  1. I can certainly see how this would be annoying. I think it's part of a bigger issue of accessibility on Fiverr. It's clearly not prioritized. I just spoke to a visually impaired woman yesterday. She has major difficulties using Fiverr because it's not accessible using tools for the visually impaired.
  2. I think he means that fewer people are leaving reviews. About 50% of my buyers leave a review, and I consider that high, given that I work with a lot of repeat clients.
  3. Hey, You can read more about gig images here: Fiverr Help and Education Center
  4. A month sounds nice right about now. I've had a pretty good year so far. I'll take a few days off to visit some other places, probably one of the neighboring islands (not too far from you, in fact, if we end up going to Lanzarote), and just relax. Greetings from the Canary Islands!
  5. What "work purpose" is that? Could you elaborate on why you need to use a VPN? Using a VPN can cause issues with Fiverr. Here's the response I got from a support supervisor about it: In other words: It's not impossible, but you should expect issues, and Fiverr recommends not using a VPN. One typical result of it would be that the automated systems at Fiverr think you're trying to mislead them about your actual location (which is against the guidelines and terms) or that you have multiple accounts (also a violation) because you risk getting the same IP as multiple other sellers. IP addresses are, amongst other things, used to verify that you don't have multiple accounts and to determine your location and profile country. I strongly suggest deactivating the VPN before logging in to Fiverr.
  6. I'll let you in on a little secret that changed how I celebrated birthdays: I stopped caring about dates. It's my birthday. If I want to celebrate in September, even though my biological birthday was in August, I'll celebrate in September. Or perhaps in February, three years from now. Birthdays aren't so much a celebration of the day you got born as it is a celebration of who you have become – and who you want to be tomorrow. So celebrate your birthday and be happy about it when you feel like it. Sorry to hear about your shitty week! When it's over, and you're happy again, I wish you a perfect and joyous day with the people you choose to keep close, on the day you decide to do it. Happy birthday!
  7. Kudos for "visibility" instead of "ranking". You heard it first from Charlie!
  8. I can't do the math, either. Adulting is hard. But yes, it might be 62 days ago? And that four-star review is now the only review for the past 60 days. That would explain it.
  9. According to a manager at support I spoke with, using a VPN can cause technical issues because of the way Fiverr works. If a lot of sellers are on the same IP, it could make the system think you have more than one account, or that you're trying to trick Fiverr into thinking you're in a different location than your real one. So yes, it can cause issues. It's not strictly speaking against the guidelines to use a VPN, but I would strongly suggest you avoid it.
  10. In the past two months he had two five-star reviews and one four-star. No matter how you look at it, even if it was just one five-star, the average wouldn't be 4.0. Something might be up. I'd reach out to support for an explanation. When you get their canned auto-response explaining how review calculation works, ask for clarification on your original question, because support tends to send you mumbo-jumbo the first time these days.
  11. I never understood the feature. It should be a percentage only, in my opinion. As always, the lack of transparency is uninspiring.
  12. Struggling with your profile picture? Let’s clear one thing right off the bat: your Fiverr profile pic isn't some haphazard selfie you take on a boozy night out with pals or in your mom’s kitchen wearing a negligee. Put on your big-boy pants or a proper business outfit. Here are some tips to get you started. Hopefully, you’ll come out on the other end with an excellent profile picture, not looking like a mugshot from the local county jail. Consider your brand Consider your brand’s character. Are you the smooth, classy consultant type? Think polished suits, serene expressions, and tasteful home offices. If you’re more of the quirky designer type, bold colors, expressive (but nice) clothing, and a lively backdrop might suit you better. The key here is to dress professionally but appropriately. You’re the brand, and clothes maketh the man (or woman). Pick a background A cluttered background with a rogue pile of laundry or your mama’s dishes ain’t gonna cut it. Go simple, uncluttered, and professional. Something plain and neutral works best, or you can go for a blurred background. If you can swing it, try to make your background relevant to your niche, but remember that less is more. Good lighting Natural light is your best friend. Aim for natural light, ideally during the "golden hours" of early morning or late afternoon (I prefer late afternoon. I look like a sloth on crack in the morning.) Ensure the light is in front of you, avoid harsh and direct sunlight (it will make you squint and look pale), and hard shadows on your face. If you only have indoor lights, ensure they’re soft and not fluorescent. Focus on the face Your face should be front and center. Include your head and the top of your shoulders. Look friendly and inviting. For framing, try to leave a bit of space on every side. Posture Sit or stand straight. Your image should reflect confidence. For a slightly more inviting photo, try angling your body a bit. Not facing directly at the camera with your body can make the picture more inviting and avoid that threatening mugshot look I mentioned earlier. It also makes you look more dynamic. Get a good photographer This isn’t just about the technical aspects of it. Almost anyone can take a good photo with the right smartphone these days, technically. But knowing exactly how to draw out a genuine smile, a relaxed and authentic look, and when to take the photo is better left to a pro. I hope this helps!
  13. I get that, but in my experience, that shows the buyer that you're willing to sit down and spend time on their project without getting paid for it. There's a difference between sending them previous work samples and spending time on their project before you have an order. 🙂 Anyway, it's up to you how you want to do business, but that's my experience.
  14. I'm not in your niche so I can't speak from experience when it comes to graphic design, but: I'd just add a watermark to all the drafts myself, to avoid having this discussion in the first place. With that said: I'm in voice-over and I've been on Fiverr for nine years now. So I do have some experience with buyers wanting you to work for free. Sometimes, I'll send a couple of samples at the beginning of the order if the buyer isn't sure of the style they wanna go for etc. If the buyer asked me to read their entire script twice in different styles, I'd say, "Sure! I'd be happy to record your script twice, but since this would be double the work, I'll have to charge XX extra for it. Please find an order extra attached to this message. Once the order is in, I'll begin recording. If you prefer to stick with the original scope of this order, please select one of the two styles instead. " Don't let buyers push you around into working for free. That's not why we're here.
  15. I would avoid free samples. It makes you look desperate and might attract buyers looking for desperate people to push around. Unfortunately, these things happen sometimes. Luckily, you can work your way out of it again.
  16. Oh, absolutely! Fiverr is just waiting for people with zero skills. In fact, they're considering a new category: "The Art of Nothing". It's a unique space for individuals who want to sell... well, absolutely nothing. You can set up a gig like, "I will professionally not do anything for you." Honestly, it's the next big thing. Now go out there and show the world how you excel at lacking skills. They're all waiting for you, champ! Disclaimer: Irony.
  17. Bummer! I often go Unavailable for a few days, and it can take a bit of time to get back into it, but I never lost access to promoted gigs because of it, so my bet is that you got a negative private review, had late deliveries or some other factor like that. Ensure you do an extra good job with your buyers, under-promise and over-deliver, and always be 100% sure that you understand what the buyer needs before starting. Always ask questions if in doubt and keep your buyers updated. Deliver early if you can. That helps increase buyer satisfaction! Remember, the public star rating means way less than the private reviews you get, so you want to make sure your buyers feel safe, updated, and in the end, super-happy with their deliveries. 🙂
  18. Gig promotion being back is a good sign, yes. Your visibility on Fiverr is based on your performance (and that of your competitors). If you do a good job and sell well, Fiverr will reward you with more visibility. If you do a bad job and get negative private reviews or have your stats drop too low, you'll disappear from search, lose access to promoted gigs, and so on. The idea is to put the best sellers who deliver the best value to buyers front and center. So, getting promoted gigs back could mean your buyer satisfaction has gone back up (or other stats if they dropped recently).
  19. I'm sorry, but you lost me at "enjoy the experience". 🤣 I mentioned I'm a bit of a plane geek, so here goes my sciency reason for calling it stupid: The jet blast coming out of those engines is powerful enough to move a vehicle or even other aircraft, and in some cases, it has damaged buildings (!) and yes, people have died, including a tourist at... Guess where... Maho Beach in St. Maarten's. She was blown away by a jet blast from a departing aircraft and hit her head against some concrete. Not a nice way to go. Three people died back in 2008 when a Boeing 747 – the same type of aircraft in the Youtube video I attached – took off from Bogota in Colombia. The jet blast from a previous plane was enough to dislodge several concrete slabs from the runway, and they got ingested by the engine of a second plane. If you're not sent flying with the risk of death by concrete, you get to enjoy a nice, fresh blend of hydrocarbons and harmful gases such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur oxides, causing potential respiratory issues, eye irritation, headache, and nausea. 20. Mr. Bean is alright, for 5 minutes. I do find Atkinson very amusing in Johnny English. Just the right dose.
  21. Been meaning to check out Peaky Blinders.
  22. Haha. I'll give you The Office. And I really can't deal with British humor. My favorite though, has to be Married With Children. It's the pinnacle of American dad television, and no one is going to convince me otherwise.
  23. This is why I don't spend my time analyzing their gigs in an effort to be helpful anymore. Whenever I see "rank my gig" or "down day by day" posts I simply scroll on past. I can't be bothered with it any longer. Nor can I be bothered watching the American version of Kitchen Nightmares. It's more of an act than pro level wrestling. Sorry, my American friend, but TV is one thing us Europeans do better, in my opinion. Also, no prescription medicine ads. Movies, not so much, though going by the studios it won't be long until no entertainment is watchable no matter where it's produced.
  24. I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning.
