For different kind of logo needs different kind of social media kit. It is so difficult to design. When buyer want this. It waste many time to understand the concepts of social media kit.

I am new to Fiverr. I am confused what is a social media kit. Almost every logo designer provides a social media kit. What type of file format do we provide and how many? Should we provide psd or vector files that are blank but are the right dimensions (For social media platforms) and contain the logo?

Are you a buyer or seller? If a buyer, you can ask a seller what is included. If you’re a seller, simply don’t include it in your gig if you don’t understand what it is.

Don’t do something just because everyone else is doing it.

Make that a requirement, then. A mandatory set of boxes of options for file-type to be delivered that the buyer must select from.

Generally a “Social Media Kit” includes a cover image and a profile image for social platform like Facebook or Twitter etc. Should maintain proper dimensions for those images.

I'm not sure where to ask for help with this.

A seller has asked me to provide "some text of yours to add in the social media kit". I asked what kind of text this involves, but their only response was to google for ideas. As far as I can tell from google, a social media kit is something to do with a brand image for social media, but everything I can find seems to be aimed at designers who are creating one, and I can't understand what this seller is asking for, or how it relates to my book. And Google's top answer brought me back to this forum, so it seems a sensible place to ask.

If a seller wants text for a social media kit, what do I need to give them? Do they mean like a blurb for the book, or some kind of promotional thing?

A social media kit is like a set of promotional materials, so custom templates that fits the ideal size of an FB post, IG post or whatever you both agreed on. Sellers offer different social media kits. 

I am guessing the seller wants to know info about what they can place in your kit. 

It's a couple of illustrations for a book.

I was under the impression that it was almost done, but then got a message "Sir can you provide me some text of yours which you want to add in the social media kit please?". This completely confused me because this was the first mention of a social media kit. I had no idea what this was for; didn't know if it's like some kind of review for the seller, or if they want to include information about the finished book in their portfolio or something. I tried asking for more details, and they told me to google it and write something.

I'm less worried now, because they delivered the illustrations, although I've still had a few cryptic messages bugging me about this text through the day. I just wish I knew what's going on with this.

Maybe try to ask them what is included in their  social media kit? Do they want to take for a fb cover or any other banner for social media?

I see! I usually thought that sellers who do illustrations just did illustrations but maybe the social media kit is included in the offer.

Well, at least you did receive those illustrations! 😄 

From my point of view they probably just wanted to make some promotional materials you could use when you promote the book. But the important thing here is you got your illustrations which was what you intended the order to be! 😅
