What to do with an order when customer changes his mind?

the_ai_artisan

Question

Hey,

I currently have an open order where I should design five characters and set them on a background. This is exactly what was payed for. I discussed with my customer that we design the characters first before I do the work with the background.

He approved the first four characters and when approving the fifth he says "Oh, I think character no. 2 isn't good any longer."

What should I do, now? He already approved the work I did for that character but he doesn't like it any longer. So we are still on four characters, I did a lot of work (way more than was planned before) and can't finish the order, since we need five characters before even going over to the background.

What is best practice in this case so me and my customer are both satisfied with the outcome?

Would really appreciate your guys' help!

Hello there, It seems like he might want to change the character of 2, or maybe he wants some changes in it, or something else. Did you ask him what he thinks about how character 2 should be?

Buyers need to provide a satisfactory explanation, and proof, before canceling an order. However, we can't force a buyer to accept an order delivery if they aren't satisfied. You can continue to communicate with the buyer to see if you can reach a mutually beneficial agreement.

Yes, I did and he doesn't know. I offer him a lot of alternatives and I am already overdoing what we agreed on was the scope of the offer. Furthermore, I am worried that we can't finish in time as he changed his mind in the mid of the offer. Of course I want him to be satisfied. We are not fighting or anything. It is just about the extra time I need to put in and that I may not hit the delivery date AND work more than I get payed for.

I really don't want him to cancel the order. This is more a question of "how can we use the possibilities of Fiverr" to give him satisfaction with this (maybe) unfinished delivery while I don't work (A LOT!) more than we agreed on with the offer. I was thinking about creating another offer to continue this work, but I don't know. There is no "insurance" for my buyer that this turns out well for him. Hope you understand what I mean.

🤣🤦‍♂️. The AI did a lot of work. Just generate another character, right?

Seems like you know a lot about AI. Thanks for judging me and my work. A true seller plus member. 👏👏👏

Well as @vibronx said, the AI did the work. You offer a service where you create AI art, and you call yourself the AI Artisan. With all due respect, you have an username that clearly involves AI, some of your gigs focus on AI art, so clearly the AI does the work and you refine it.

There is a place in the Resolution Center to give your buyer a partial refund. Perhaps that would satisfy them.

Out of curiosity, have you seen this magazine's article on AI Art?
