the day, who the hell cares.
  12. I cannot imagine going through life with such a defeatist attitude. But I respect your choice.
  13. I have seen CS side with sellers when they were right. They have done so with me. This is simply not true. Just a myth that keeps getting repeated while people throw themselves a pity party
  14. Bottom like is that none of this matters. It only effects sellers who do not please their buyers, and Fiverr cares not what we think. I've just had my usual fun poking the mob. Meanwhile 3,000 new SEO Exparts from PBIN have arrived while we arrange deck chairs on the Titanic. There are much bigger problems facing us.
  15. But you know mw well enough to know that I don't give a flying fig about such things. I just don't see a business reason to engage in anything other than thanks. Feel free to insult your buyers.
  16. I don't see how I am incentivized to not rate. You have assumed that I am afraid to do so. I just don't care to do any more than say Thanks!
  17. Not our hero on this thread. You are projecting a behavior onto everyone that you cannot.
  18. If they were good to work with they get a 5 and that pasted thank you, because I am thanking them for heir business. If they were an ass, I don't review them. That was like twice out of a bunch, and years ago.
