How and why is it deemed fair that the client/customer receives their commission right away once sent, yet US (the artists) have to WAIT for our hard earned money?

In my ‘real world’ job, I was paid 4 weeks in arrears.

Can’t see the problem with waiting for 14-17 days. 🙂

I’m curious about this part of your question. What does this mean? The funds paid by the buyer are held in a sort of escrow while pending clearance. If something goes wrong with the transaction (like a chargeback) Fiverr does not get paid either.
